BitShares is perhaps going through a metamorphosis into it's next stage.

"PR" in Chinese apparently means "abandon all forms of communication"

It's become harder to engage the forum now the preview of recent posts was removed. Still unclear who did that and why but there's been no obvious response in the Meta thread.. https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=13311.0

i've contacted Bitsapphire about ...

Lol I like how "PR" in Chinese apparently means "abandon all forms of communication"...seriously, how is this supposed to instill investor confidence again??

The silence is deafening lately.

I mean, come on, forum-goers are obviously concerned that the devs are being "muzzled" and "gagged"...a proper "PR" move would be to talk to these people, explain what's going on, why it's not as bad as it seems, etc etc. But just straight up silence? Ain't gonna cut it.

Also, I'm not liking the move to PR when BitShares is only at 0.6#.. if devs must be muffled, then wait till 0.9 or v1.0 for the 'normal' PR speak dull sales-message-only default. A little difference among devs is a sign they are engaged. A move to PR looks weak to me, especially given that no PR I've seen has delivered. Perhaps a symptom of talk where there is no product yet but still if BitShares is to find its way and navigate through choppy waters, better than any other random offering that hides its activity behind marketing, then it needs to be adhering to what makes Blockchain technology work.. transparency is part of that.

...one that invites more community participation.

Like a community that only participates by posting goofy animated gifs (no text at all) until Dan responds with an 18 paragraph single thought off the top of his head which might just change teh future as we know it for the better.

It doesn't even necessarily have to do with BitShares. It could be about how to make butter even better (seriously, think of all of the uses ... and that taste on <insert regional breakfast delicacy which you enjoy slathering with butter>!)

Anyone else notice how slow this forum has gotten?  We are now down to like 10 English posters... It's too bad because this used to be a hotbed for bitshares conversation...

Without the devs' participation (due to gag order), the rest can still contribute to this forum.

Yeh but the devs and innovators are the ones that bring people to the forums and our community.  I still am on record disagreeing with the approach being taken, but it is part of the growing process to make big strategic mistakes and have to learn from them the hard way.

BitShares as a project is a winner either way imho, but there is probably a better way to do it...one that invites more community participation.

Don't worry though, we are evolving.

Seriously, I was.

It's why most of us came here (assumption pulled from teh ethers).

I feel like I was invited to see Dita Von Teese and instead got Abe Van Helsing (you know, because the life has been sucked out of the forum and Abe's been asked to solve teh mystery).
