That's what I want and need then - level 3.

Any ETA on activating this via CCEDk?

Will CCEDk offer level 3?

I am still expecting/hoping end of next week for the time of activation access on CCEDK, but will will know much more early next week.

Yes, we will be able to offer the same

I will wait and activate it then.  I travel about 1/4 of my life, so I will givethis card a run for it's money -  :P

I will test it in a few locations and see how it goes.

So Ronnie - if I want to make this a card I can do large transactions on if I wish, how would I do that?

For instance, I am hosting a business function, dinner is going to cost a couple thousand dollars, I want to take out this card and spend bitUSD to pay the bill and show everyone at the table.

That will get their attention.

I like the way you think, and definitely that would make somebody look a lttle closer at that card from the future, wonder actually if it wasn't featured in one of the episodes of Back to the future :) ;)

I think you will need level 3 for this kind of purpose as @Riverhead mentioned, thanks

Level 2 is what we consider at CCEDK as being validated according to compliance mentioned on site

Level 3 is more like being credited by a bank an requires a bit more information and documentation, and from what I read from bit-x site you you have then unlimited accesss to spen up to some 180000 eur, I think that should do it for one night, otherwiese all you need is a second card to pull out :)

Joke aside, its not simple but I believe it is possible to get the level 3 verification, will try to ask Bit-x if they have experiences already with some people having achived this level.

Looks like you'd need level 3 ID verification as level 2 only goes up to 2500 Euros. Not sure what that requires but I suspect it'd be sending in copies of your government issued ID and a utility bill.

No name. It's like a Visa gift card you can buy at stores.

I am just hoping that it really will work at most locations world wide, as claimed. Can't wait to test it myself, or hear reports from other users around the world.

If you cannot work it any place mastercard is accepted you will definitely have to say so, as it is supposed to :)

Got mine in the mail today!  Super excited to try it out.

It doesn't have my name on it though, was it supposed to?

It just has Bit-x.com

Could be a problem if someone wanted to ask for ID -

Thoughts?

Not sure if you know, but you can wait to activate it on CCEDK for later next week according to what I have been told i.e., or you can activate now on bit-x according to instructions in letter. be sure to keep all for activation time.

you can always ask to have card with name, it costs extra though, thats the embossed part

if someone ask for id, hmm, i did have that in my mind earlier, but think that if smaller amounts involved as a specific travel card for emgencies, then its ok right now with pin code, i would imagin.

If I was going to use it with bigger amounts I would get a card with my name on it for sure.

Rgds

I got mine yesterday. It didn't have my name on it either, but I was not expecting it to.

I am waiting (impatiently) for the transition to CCEDK before I activate because I don't see the point of making another activation fee payment.

Hi CCEDK, I've just noticed that you are a forum moderator.
Is this just limited to the CCEDK sub-forum?

Else I can see a conflict of interest, how do we know there aren't lots of other bts exchanges who have had their posts deleted? ;)
I jest, but I still think it a valid point for concern as the ecosystem grows and competitors enter the space.

Nothing personal against you guys :)

I must admit, have not conidered being moderator on anything else but CCEDK related, so I await for this to be clarified by any of the other moderators like @fav

That being said I believe in competition to make everything best possible, but I also believe in information flow and building an eco system on a step by step basis, or everything will head for so many directions that focus is lost and finally outcome is lost as well. :)

I also realize that I have a tendency to involve myself more than any other exchanges would normally do, so the reason for little amount of forum posts from other exchanges might be based on the definition of commitment from an exchange to the different crypto currencies out there.

In short, just because I might be the only representative from any of your bts exchanges actively posting, I hope it is purely considered positively, as I basically do this because I care, not because I feel I have to :)

We love you here :)

And we come back to why are procedures engaged when applying to *credit* being applied on a *debit* card.

That, my friend, is the question.

p.s I'm not saying it's right or wrong, agree or disagree, just want to understand a) the reasoning behind this and b) potential privacy implications for those who apply for level 3.

