Running W2K8R2 X64 Dual Xeon E5410 16GB Ram

Here is my .bat I am running

mc2miner.exe --url http://mmcpool.1gh.com:8080 --threads 8 --noavx MLAh1fFbJbU4YLVMbS3VD81zeDbEDQp6gF
@pause

Here is the error I am getting. Tried with and without AES-I even though I know my CPU's don't support it. Tried different threads also, works fine on my i7-2600k desktop running win7 64.

Any having similar problems?

I have this error too. I have Athlon x3 425. What i doing wrong? I set --noavx - error not going too.

How are you guys configuring this? Through a bat file or run command? I am a little lost. I have a  bunch of dual xeon e5410's but they do not support AES-I and was recommended this would be a good miner to use but I not sure how to change any of the values within the mc2miner.exe

Any will work. just feed it the correct parameters through cd "DIR" and run the miner executable with your specifics.

Also, use a batch file, it is easier to save your config.

I guess I am going to have to give YAM a tryout tonight then and see how it is.
Thanks for the info.

Seems like he ditched the project ever since yvg came through with YAM MMC capabilities.

Hi I was just wondering if you are close to a new release again?
I've been using the latest and it seems to be the best of the 3 I tried so far.

Exactly how much cpu time are we donating to support the next version?
I've seen the message come up more than three times in the past few hours.

In the edited OP he states that it mines for 30 seconds to start and 30 seconds every hour.

And that's about 0.83% of your CPU time!

Well, its good to have it stated upfront nice and clear, and not hidden.
So, its just the users choice after all!

This new version is also causing my Win 7 64 bit PC to crash also. MC2Miner is the only program running on it. When I switch back the delta version I get no problems.

Btw, the OpenCL kernel is stolen from my closed-source miner, do not expect any better performance from it :)

Thanks!  I'm actually on windows here, but my cloud server is Linux.  I want to get it onto the Linux server.  When I copied the other program I used
Code: [Select]
git clone https://github.com/glitchman/mmcminer.
Naturally, that won't work here as this file is on rapidshare.  I tried
Code: [Select]
wget http://rapidshare.com/share/3BACFA7FD98BE772D770BBFFC2C900E3/mc2miner-0.1d-linux64.tar.gz which makes a something called mc2miner-0.1d-linux64.tar.gz (it's listed in red when I look at the directory).  Now what?  Or what do I need to change some syntax?
Hi, you could follow these steps:

1) download the file to windows
2) install a sftp client (such as https://filezilla-project.org/‎)
3) connect to your remote server (the protocal is sftp) with your login credentials
4) upload to your server

maybe not the optimal but it works..

Excellent!  Thank you.

Linux noob question:  How would I copy and install this to my Linux cloud server?  I am currently using minerd at MMC Pool

download the file as "filename.tar.gz", then
# scp filename.tar.gz user@yourserver.com
no need to compile and install, as it is binary...

Chrome reports "mc2miner-0.1d-win64.zip is malicious, and Chrome has blocked it." It downloads correctly on IE. Must be rapidshare.

Thanks. 5000MMC on its way to you. Keep up the good work.
Try not to include 25 seconds of donation CPU time in the next version after receiving ~$2k -- I know that you just got the tip. ;)

Intel I5 2500k stock clock gets 1.6H/m with --noavx.
LINUX Dual L5639 now gets 7.89 H/m [[up from 6.0]] --noavx --threads 256

AMD CPUs gain 8-14% using --noavx

Very impressive!

On an i7 3770, I'm seeing 2.85 h/m (bundled 32bit miner) to 3.95 h/m . . 72% improvement.

You're helping to make CPUs more competitive and that's vital to the success of the whole project. Thank you.

I've spent some time optimizing the algorithms, now performs 20% faster than the original CPU miner (~3.5HPM on my i7).
Now it's the alpha test version, and only supports CPU with AESNI and AVX or SSE4 (use --noavx parameter) instruction sets.

usage: mc2miner [--url url] [--threads number] [--noavx] [--idle] [your wallet address]

Thanks so much for this! I'm sorry I missed it, I've been a bit pre-occupied. Have you got an address for tips?

I own a Dual Xeon 5670 with AES-NI extension but while i try to using it the program crash.
If i use the --noavx everithing works great !

At the moment i'm getting 12,6 work/min

can you help me ? i use win8 pro 64bit.

thanks

Your CPU does not support the AVX instruction set: http://ark.intel.com/products/47920/
Using SSE4 is slower than AVX by 3% in average

With standart miner i have 11-12 HPM stable on pool stats.

