This is a rather late reply since I just saw your thread after it got "woken up" by another posting, but you can sell your bitUSD here if you still have it: http://blocktrades.us

We don't require a memo, so it should get around your problem.

cheers,

Dan

I have to do a custom transaction to make this work.  Do you really want me to take a good part of the day and make a update it with a custom binary format to make this work?  This is not an issue in 2.0.  We did discuss this in the meeting, it is not as simple as changing the memo length.  How necessary is it to have this for the next 30 - 40 days?
I just saw your comment here
https://github.com/bitshares/bitshares-js/issues/92#issuecomment-138371687
Sorry for pinging you james ..

@devlux: Issue is .. the webwallet has to construct the raw transaction in javascript .. this is basically working very well and is implemented for most features already .. except shorting and extended memos ..
Problem with this is human resources (as usual) .. james is very busy doing an awesome job in the graphene-ui and since the upgrade is coming closer which will make things in that regards alot easier .. his time is certainly better invested doing graphene ..

I feel your pain though

Bump!  This is still an issue on the web wallet 3 months later.  Come on guys, seriously please fix this it's a real usability concern.  I'd like to bring people over but no one will take me seriously because I can't even transfer funds.

and it's the standard message Metaexchanges requires.
Yes ... a few months back we had a shorter max length for the memo .. and it may be that the bitshares-js library on which the webwallet is based on has not implemented the higher may length ..

also paging @monsterer and @Shentist

you are correct. I tried it myself. on the webwallet the memo field seems to have the old field lenght. So hopefully they will update it soon!

That may be a bug in BitShares-JS .. it seems it uses a too restrictive parameter for the length of the message