1. I believe I have already explained in above comments why procedures are engaged as they are for level 3
2. no different to anyone applying for a creditcard

Let me rephrase the question in another way.

Which checks happen at level 3 that do not happen at level 2 ?

I cannot tell you really, as it is the bank issuer of the card doing this check, and based on the questions asked to include this I choose to compare this with same procedure asking for a creditcard, allowing you credit on the card for a certain period of time.

Thank you for the replies Ronny.

I understand that the above is for level 2, what I was wondering about is why the requirement for a credit check on the bank part when you already have the customer identification.

In my understanding (could be wrong) a credit check is about knowing if the person has paid back loans in a timely manner and possibly how many outstanding loans there are right now. All of that seems irrelevant in a situation where the user cannot spend any more than he puts in.

What am I missing?

My explanation is for you to understand that same questions more or less apply to getting the level 3, as would be for applying for a credit card, it does not mean that there is any relation to a credit check as such, and nobody is saying this, but for me if I want explain it, that's the way I see it,hope that makes it more clear.

Could you elaborate further? You already request a copy of an id document and proof of residence, is this not enough ?

And regarding the linked article, are you aware of this and if so, has ccedks' IBAN been flagged, to the best of your knowledge?

How receptive is Denmark to data fishing expeditions?

The above is for a level 2

Again these rules are made by issuer's of card and we cannot as such do much about it. That being said, just becasue we have a level three right now, does not mean we will keep having this in future as well! At CCEDK our aim is to be able in future to create a very nice level of consumption with card on the base of level 2 requirements more or less that is, but we need to have quite a bit more active users to have enough pull to request this.

and I dont know about our IBAN being flagged and doubt it even to be so,

yoour last question, I can only say that in Denmark Privacy regulations and rules are considered with high priority, and only issues suspecting or involving illegal activities set aside any of this.

level 3 is based on bank making a credit check/approval on you as a person, similar to getting a normal credit card in the bank, it means it is the same conditions needed to have theapporval as if you were applying for a normal credit card.

What is the reasoning behind this, seeing as no credit is involved?

Also, what is ccedk stance on this? http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/06/26/are-european-banks-keeping-tabs-on-bitcoin-transactions/
[/quote]

Considering the amount of people out there, who is unfortunately havng bitcoins obtained the illegal way! This kind of level 3 validation I feel is needed to insure you are always able to know your customer (KYC) in case of illegal issues. It is like with anything else involving illegal activities, that no matter the agreements or clauses that might protect your privacy all bets are off in case of any suspicion involving money laundering, terror based activities etc. Its not a rule I have created, it does however make me feel good that I am part of limiting these kind of activities. Again, situation has to be severe for informatio to be shared, and at CCEDK our aim is to always follow and abide with the rules an regulations of Denmark. It also means that countries within EC still have their own and separate ways of looking at matters when it comes to bitcoin or crypto related activities.

When it comes to that article you mention, I think that none of us can allow ourselves to be naive to think  that if we change our bitcoins to fiat nobody will ever know about it, so it's important to have your answers ready just in case, but this is just my personal view and opinion on this. As we know this whole spectre of information flow is changing every week, and I think the only way to insure personal success with crypto, as long as fiat as a currncy is needed ,is to play out things and projects in an honest and realistic way always bearing in mind that tomorrow is a new day with new challenges.

Once you have received your NanoCard and start to use, please do support this by sharing your experiences for other users to know about it and to help spread the word, thanks.

This is a card moving forward and all kinds of constructive criticism is welcome in order to create an overall one of kind WOW effect and a great user experience.

Many features will be added in future and combined with the constantly decreased overall costs, it is hard to see what should stop this card from being the future No. 1 choice of consumers worldwide when deciding which way to spend their hard earned money.

I invite all Bitshares forum to take part in writing history!

