Seem's its OK now, I've got 206000 BTS and will go gamble with BitBTC.
Good to hear .. We try to educate people in order to trust crypto in general and BitShares specifically. In BTS, all keys are derived from a single private key (account owner key) .. hence, if you have a backup of that key, you can regenerate all others and gain access to your funds again

Have one more conceptual question - I see it's not appropriate place to ask - but nethertheless - if I short BitUSD I pay interest to BitUSD buyers. Is it MONTHLY interest or yearly? Where could I read docs about short operation?
yearly!

Thank you very much, I liked my 200000 bts a lot ))
Me too :) Nice to see you gamble WITHIN the bts blockchain :) rocks!

Also, should I do new backup of my wallet from 0.5.3 version and keep it safe? Or I could just regenerate keys every time providing that I have a tattoo with my private key on my leg? :)
New version genrate backups automatically.. they can be found in %APPDATA%\roaming\bitshares\wallets\.backups
your should backup those (json) files!!! .. do it NOW

Is it safe to send my account 'history' output here?
No one can gain access to your funds from the data in the history. Though people now know that you own ~200k BTS .. not an issue IMHO

Quote
It shows my 'CLAIM' addreesses from feb 28 snapshot?
Those are addresses from either PTS or AGS donations .. so people can connect your forum name with a PTS/BTC address .. If you are not ok with that you should delete/blanken the addresses

Quote
I hope if I publish 'history' output, I will not  leak  my private key to everybody?
You're safe! nothing to fear

Quote
So the question is: Is there any bitcoin_client command which could potentially leak my private key so I will be robbed if publish its output by accident?
there is a command called
Code: [Select]
wallet_dump_private_key that dumps the privkeys .. the (automatic) backups do not expose the privkeys in cleartext .. those are encrypted with your passphrase

Thanks, vikram

I used your instructions using 0.5.3 client and it worked!

I had backup of my original feb snapshot wallet - so I imported it using GUI wallet. I suppose it is JSON format (answering xeroc's question here)

Log of my operations follows.

Code: [Select]
(wallet closed) >>> wallet_open default
OK
default (locked) >>>
default (locked) >>> wallet_regenerate_keys
account_name: pyhta4og
max_key_number: 11000
passphrase:
OK
Backing up wallet...
Wallet automatically backed up to: /home/mike/.BitShares/wallets/.backups/default/default-20150126T075838-before_key_regeneration.json
This may take a while...
Regenerating wallet child keys and importing into account: pyhta4og
max_key_number: 11000
Regenerating type 1 account child keys for account: pyhta4og

Regenerating type 2 account child keys for account: pyhta4og

Key regeneration may leave the wallet in an inconsistent state.
It is recommended to create a new wallet and transfer all funds.

Also usually helpful: http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/RecoveringFunds

BTW, did you recover from private keys or did you recover from a wallet-backup (json format)?

Offline vikram

Old versions of 0.4.x series lost private keys for market orders.

Try the key regeneration instructions here: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=9194.msg148083#msg148083

I used 0.4.2 on linux and traded BTSX->BITUSD and back recently

Everything used to be OK. I've traded BITUSD back into BTSX. About 200 000 BTSX was on the account. It was 2 or 3 days ago.

After that, I upgraded client to latest (0.5.3)

After recovering account from backup (with full sync and transaction scanning) it shows 6000 BTS and nothing more!!!!

Seems it doesn't show any recent trades I did.

Please advice how could I recover my funds.

I want to buy BitBTC while it is trending and I have missed opportunity at least due to unstable client.

I need help ASAP.
