I need some info on a T-shirt order. Please see PM

Thx, does that mean it's already open source? Cause I can't see any license agreement attached to the repo.

I'm leaning towards MIT, unless there is a better option.

The only thing I ask is that you link back to cryptofresh.com from your store footer.
Everybody, does such a request seem fair?

Thanks for your answer.
That seems fair to me and please continue your great work on that project.

I apologize roadscape, my comment was not relevant to your thread. Bytemaster has not commented about bitsapphire's proposal, but his comment here (which I quoted) is interesting when put in that context. I don't mean to hijack your thread, but the lack of developer opinion on the matter is a little frustrating.

I too was waiting for Dan to chime in but we'll just assault him on Friday's dev mumble ;)
I voiced concerns/questions in bitsapphire's 1st and 2nd proposals and they've been addressed.

... the lack of developer opinion on the matter is a little frustrating.

We are trying to let the community grow up free and independent.
That might not happen quickly if we express too many opinions.

 :)

That, or you guys just like to watch the forums squirm :)

There is that...

Because you are now employed by the bitshares blockchain would you consider making the your check out code open source?

I am sure you will agree that doing this will only help to further adoption for bitshares as a whole, not to mention it keeps in line with bitshares open source nature.

Actually, anyone producing code *PAID FOR* by the blockchain needs to open source it or they don't get my vote.

Do you feel this way about BitSapphire's wallet?

Sorry, I don't understand. Is this related to my post above? Neither Cryptofresh nor BitSapphire development were paid for by the blockchain.

Are there any plans on making the commerce platform behind cryptofresh open source?

Definitely interested in releasing it to the community! Perhaps upon reaching a certain goal..
I really love your shop. What do you need to make it open source now?

You can see the repo here: https://github.com/roadscape/cryptofresh

Yes yes yes 100 times yes, we are going to open source it!  :D  I think Tim (roadscape) was just waiting to put some things in order with the code before doing so.

We both worked through the holidays to get everything developed and up and functioning, and just recently took a moments rest with our respective families.  About to spring back into action!

We just earned back our 'first' 100% delegate registration fee on media.bitscape.

provisional.bitscape is not yet voted in, so you could say that we are currently, essentially two 50% paid delegates with weeks of work and money pre-loaded into this project.

We still need your votes.  We're not stopping anytime soon!
Progress report coming soon with the monthly newsletter.

Onward!   :D

Can you sell BitShares hoodies as well?

Definitely!  That's next on my clothing item list, as I really really want one for myself too.

Every T-Shirt we sell we get that much closer to hoodies and stickers and all manner of fun and useful stuff.

which makes me wonder, do we have any sense of the gender 'balance' among the BitShares community thus far?  Curious.

I've noticed precisely four other female identities on the forum that had posted only a few (or less) times.   :-[
I also recall a post where someone wrote about having advised the female friends he'd introduced to bishares to conceal their gender on the forum .   :-\

On a brighter note, how are the cryptofresh sales coming along?

Slow but steady... Everyone in the US who ordered should now have received their shirts!

We welcome photos of you representing BitShares in your new T-Shirts!

Hopefully everyone who hasn't ordered yet will soon be getting envious, and we'll see some more orders. ;)

I would think that everyone trying to make a BitShares Meetup showing in english speaking regions would be wanting to gear up!

If you want to order T-Shirts in quantity just PM me and I'll generate an order and shipping quote for you manually until we get the quantity / shipping logic worked out.

More products in the pipeline!

I especially like your choice of models and photo shoot settings.   8)

The t-shirts look great too!

We're definitely open to suggestions from the community, so thanks for the feedback!

You have me thinking of crocheted/knitted beanies with the bitshares logo on the crown.... if only I were quicker with yarn and hook...

Well the sky is the limit.  Since you're a little slower with the yarn and hook you'll just have to charge more for your one of a kind pieces :) or find other merchants who are interested in accepting Bitassets.

I promise more attractive models for the other 94% of the audience. ;) which makes me wonder, do we have any sense of the gender 'balance' among the BitShares community thus far?  Curious.

