Synchronization tooks ages. Why is this unsolved?

Hey mirrax :)
Yep, the downloadable clients take like 5 hours to synce right now, but from what I have heard on the mumbles, the Core Devs are upgrading to a whole new database on the backend this year. That upgrade alone is speed everything up and increase our transactions per second as well.

I can sync in 1 hour.   But your milage may vary.

So what is the trick? I am syncing second day and 77% now...
Did you add some nodes or what?

Gigabit connection to the internet.

is there a way to offer the blockchain via torrent? tried it with just zipping the chain, but my client won't load it after unzipping

That actually should be possible.
It is.
There is plenty of ways how to address this problem and this is one of them for sure.

I sync in less than an hour with my 16GB machine.

My 4GB machine takes a lot longer.

They are good people.  I have respect after meeting them not only because they figured out DPoS was a great solution, but also because of who they are.
