The bounty is for the complete website which can be 'copy/ pasted' to the webserver and start going. If you have a team you have to split the bounty with your team members in the way you think is fair. I'm just proposing some ideas now and then but am not working on this site.

So does this bounty include the wording for the website (respectively for all the websites) as well? And the team would have to organize the texting as well as the web design? And the bounty is given as a whole to the person or team that delivers a website with text that is ready to be released? And then the team has to arrange itself how the bounty is split up? Or is it just the graphic design and the structure of the website (and its sub-sites)?

Yes of course there need to be some more information and probably different images / slogans but I think it's good to focus on what 3I wants to achieve first, and then tell the visitors how they're doing it. They have to be astonished

This has potential.

So the Invictus site starts with the movement while a BitShares site introduces a cross-tradable product line and other sites hit the visitor with just the business interface of each of the individual DACs?

So each site focuses on the interests and needs of a particular type of visitor rather than hitting everybody with every idea in parallel?

If you are coming to the Invictus site, you are interested in the problems we are addressing and the underpinning solutions we are pursuing.

If you are at the BitShares site, you are interested in investing, speculating and trading crypto-equities or at least learning all about the value propositions of the variety we sponsor.

If you are at the Lucky Robot Casino site, you just want to play bingo and don't care that it is run by BitShares, LKS?

Cross links tie them all together near the bottom.

plus a short explanation at the bottom or a link that directs you to a place where it is explained how everything is linked together. To make the user see that everything is transparent and that the different sites are there to simplify the explanation and not there to disguise something by making it difficult to see how everything is linked

What about a new kind of approach, at least for the homepage I think visitors should be triggered, even of they don;t know what it's about they should feel to have the opportunity to be part of something new, I suggest make the homepage as easy and inviting as possible without any technical terms, just our values, spare explanations aboutDAC's, Bitshares, Keyhotee for the sub pages.

A quick mock up of what I mean

I like the transparent front page. I also like the colors, until the end, where they look awkwardly shifted?

I think angleshares and protoshares can be lumped under  ~"invest now."
And Domainshares can go under Bitshares.
That leaves "Bitshares," "Keyhotee," and "Invest now!"

How about a scrolling front pad like IBM.com has?
Learning about these things should be fun and exciting.
There could be three pads, with each of the above with
a great logo, a heading, short sentence(s) and learn more.
The email signup can be placed below this or after.

I also think (all of) the design(s) lack engagement. A buzz and excitement
that something is happening. Suggestions:

Youtube/facebook/twitter links along with forum and wiki and search,
like top right here http://pirateparty.org.au/

Alert-like space for "now hiring " (bounties) or important deadlines and news.
And I also think a chat is a good idea but it might be too much ;)

Basically things that make the front page seem more exciting and alive,
where you feel the buzz and just want to join in on the party or revolution! :)

I guess this vision is totally different from most designs so far. It would be
a lot less stylish and more cluttered with all this stuff. Thoughts?

    • Bitsapphire - The web development group that makes disruptive startups happen
Hello bytemaster and community!

Holidays here are done and we’ve been working on our design and initial slicing.

This is the preliminary work http://bitsapphire.com/invictus/prev/

We’ve changed some things based on the communities feedback. The design is still clean, but now creates a feeling of “a new beginning” (all IP is OK).

We’re concentrating on the previously determined core function of the site, namely the conversion of visitors to signed up potential users. For that reason we’re experimenting with different ways to get the visitors attention to the signup form without breaking the clean design. The UX of the signup form is still not finished but it’s on the right track.
We will add:
  • partial email checking (whether the user gave a potentially real email e.g. name@example.com)
  • some more dynamics to the text
  • an non-intrusive flashing of the signup button once the email is given
  • a dynamic text after the signup telling the user to check his email

Other elements to do:
  • fade-in loading of the front image.
  • the menu will shrink a tiny bit when the user starts scrolling
  • we’re still experimenting with the best way to highlight individual categories within the menus on hover-over
  • clicking on the price in the menu slides down an interactive graph (in the next stage we’ll add a dummy graph without API data)
  • second signup form will be more interactive and dependent on the first signup.
  • fade-in of the text elements and a move-in of the icons

We believe that this design is extensible enough for most information displays that we could think of.
All in all the design is in the “Apple for the crypto community” camp.

We’re looking forward to everybody’s feedback!

Email signup is a good first step. But I believe support via phone and live chat are crucial for the average user. We are also selling a product; live support can use sales rhetoric to convince.

Lurking on forums is something only a native with tens of thousands of posts in their life can love.
