I agree with the communication problem. Invictus: I offer my talents to you freely. I'm good at constructing a clear message and simplifying things. Maybe I should become a deleagte and pledge to take on a PR role. Hmmm.

The allocation may be unfair, however I don't really get why some big Chinese investors are ready to sell so low right now : don't they believe in future high prices for BTS ? Even if one feels robbed by the allocation, BTS still have the potential to go to the moon, and even more after the merge.

I am European, I am not Chinese and certainly not American, but I think it is not neither about "changing the rules" but rather a principle. I feel it like that.
A lot of successful people say that it is necessary to stick to your goals with tooth's and nails.
And often the first decision is correct.

That, my friend, is a recipe for failure. Bitshares is a decentralized unmanned startup and startups need to pivot.

First of all I wondered why Dan and Stan start this. They are clever, they know what will happend..and they have power of word... I wish them the success. I read Dan's post minute after publication. Therefore I staying, not selling, not buying I do not care.I do not have power of word and I am not gambler.

on the other hand whales also know how to count 1+3 = ?

BM gave extremely good reasons to justify the merge : he argued that it was a necessity for the long term survival of our ecosystem, and I'm quite convinced he is right. I lost a bitcoin worth of DNS (a penny in the ocean, but it's still a fifth of my paycheck), but I don't mind provided that BTS go to the moon. And I'm convinced that BTS have more change to go to the moon than BTSX+DNS+VOTE had.

i guess there are many reasons.
one of them may be related to the merging.
those who lost confidence have no reasons to stay since now they can't stop or change the plan. others are not sure wherher the superdac may work well. so sell 》buy.

of course that the whole digital currency space now is not so good is also a reason.

but i think once bm proves the dev team has the ability to drive the superdac, price will be up. bts is still one of the best products in the market currently.

I think everybody should be free to make his own decisions... whales included

Every day I am more and more convinced that being a big whale is not improving your eyesight (or is it foresight?). Examples are never ending. Even a bigger whale than our Chinese friendly whales, the big O, went with the outdated technology impractical for trading, when blockchains designed for trading do exist [and BTSX is not the only one out there]

Lack of arbitrage is the problem, isn't it. And this 'should' solves it.

I agree, therefore I remaining in the game, from beginning to end, whether it will be victory or defeat. Journey is the destination.

Chinese culture is so distant it seems.  I do thank you for your insight into how they are thinking about all this.

yes we do thank you for the insight!

Willaim contacted me and did some work.  The problem is even for me, I have no idea.  Chinese culture is so distant it seems.  I do thank you for your insight into how they are thinking about all this.

I was trying to do some translation.  Any sort of coordination would be great.

Maybe in the mumble hangout tomorrow there can be a live chinese translator translating what is said?  Big Chinese whales could ask questions and have the translator translate them and have them answered etc.  It would slow the conversation down a bit, but worth it if it means everyone understands why the merge is happening.  Q n A with China needed.

i will spread the news there and see if someone is willing do the translation job. 9am est is a good time for chinese.

Agreed. I3 should hire pr specialist/community organizer. Many things remain unclear so far, e.g. will AGS/PTS be honored in the future? Communication is not like coding... its all about politics, which can be defined as the art of allocation of limited resources to appropriate places. Building consensus should be our top priority, including people from different backgrounds.

However, I'm still supportive to BM and Bitshares team :)