Here is the script I use to make it work with a dual L5639
Change <ADDRESS> to your MMC address.

wget http://ge.tt/api/1/files/5YYDYhC1/0/blob?download
tar -xvf blob?download
echo '#! /bin/bash' > run.sh
echo 'while true; do ./mc2miner --url http://mmcpool.1gh.com:8080 --threads 8 --noavx --idle <ADDRESS>; sleep 1; done' >> run.sh
chmod +x run.sh
screen -A -m -d -S mmc1 ./run.sh &
screen -A -m -d -S mmc2 ./run.sh &
screen -A -m -d -S mmc3 ./run.sh &

If this helped: MMuQj9wZQyepNL1SkKkDaCaHFmo4DqkYFb
why you run it 3 times?
--threads 24 ?

Hello,

I own a dual xeon 5670 and I've tried to using your program but something goes wrong and I got a crash.
I've also tried to change the threads option, to launch the program as administrator but nothing was happened.
The only message I got was that the program has found the Aes-Ni instructions.

Many thanks in advance

It hangs after 5s on Ubuntu, CPU is dual L5639 so it should be supported..

Edit: 8 threads works fine, anything above that makes it hang.
Edit2: Solution is just start 3 instances, so they will use 24 threads total
It seems to be a bug. Fixed in 0.1c version. Thank you for reporting.

Hi, thanks for the work!

Cloud you provide a direct download link without installing any downloader
software? It is a bit inconvenient... Thanks.

Supposedly my L5639 runs much faster with 256 threads.

Great work!  I am seeing 4.7/s where I was seeing 3.5/sec on a 4770k.  I am also running a dual opteron with a total of 32 cores.  I am getting 7/sec.  Any chance you are working on an AMD version?  Orare the performance benefits AESNI based?

mc2miner.exe --url http://mmcpool.1gh.com:8080 --threads 8 --noavx --idle MB5bR7FC9sr4csBBkFeDWYMVWmHpJJYi5u

This is what I am running on Win7 64bit and it crashes immediately. I've also tried --aesni

I am having trouble with the bat file can anyone post theirs. The app keeps closing immediately.

Thanks
That maybe caused by your CPU/OS not supporting specific instruction set. At least AESNI should be supported. If AVX is not supported, try adding --noavx parameter to use SSE4 instead.

From the reply seems more speedups on high-end CPUS ("no improvement" on i5, ~20% on i7, lot more on "24 thread server")
Is there any MMC pools who support XPT protocol? Seems better than HTTP getwork.
I don't have a MAC :(

For me it is as a miracle, do you think can optimize it more?

What's source code your miner based on? MMCMiner?
Starting everything from scratch, only followed the log format and the RPC.

You should probably say this at that start of the thread:

[16:47:28] Will mine 21 more seconds for miner developers to support development
 of the next version

WARNING: THIS 'ALPHA' VERSION STEALS 21 OR MORE SECONDS OF YOUR CPU TIME.

No improvement really. I5 2500k is running at the same speeds.
I use process lasso and everything works out fine after setting this process to idle.

To be fair: it's about a 20% increase for Intel CPUs.

Djemi, No, he is not yvg1900 :)

But as soon as we have another miner dev, I will jump in, too.

MMC support in yam will come. I am not checking which pool is technically advanced enough to be first picked.

The best one was xram.co, but unfortunately it is closed. So we will see which one will be flrxible enough to do technically right things.

Is it possible to make a version for mac?

Well, thats a niche market...  ;D
What would be the demand for that?

The only way thats happening is if
a) it's really really fast and simple (I doubt that)
b) the developer (optimizer I should say) I a Mac fan himself

I'm sure demand will increase over time!

Only time will tell... 8)

Will you release the source code? If not, linux version?

Please, include virustotal report...

Linux version will be a lot of work since I used a lot of Win32 stuffs
Maybe I will spend another day to do it

INTRODUCTION

mc2miner is a MemoryCoin 2.0 miner for CPU with high performance. GPU mining is also supported. It can be used on any mining pool which implement the HTTP getwork protocol.

COMMAND LINE ARGUMENTS

--url URLSpecify the URL of the pool. The URL should starts with "http://". The pool should implement the HTTP getwork protocol. The default value is "http://work.mmcpool.com".
--threads numberSpecify the thread number for CPU mining. To achieve maximum performance, we recommend setting the thread number equivalent to your CPU thread numer, that is, for hyperthreading cores, it is counted as two threads. If you also do GPU mining on the same machine, consider setting this value by the thread number of CPU minus one, to achieve better performance of the GPU miner.
--noavxUse SSE4 instruction set instead of AVX (default). This is for those machine who does not support AVX and will slightly decrease the miner performance (~3%).
--idleTry to make the mining process in background. In current implementations we use idle priority on Windows and idle scheduler on Linux. Currently this option has no effect for GPU mining.
--gpu idUse the GPU specified by id instead of the CPU for mining. The id starts from zero. To get a full list of the GPU devices supported in your system, set id to "-1". Currently this option is not supported in Linux versions.
your wallet addressYour MMC wallet address.
