Total BTS should only include claimable shares, not 100% of all vested shares. Otherwise, it will look like we 'pulled a ripple'. Listing unclaimable shares makes as much sense as adding unmined coins into the total supply of Bitcoin.

I disagree.  I think it needs to me shown as 2.5 billion now (which might makes us take a short term hit), so that in the long term it can slowly increase due to paid delegates at the correct (low inflation rate).

If it is set at 2 billion now and then the merger shares get added in, it will look like we have 15% a year inflation.

Also, it is the most accurate way.  The merger shares already exist, and people have the private keys that will allow them to claim them in time.  They simply cannot be sold yet.

The future delegate pay shares do not yet exist, and we do not know how many of them will be created or who will get them.

Perhaps that is a good idea but we need to be consistent and cause as little confusion as possible. I guess what follows then is that as those vested shares become accessible they are counted in. The calculation of total BTS now has me confused and I'm interested.. need to make it immediate and a single reference point, perhaps in the wiki would be useful. It would also be useful to know the dates at which vested shares become liquid again, it seemed there are a few of those now.

Market cap websites like http://coinmarketcap.com will need to update the total BTS too and might need help with the detail of dilution. Is there a single reference point for the current total BTS?

The BTSX symbol should be legacy-compatible, alongside with the new BTS symbol in the APIs.

Notification from Vikram Rajkumar , developer of the BTS .

All exchanges should rename BTSX to BTS on their site  , and their API to access BTSX wallet should change to BTS as well after the hard-fork.

For example , the API below is for transferring assets out :
  transfer <amount_to_transfer> <asset_symbol> <from_account_name> <to_account_name> [memo_message] [vote_method]

In the old days , exchanges would use the api to transfer BTSX like this :
transfer <amount_to_transfer> <BTSX> <from_account_name> <to_account_name> [memo_message] [vote_method]

After the hard-fork , the exchanges should use the api to transfer BTS like this :
transfer <amount_to_transfer> <BTS> <from_account_name> <to_account_name> [memo_message] [vote_method]

Users who need to immediately use the client will need to change their calls to the API to use BTS instead of BTSX. Users who can wait until the next release may need to make no changes, as the next release may accept the symbol "BTSX" again for compatibility.

转账各种资产用的API是:  transfer <amount_to_transfer> <asset_symbol> <from_account_name> <to_account_name> [memo_message] [vote_method]

在以前,利用这个API转账BTSX,是transfer <amount_to_transfer> <BTSX> <from_account_name> <to_account_name> [memo_message] [vote_method]

在硬分叉发生后,转账BTS使用的API是transfer <amount_to_transfer> <BTS> <from_account_name> <to_account_name> [memo_message] [vote_method]

如果你要立即使用API操作的功能,请根据本文的指示调整访问API的代码。开发者在下一个版本或许会加上BTSX跟BTS资产符号兼容、互相替换使用的功能,但直到下一个版本释放出来之前,请还是先调整你的代码。