Level 2 is the id and proof of residency as well as phone number, level 3 with unlimited use is whe you are approved via bank, so it is a little more time consuming, andI guess would be a lot similar to if you were applying for a normal credit card and what that would involve. Even this part where we need the banks involved is another matter worked on with one of our partners as it seems to limit the amount of users if thi will be an ongoing requirement, so there is a lot of work in trying to work around this in time, that is.

What is the procedure for being approved by the bank? Which bank? And what sort of information do they request?

To know more about limits and fees, I suggest you go to the nanocard webpage on CCEDK and click on link there https://www.ccedk.com/nanocard

http://ccedk.mojohelpdesk.com/help/article/141051 is the link where the info actually is, for anyone else investigating.

Any work connected with 2.0 is still not settled, as i would otherwise think you should not be sitting down, but simply run around with your arms up not being able to take them down of sheer excitement :) Well we haven't reached that point yet, but I hope within a few days to be able to reveal some more information on what the future brings for Bitshares in connection with CCEDK and in which way CCEDK will be participating. I am myself thrilled to see what will be the result and in which way I will be able to put some extra value on the Bitshares Network. I guess that's all I can say for now.

So much mystery..:D

Can you explain the reason United States users can't verify identity to unlock higher limits? Is there any strategic direction or work around being pursued to enable this or are U.S. laws simply too draconian?

For now the US laws are keeping the access to higher limits complicated. I trust however, that one of my partners are working hard in trying to find some compromise or solution, but time will show on that.

@ccedk:

When BTS 2.0 comes out, will the NanoCard make use of the new withdraw system ? (ie the funds can stay on the users' side)
(think I already asked but couldn't find the thread :-X)

If a user buys one *now*, will it transparently start working w/ above when you implement the logic on your side?

What is the deposit limit? Some other (bitcoin) cards i checked had lame 2500€ limits.. and then the user'd need to order a new card.

Thanks!

hello Karnal,

To know more about limits and fees, I suggest you go to the nanocard webpage on CCEDK and click on link there https://www.ccedk.com/nanocard

If you have not already gone to give your support to the NanoCard hightalk campaign please do, I need this to break some walls once goal is achieved, and it will only be in your interest to make this happen a.s.a.p. If you dont have access to any of the social networking platforms tell some of your friends who does and tell them the good stuff in supporting this campaign.

The idea with the card is to be able to build on the inside with whatever amount of currencies possible to add based on their available support in terms of constant and ongoing liquidity on exchange. Once the liquidity support is created a currency can be added, and what we are working on is being able to put these different currencies in some sort of priority decided by user depending on which one you want to be the one funding your expenses out in the real world using your NanoCard.

I don't know but if the NanoCard will work with Smartcoins this is majors news!!!  For the first time, you could see a real life example on how you could use bitAssets. This is one very easy to understand  example for everybody to see why bitAssets are so much superior to whatever else  it is out there Bitcoin included. Say that you want to load your credit card with bitUSD, bitGold or bitSilver well now you could do so now with MasterCard NanoCard !!! I truly hope this will work out as planned, and hope Bitshare community will give you the support you need to make this reality. Great work Ronny Boesing and welcome to the community.
Waiting  for my bitcoin transfer to order my NanoCard !!!

hello @oco101 thank you,

And I truly hope as well to b able to launch this very soon within a few months is what I hope is all it takes.

Because Uncle Sam and the IRS are hellbent on keeping Americans prisoners to their greed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_Account_Tax_Compliance_Act

People have been giving up their US citizenship because of this, well now the cost to do so has more than quadrupled :D
http://money.cnn.com/2014/12/10/pf/taxes/expat-passport-citizenship-renounce/

"Earlier this year, the government increased the renunciation fee to $2,350, more than four times what it used to cost.

On top of that, some U.S. citizens are slapped with a giant "exit tax" bill -- sometimes millions of dollars -- when they renounce."

Such police state, wow.

It's increasingly becoming a liability to be owned by the US government.

A direct spend ability using bitUSD, or any of the other bitassets, is exactly what we need for the BTS project to explode (in a good way)!
