Okay, thanks.  It worked. +5% Too bad since I'm on a capped internet, but that's the way new software goes. Thank you both for your hard work and strong presence both in the forums and software development.

We've identified some problems with our strategy of handling hardforks that could leave people stuck like this. For now the most sure way is probably to fully resync with --resync-blockchain or deleting chain folder.

Yes, I tried to figure it out on .8, but I just downloaded .8.1 and I'm still having the issue.
