Another country where bitUSD could explode :  http://panampost.com/peter-sacco/2014/12/02/venezuelas-plummeting-bolivar-dips-into-hyperinflation/

We definitely need to translate everything in  Spanish. Clearly there is tremendous potential in Latin America for bitUSD.

I'm voting for matt608 for sure.

Thanks.  Turns out that my 4.24 version was not syncing.

Is Matt608 on the delegate list yet?  I can not find them in the list of delegates...

Yup:

Thanks.  Trying to vote for you, but can't get your delegate to come up in the wallet delegate list.  I'm filtering by your full delegate name... argentina-marketing.matt608..  Suggestions??

Not sure, it's around position 125 at the moment, if you can't see it you could try locking + unlock wallet or if that fails re-installing/update client?  There's been a bug on the loose today, an new version with it fixed has been released: https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares/releases

Thanks for you support.

Thanks matt, it seems like my previous version of the wallet had trouble syncing.  I've added you to my vote roll.

On a separate note, I see that our current wallet does not provide for Spanish translation.  Will you be working of resolving this issue?  I'm a fairly fluent Spanish/Portuguese speaker, so I can assist you with this of needed.

Thought recently about those countries with capital controls and crashing national currencies...
The question I was puzzled with is - who is going to sell bitUSD to a Venezuelan, and for what?

if Venezuelan wants to buy bitUSD for cash or bank Bolivar - who will be ready to part with their bitUSD for Bolivars and what would be their motivation?

If Venezuelan wants to get USD out of the country and instead of carrying fiat it is way less risky to carry bitUSD balance through customs - which seller of bitUSD is happy to get paid cash USD in Caracas? Be it some international guy who travels and has USD account in the US, so he can buy bitUSD with it. But why such seller would want his USD back in cash in Venezuela?

Agree bitUSD could be great remittance vehicle. Also if some people who have cash USD in Caracas prefer to hold bitUSD for more secure storage, but here again, this requires a local seller who somehow managed to buy bitUSD from someone with access to on ramps.

Does someone understand what I am trying to express here? Apologies if my concern is not as clearly articulated. I mean for every buyer there has to be a seller or a short who is happy to be paid in something that a buyer has...

Is the answer similar to China - they mine BTC locally and exchange this into bitUSD??

+5% There is so much potential in Latin America it's not even funny.

There should to be a news in North America media about how South America people want USD badly and some of them are working on buying BitUSD....  ;)

Then you can easily plug the word BitUSD into a seem-to-be normal article without too obvious marketing purpose in the US or Canada .

I  think your site http://whatisbitusd.com/ should be translated in Spanish ASAP maybe it will go viral  in Latin America :)

Absolutely agree. But some of the links might need tweaking.. the interest button returns to the home page.
I like it though

There needs to be a way for people to get paid to represent Bitshares. I'm down in Colombia and would love to know if it's possible for me to get paid to market Bitshares down here. It would be helpful if there was some kind of way for community to pay for signs or ads, car logos, etc and someway to measure marketing effectiveness with a referral link. And you get paid for each new registered user. A simple referral link or QR code that is linked to your Bitshares username or account, that pays you when someone registers.

PMd.

Bluebit, I'm glad to know you are in Colombia! To get paid, you can either become a delegate yourself or else do some marketing work for one. Methodx has a marketing delegate already. Matt608 is forming one to focus marketing efforts in Argentina. I'm sure either of them will be glad to talk with you. If you have a good marketing idea, let Methodx know and he may be able to fund you on it.

Absolutely!

Vote for Matt608 to get this started; much of what he's doing in Argentina can be duplicated elsewhere in the region.

Show me 6 qualified delegate candidates who are ready to take on the Latin American markets and I'll vote for every one of them today!

Yes, we should not miss out on this opportunity.
