None of the devs are likely to see your post in this thread because Keyhotee is now superseded by new developments.

You will likely get a quicker answer if you post in Technical Support here:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?board=45.0

or in Bank & Exchange here:

When installing the newest Keyhotee version ... i can't create a new profile after loading process ... keyhotee crashes!

OSX version
MacOS: Jul 24, 0:17:13 Keyhotee.dmg
http://bitshares.org/resources/downloads/

I must say by the endless new installs / new keyhotee accounts etc... i'm now really confused ... also the brainkey for my main wallet doesn't work.
Furthermore i asked month before to change my founder ID from cassiopaia to cass ... and when looking on genesis block on wallet directory ..
just my old founder ID cassiopaia is showed up instead of cass founder ID. Sry to bother you with this ... but pls hopefully someone could help me out with this issue!
Looking forward hearing from you...
Thx for your help

cass

I am having similar problems. Did you get help with this?

spoonman

I'm thinking the last public key I sent never got registered. Is it too late to get a new public key submitted for future products including Keyhotee?

In the meantime: 0.7.1 is running on a win7/64 machine. Reading the name from the copied 0.7.0 profile was o.k., but it did not acknowledge the pw. Therefore a new attempt to build the identity was needed.

IEShims.dll should be in your "Program Files\Internet Explorer" folder, it's part of the initial install.

Interesting to see that IE is required :-)

That also desccribes why you are once of only a few users having that issue

One step further, copied (existing) IEShims.dll to System32
result:

perhaps better wait for the next release ?

Can you navigate to that folder using the command promt ('cmd') and start keyhotee from within there .. I guess there is some output!

Unfortunately not more helpful info. Thx.
I'm not sure if this will help any or not, since it looks like everything is there, but you could try downloading the free "dependency walker" tool to check if there's a missing DLL. This is probably only worthwhile if you have some programming background, however. Dependency walker is here:

0.7.92-win32.exe / 0.7.100-win32.exe  - not starting on win7 /32. No error or the like - just silent.

seems like something is missing  ;)
Looks like you have the correct set of files, with roughly the right size. Could you have some virus protection or firewall software that is blocking operation?

Thx for your quick reply. No reaction with FW & VP down, admin etc.  No issues with 0.7.0 (prematurely uninstalled...)
Check in task manager to be sure you don't have a copy of Keyhotee still running in a zombie-like state. Possibly the best way to do this is to reboot, then try re-running.

Done - reboot, redownload, reinstall - same negativ result. Mmhh...  Another compiled link for Win7-32bit available?
