Well, the current logo does say "bitshares"...and lowercase is considered hip, modern, and cool...and many people are lazy and apparently don't like to capitalize when typing, so I'm sure "bitshares" will often be typed either way...so I'd just say match the logo and keep everything simple: "bitshares".

Don't mix the things, look to other logos for example new balance, yes at the logo all letters is lower case and now look to the site and over Internet, yes - it's New Balance.

Now, let's see how this will look in the wiki for example:
"Bitshares is based on the bitshares toolkit, which gives it many inherent advantages. Bitshares has Transfer Invisibly To Any Name (TITAN) and Delegated Proof of Stake (DPOS) in addition to several other novel features." - do you like it? I'm not!

Clear!

Should I change the title of the post, so that it corresponds to the poll?

Yes and you should reset the poll.

Please don't change the logo......

We are still feeling the bite from the name change and confused message, that I feel like we are just starting to over come. A logo change will just add fuel to the confusion fire.

+5% I like the logo we have.

It's definitely:
and NOT:                          BitShares

PS: The bitshares logo is the b for a reason... So YES to the poll for bitshares

The current logo is lower case right? I accidentally voted for no. I can't figure out how to change my vote.

maybe a new thread for this poll because intentionally some will answer NO cause the question of the tiltle (and not the poll)!!! I assume the majority don't want to change the logo  :)

I like the current logo.

I prefer - bitshares and Bitshares

I've never liked the capital S  in BitShares .. looks odd, its awkward and is rarely used anyway.

ok added a poll, cause i can udnerstand concerns about capitalization! :)

let me know your thoughts! I'm also not a big fan of BitShares, but over the last month, i guess, the capitalized was established!
+5% in the text it's should stay BitShares in the logo, because a font and nice b which shows shares - it's can be as we have today IMHO.

yup like this idea

What about Bitshares instead of BitShares? Never liked the weird capitalization and everyone ignores it anyway (for example the BitShares 101 book didn't capitalize it correctly a single time IIRC).

Evolution of language..
BitShares - No! Bitshares - No! Bits-hares - No! Bitsh-ares - No! Bitches :P

The proposed alternative icon in the op looks a lot like what Hyperledger already has.

Agree. All lowercase is how we should approach mainstream

I like our logo but we all should use

bitshares   as our official name and NOT
BitShares

its the "b" that reminds as our logo...
or the logo reminds as bitshares?  .... doesn't mater!

PS just to remember you that it was Brian Page decision to use the ...B    :'(

It feels awkward to capitalize the "S".

First, welcome on board kaibakker :)!

NOPE

IMO our current logo icon is great! For stylebook etc. i've tweaked colors and tried to avoid blue/green combo!

But icon should stay like it is ... my 2 bts

I like the existing one. Its a B with shares of a pie. Looks great.

What does a cube have to do with anything?

Also you should give letters more spacing and more important same spacing ...

There is some discussion about the capitalisation in BitShares.
What do you think?

Hi Everyone,
Personally i don't really like the current logo, I hope not to offend anyone who put in their time and effort.
The type is too small, i don't like the light blue + light green.
Or am I the only one?

I made a quick alternative, it needs fine tuning, maybe some color.
tell me what you think..
