How much is left in the way of startup funds for the developers? Or is all development now dependent on dilution funds?
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqTwk-e7yzJydDFnQmlkTVlkbWpubnJBbzR2UG5ucnc&usp=sharing#gid=0
this may help?
Maybe, thanks Krills. The way I interpret the spreadsheet is that 2100 BTC remained unspent and in cold storage as at 18 November last year, but I'm not familiar with it. Question is what's left? And how does that compare to dilution pay?

Hi mostar, welcome to the forum!

It's my understanding that the core devs are running one or more delegates that have naturally been voted in as 100% paid positions.  Some of those are being run on behalf of a core dev.  In the future it is possible that a single delegate might fund a hundred developers/entire software house, clearly we're not there yet.

With the market cap & price where it is, if a developer is unable to continue to fund their efforts via BTS, we'll need to find alternative funding, perhaps from a VC who can see the potential of Bitshares.  Naturally, the core devs are extremely important to Bitshares continued success.....however, given what has been built already, I believe that the platform will continue to grow regardless of any hurdles, it just may take longer.

I expect that to date, the devs have been funded via a combination of startup capital, self-funding & BTS selling.

Others who are better informed may well jump in here if I have any of this wrong!  All the best.....

Hello,
My impression is that Bitshares development and future, is heavily dependent on  Bytemaster and his core developer team.
I was wonder by who and how well they are funded?
Are the developers that are delegate (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yrif9uThwSY) are part of the Bytemaster team?
Dose in the current situation delegate fee can sustain full time developer?
Thanks

Hi mostar and Welcome!
ByteMaster (BM) is one of many here at BitShares.
I live in Munich, Germany. Some of us live in Michigan, some in Virginia, we're all over the place as a distributed team, a true DAC.

Funding comes from all of us shareholders.

If I get voted in as a Delegate, my pay will go up as I add value to the BitShares DAC. For just an example, here is my Delegate Proposal:

I hope that helps a bit, but if you have more questions, I'm here for you.
Just let me know, thanx mostar and again, Welcome! :)