I am in for a shirt ..

One remark on payment: As I use the CLI version I copy/paste receiver/memo .. I do this by double-clicking accountname and memo. For the memo However, the "." at the end is also selected and has to be removed manually after pasting.

Thanks! Nice to see you're keeping it real on the CLI.  I can guarantee roadscape will make a point to fix the "." at the end, that's just the kind of guy he is.  :)

Do not use this post as information for making any important decisions. The only agreements I ever make are informal and non-binding. Take the same precautions as when dealing with a compromised account, scammer, sockpuppet, etc.

Are there going to be larger sizes? Hats and mugs will be nice too.

We can certainly print larger sizes when we do the next run.
We'll need to sell through most of the existing shirts first, we had 100 printed.

Hats and mugs are definitely in the queue!

Wow. This is awesome!!

I'll pay $0.99 bitUSD for a 1440x900 background: http://cryptofresh.com/products/21

I want to use it as the wallpaper for my tutorial videos.

Update: And this one :) http://cryptofresh.com/products/15

Update2: Also, if you could do one for me with your store address as a watermark it'll be free advertising from the tutorial videos that are going up on whatisbitusd.com.

Thanks Riverhead :) I've added new versions of both wallpapers. I'll play around with cryptofresh watermarks later, thanks for the offer!!

Ordered a shirt and I was able to submit my order with seconds to go (had to get bitUSD off the market). Any way to know if it went through?

Once you complete (and/or refresh) the order, you will see the message "Thank you for your order! It will be shipping soon!" in the gray box below. This last stage of the order flow needs better clarity, I'll admit. I did confirm your order went through though. :)

Slick job on the site! Those are some great marketing points. I enjoyed being able to buy something tangible with bitGOLD and thought the checkout process was slick.

I'm pretty sure you're the first human in the history of the world to buy a T-Shirt with BitGOLD... :D

And you were the first person to purchase a T-Shirt from our store!

We'll have to hack together a framed digital LED 'BitGOLD' note for posterity.

Addendum

It's been a joy working on this payment gateway... that's coming from someone who's
priorly implemented Robokassa, Authorize.net, and Stripe payment gateways (grudgingly).

Reflecting on my experience, many benefits come to mind:

For customers
 - TITAN allows for very friendly interfaces
 - Pegged assets like BitUSD are as intuitive as it gets
 - DPOS makes transactions fast and painless
 - Practically no need for QR codes
 - Logins (not yet implemented) simplify repeat orders

For developers
 - Interfacing with BTS client is easy
 - No need for cumbersome currency conversions if pricing in fiat
 - Writing a BTS payment gateway from scratch
was easier than implementing the Authorize.net API
 - No crazy chargeback/verification logic

For merchants
 - No chargebacks
 - Minimal collection of customer data
 - No 3rd party involved
 - Stable currency
 - Transfers are atomic and practically instant
 - Transaction fees for a $20 purchase are less than 0.1%
where 2-5% fees are the industry standard
For a $200 purchase, the fee is less than 0.01%

Needless to say, we're excited to explore the opportunities with this outlet!

Cryptofresh.com is a proof-of-awesome BitShares store.

The store is live, t-shirts are here, the referral program is implemented,
and you can now pay with BitUSD, BitCNY, BitEUR, BitGOLD, and BitSILVER.

Sorry, we don't accept NuBits, BTC, and not even BTS. BitAssets only! :)

We are pleased to announce the release of our first T-Shirts @ cryptofresh.com!

With our new referral program, earn $2 BitUSD for every shirt you sell!

Importance of BitASSET adoption

The adoption and use of BitAssets in ecommerce helps establish them as our community's original products,
and this strengthens our case when it comes to potential intellectual property conflicts.
It's especially important for BitGOLD and BitUSD. So spread the word!

Your vote supports our further efforts!

This project is a labor of love, along with everything else that we're working on, and we
are trying to turn it into a profitable enterprise which contributes back to the community.
