Agreed. It's a knee jerk. When we see features that don't work, it reflects on the entire app.
I am more than confident in BTS tho, hence the reason why I keep buying, all the way, and thru the bottom.

A reeeeeeeeally comforting thing that I noticed this morning:
https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares/milestones
Notice in 0.10.0 forward, it says:
"Feature freeze + close any remaining market issues" and:
"Continue stabilization + more API cleanup" in v0.11.0

That is literally only two weeks away, so I am going to wait to upgrade till v0.11.0 is out. No new features, just make the existing ones rock-solid bug-free first. I love the Devs, they have accomplished milestones in such a short amount of time, you gotta give them some credit. I never coded that fast even in my 20's so you know these guys are good. Look what they've managed to buiuld in less than a year's time, that is phenominal to me.

GREAT JOB DEVS KEEP IT GOIN!!
I am buying a bunch more BTS this afternoon too, lovin the work being done here!!!!! :)
Prost,
  -ken
I AM 100% SURE THEY WILL NERVER DELIVER 0.11.0 AT THE DEADLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you should give more credit to confidence of btsholders

we all know its early early state of a very new technologie

is it sometime frustrating ? o yes
i think every one hates to update wallets

but after the devs fixed the more important things they find time to fix the upgrade bottom

Who is responsible for fixing the "Check for Updates" feature in the bts client?
I'll be damned if I'm gonna go thru a manual install again.
Ehm .. acutally there is no 'fixing' there ...
Just the terminology is kind of skrewed .. The updates from within the wallet only concern GUI updates ..
with that functionality, we can't do client/core upgrades ... We have this features for a later time, when hard forks become rare .. like once or twice a year or so ..

Well then the terminology is incorrect and should be changed, because that's what everyone expects when they read the words "Check for Updates" in the main menu.

Then they click it...
And it does not find the update they just read about.
And BOOM, loss of confidence in the coding of a product that is supposed to hold your money.

The same thing happens in 0.7, no updates found.

In linux debian (and Ubuntu),
For BitShares core (console) client,
'manual install' is as easy as

1) downloading the latest client (bitshares-0.7.0-linux-x86_64.tar.gz at the moment) from   https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares/releases/

2) unpacking

3) running 'bitshares_client' executable file

From my experience in debian 7.*, running GUI client takes some extra steps (installing qt etc).
