Show something good on the front page

I really do think this is pretty good thinking. however i think it will take time to get to the point where something like this will be seen.  love the idea though.  spot on with user behavior. :)

I strongly agree with this sentiment. What OpenLedger needs is a good landing page, because if we are going to refer people there and it just looks like a login screen, who the heck is going to sign up? It's one thing if you route them there from an explanatory web page, but if that's the landing page from some random link or invitation they've clicked, not knowing what they're getting into, then it doesn't provide much chance of converting that referral into a user.

I agree, this makes sense.

Why not showing for example BTS:BitUSD or other market possible BitCNY at the background, a little darker and with transparency with the sign up page we currently have on top?

So people would get to sign up but at the same time be able to check a little the market interface? And if they clicked anywhere else other than the text boxs, the sign up page would fade away and they could fully see the market interface.

I am comparing the page that is 1 easy click away from the poloniex.com frontpage, vs the page that I get frustratingly redirected to after 3 clicks on https://bitshares.openledger.info (and https://bitshares.org/wallet), when I attempt to look at the markets without an account.

You get the problem right? How is BitShares supposed to spread virally if its impossible for non-registered users to find out that there is even trading activity going on?

99% of visitors get bored within 3 seconds of your website and will move onto something else unless there is something that grabs them.

Visitors want to see a real exchange with activity first, then they will register and maybe deposit into it. I havent shared a link to BitShares to anyone in over a year. The last time I did I was buried as an altcoin spammer, and that would still happen if I shared this today. It needs to look less like a wallet and more like a real exchange.

Just my opinion. If it changes then I might actually start sharing links to BitShares again.
