Hello Camilla! Welcome to the BitShares community.

Thanks for the great effort to support and promote BitShares through your online store. Yup, you should get in touch with the Bitscape team for bitUSD payment gateway. Jsidhu is currently working on bitUSD payment gateway too, and it will work with WooCommerce as a WP plugin.

Here's the link to jsidhu payment gateway thread:

For now, you can start with over-the-counter orders from within the forum by accepting bitUSD manually.

p/s: I know accepting Paypal is somewhat contradict the ideas of bitAssets and decentralization. But it's a great start, she already had a working WooCommerce store in a pipeline, and some pretty products too. There's nothing wrong accepting payment via Paypal to kickstart the project right?

I'm against supporting PayPal but if it helps BitShares, and there's no viable alternative, I suppose I'd have to reconsider :)

Thank you guys for your positive comments!
I have decided not to use paypal. Today I'm working on how to accept cryptocurrency on my website
Unfortunately its not  possible to buy anything on the webpage yet

PayPal offers buyer protection, while direct (non-refundable) BitUSD payments require trust.

The way I see it, you are trying to accomplish many things, including:
1) To promote BitShares via crowd-sourced offline advertising (i.e. distributing branded apparel/swag)
2) To support BitShares by growing its online presence
3) To make a profit and grow your business
4) To accept payments via automated gateway

IMO, #4 is nice but optional. If I had to choose between taking payments via forums/email and using PayPal, I’d go with the former.

My suggestion: Install the BitShares client, register an account, and you’re all set! It would be great to see a photo of someone wearing one of your original designs :) Once you’re ready, we can help you automate payment processing.

Thanks for reaching out, hope this helps!

Until it's easy to set up bitUSD acceptance there's nothing wrong with using paypal. Despite 6 years of development and endless hype, for the vast majority of merchants the easiest way to accept online payments is still paypal rather than cryptocurrency... It's sad.

Jsidhu's plugins and the BTS web/light wallet might finally make it easy enough. Can't wait for 1.0 and USD gateway...

Paypal....

Yeah, it kinda goes up against the concept of a bitshares shop ahah but bitUSD acceptance is one of the short term features so. I would suggest though, that once you have implemented the bitUSD feature that you get rid of paypal

I’m Camilla, a bitshares enthusiast from Norway.

I love bitshares and think it is a great project. I have been thinking about how to contribute and promote bitshares so I have created a website for bitshares products. I am new to this game, and this is the first web site I ever made. Still I have decided to go for it.. It never hurts to try.

http://bitshares.co.nf/shop/

Feel free to leave feedback so I can improve the webpage and the products.

Short term to-do-list:
Create more products,
Improve the design,
Accept bitUSD as payment,

Hei Camilla og velkommen skal du være! :)

Great initiative, like the others are saying if you could work with roadscape and bitscape to add bitUSD support that would be even better!

PS. there's a spelling error on one of your men's t-shirts, there's an N missing in decentralized ;)

Excellent work! You've done very well indeed for a first time effort. Scratch that, that's a great start for a wordpress guru!
