There was a hard chainfork in block 121xx-something, so you need at least v0.2 to sync the new blockchain.

your wallet client is too old, since you have backed up your wallet.dat, why don't you download the latest version client, and then recover the wallet.dat?  This is the window version with nodes built in   http://protoshares.net/bin/ProtoShares-0.4.0.zip
Well, I have tried that but it didn't work. I am not sure that I have make the things the good way though.
Please can you explain me what exactly I should do to recover the wallet.dat on the latest client?

Arcke, I am with windows 8, the client version is protoshares-qt 0.1. Right now I start it by going into my folder user/x/appdata/roaming/protoshares.

(At the begining I install and run it since Users/x/downloads/Protoshares but when I have my problem I moved it to user/x/appdata/roaming/protoshares to see if that would solve it.)

try to delete everything in the folder appdata/roaming/protoshares except your wallet.dat, then re-install the 0.4.0 wallet client

Are you sure you have connections? If you don't try adding some nodes manually.
Yes I have 11 active connections right now.

But since my conf file have maxconnection=1 does that mean my conf file is not working?

Yes, it seems so. The value for maxconnections specifies the maximum number of inbound and outbound connections according to bitcoin wiki.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin

Not really sure, but you can try making the value at least 2. Otherwise, can you give some more details? Like OS, client version, folder layout and how you start the protoshares client.

Why do you have maxconnections=1 in your conf file? It defaults to 8. In the case of 8 connections. When a node drops you still have some spares and you need at least 1 connection to get blocks or new connections.

Hi,

I installed pts-qt 0.1 in early november. The wallet was synchronized fine. I received 125.5 PTS and I made a wallet.dat

Then I didn't open it for months. And now whn I try to run it the sync stops at block 12160 (from then it keeps running forever with no progress). I have try to start with -reindex and it don't change anything.

The problem is that I have try to run my wallet.dat file on another PC but it didn't work, so I think my only option is to make to synchronize that wallet. What sould I do?

If that can help, my conf file is :
Quote
server=1
daemon=1
rpcuser=<snip>
rpcpassword=<snip>
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=15555
port=15554
timeout=500
#datadir=e:\bitcoin
#dbcache=1000
gen=0
listen=0
maxconnections=1
irc=0
upnp=0
#keypool=1
dns=0
logtimestamps=1
par=8

connect=5.9.24.81
connect=5.9.24.81
