I could not get any connections using ProtoShares/src/bitcoind (from github.com:InvictusInnovations/ProtoShares.git).  I then started the Windows Wallet and it connected and started synchronizing right away.

This will help: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=172.msg1438#msg1438

Yes tried restarting computer as well as the client. Strangely it has processed one more block now its stuck on 12159 but its been like that for 30mins.

I checked the hard drive to be sure there is space to download onto. Any other ideas?

Very odd.. quit and relaunch ProtoShares-Qt to see if it will get unstuck.

Tried it on a new system today, with a decent internet connection.
It took about 30 minutes before getpeerinfo showed a connection, and then another 10 minutes to get 5 peers and update completely.

Newbies that join up on Jan 1st will not be too happy if the wallet appears broken without manual steps to get it working.
There is still time to test a fix.
Will there be a new wallet release with a new or bigger seed node list before then?

Not sure if this a noob question but if you want to seed a new node, how do you do it?

Where can get fresh nodes because none works for me now (some worked before)?

Reliable cloud based node, maxconnections=2000, currently connected 820:
Code: [Select]
cryptoseed.cloudapp.net

For everybody behind crazy firewalls:
Code: [Select]
cryptoseed.cloudapp.net:80

Using command:
Code: [Select]
protoshares-qt.exe -addnode=cryptoseed.cloudapp.net:80
or
protoshares-qt.exe -connect=cryptoseed.cloudapp.net:80

From console (Help -> Debug -> Console):
Code: [Select]
addnode cryptoseed.cloudapp.net:80 add

Seed Node IPs
« Reply #1 on: November 07, 2013, 05:00:10 pm »
Our seed nodes are constantly pegged at 500+ connections and it is making it hard for new people to join the network.   If you are having trouble connecting then you can add new nodes from the IP addresses posted on this thread.  Please post the IP address of your node to help support the network.
