BitUSD: BitBTC market?[Solved]

You guys rock.  And by the way, the whole "flip market" feature is pretty snazzy too.  That should really be hyped more / more visible as well!

I did.... and why not?  It seems to me that this is THE biggest marketing feature to bring newcomers to BitShares.  Crazy.  "Ditch the shady exchange, trade USD and BTC without any trusted third parties on the blockchain".  Seriously.

Youre absolutely right. I wrote a massive post about this a few days ago. And since then Im glad to say the problem is being fixed right now. svk has put in a great fix on the newlayout_market branch that adds the following to the front page:

BitBTC:BitUSD
BitBTC:BitCNY
BitUSD:BitCNY

Great choices svk! This will also be really positive for our chinese users.

Why isn't this the default?  Or at least make the "flip market" more obvious.  I didn't even see it.  Aren't we trying to encourage people to get off of these sketchy exchanges?  Perhaps the ridiculous math involved at first glance is somewhat correlated with the low volume here?

Yep. And did you type that market in the search bar? Thats also why its low volume, we arent even bothering to show it.

Shouldn't the market be flipped to BitBTC: BitUSD? The math, I think would be easier.  Is there a reason why this shouldn't or wouldn't be implemented?

Check out the "Flip Market" button next to the trading pair name in the market view for a specific pair. Then you can see the Buy / Sell bitBTC view.
