Of course! You may certainly post the videos in the Bitshares Playlist on the official Bitshares channel. These videos are owned by the Bitshares community, through this worker proposal. Just let me know if you need me to provide the original .mp4 file format.

If we get the voting support of @bitcrab, we can start production again. My top priority is shorts and margin calls for smartcoins like BitCNY.

I feel these videos should be posted with a creative commons licence on a bitshares channel as well as your own personal channel.
With a CC licence I would be happy to vote for this worker proposal again.

Do I have permission to upload these videos to the bitshares youtube channel?
I run the @bitshares twitter handle

This worker is not currently funded. We need the voting support of about 65M more BTS in order to continue video production. I've posted an update on the videos produced so far: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,23612.0.html

I would be open to it, but I'm not sure that it would be better for shareholders. It may not even benefit the BitUSD market. Imagine the hypothetical: if the worker wants to sell the BitUSD, they may use force settlement to get the more liquid BTS, and then the entire effect is canceled.

Perhaps I'm missing something, though. The idea of paying workers with BitUSD should be discussed further.

@Chronos
Would you agree to get paid in bitUSD following the process proposed by Xeroc here ?

This would mitigate the sell pressure on BTS while allowing us to fund your work & increase bitUSD liquidity at the same time.

@bitcrab
Would this fit the Chinese community better ?

Worker
Given that a worker will be voted in for quite some time, I would like to propose a new model of running a worker:
  • I will create a new account, upgrade it to LTM and make it multisig with the committee account and trusted members of the comunity
  • The worker will redeem it's funds on a regular basis and buy up bitUSD from the market (only up to +5% above market)
  • If the market doesn't offer sufficient bitUSD, the worker account will borrow bitUSD at 2.5x collateral
  • For this reasons, the actual pay of the worker is 2.5x the USD value
  • The worker will only pay the agreed amount of money and only in bitUSD to me
  • Every thing that is not paid out after the end of the worker will be settled and returned to the reserve fund

Thank you!  :) I would be honored to have your delegate vote for this worker. I hope you will consider supporting it.

My goal is that we may be able to find a solution to bring this worker alive again. I believe that the videos can be a great resource for the Bitshares community.

@Chronos ,you can make Videos and get money in Steemit.Or create a UIA like VIBERZ   .
The investors lose too much blood,we need BTS deflation at this difficult time.
Hi @ebit, those are good ideas. So far, I've felt that those routes wouldn't be effective at raising funds, which is why I haven't pursued them as an alternative at this time.

I have good news, though: the investors have not "lost blood" to this worker since its creation. In fact, as you can see from my YouTube worker account, I have not spent or sold a single BTS at the time of this writing. The BTS earned by this worker have been kept entirely off the market, which has been a boon to the market price. From one perspective, you might say that this worker has cost investors nothing. Of course, that doesn't mean I'll never sell any BTS, but you can rest assured, I'm a big supporter of Bitshares, just as you are.

today after some discussion in China community, bitcrab proxy decided to vote down this worker proposal.
now BTS is in very low price, we need to try everything we can to restore the confidence of the market, including stopping unimportant payment.
@bitcrab I respect your decision. I'm working on another video that I will complete and publish later this week despite the lack of funding. From there, we will need to get this worker voted in before further work will be done. Thank you!

Deflation is at an all-time low.. we have less bts now coming into the market now than ever. At what point is it no longer a difficult time?

Can you do a video on governance?
Do you mean a video on how the Bitshares committee works? That's actually one of the topics I'm working on right now.  :)

Getting paid >$50 a day and having no new videos for >40 days makes me feel like I can no longer vote for this worker.
The last video came out on Nov 24, and today is Dec 14, so that makes 19 days without a video -- not anything like 40 days! You're right, though; I'm running a bit behind schedule. I purchased a ceiling-mount green-screen to improve the videos, but it arrived damaged, and a new one is being sent. I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results. My goal is to produce three more videos by the end of the year.

Putting more emphasis on distribution would be cool, it doesn't seem like the videos are really getting very many eyeballs, but they will be a good educational tool for the future.
I agree, the videos are really useful for bringing newcomers up to speed. I pointed someone to the Bitshares Playlist earlier today when they messaged me on an altcoin forum asking which coins were "hot" these days. Do you have any other suggestions on how to get the word out?

Great stuff so far though!
Thank you! Feel free to post more video suggestions in this thread. I value your opinions.

The next video has been released! Bitshares Merger Vesting Ends

Fantastic! I hope this is in-depth and leave no unanswered questions about what it was and what it means now that it is over.

Could You add/make Video about Margin Trading on DEX
http://docs.bitshares.org/bitshares/user/dex-margin-mechanics.html
or we need another proposal for this ?
This is the perfect worker proposal for this feature, and it's on the list of potential videos. I'll increase its priority. Which do you think is most important to produce first?
  • A presentation about the mechanics of BTS Margin Trading, to make the blockchain rules easy to understand
  • A demonstration of using Margin Trading in the web wallet, while glossing over some of the specific details of the blockchain mechanics

I think the most important is to produce (all) the differences in relation to the systems they are familiar with, I mean exchanges such as Bitfinex and Poloniex – new users will come from thease exchanges.
Honestly show some lack of functionality as it appears at this stage, maybe there will be new ideas on how to improve it.

What impact will two weeks+ of golden beverage drinking have on BitShares future, adoption or development?! :D
Probably none .. why should it?
In right circumstances the potion grants super powers :)

At least we met some guys that are well known in the blockchain space and made new contacts. Since BitShares hasn't paid my trip there, I don't really see why you are asking for direct benefits for BitShares (besides the obvious ones)?
Sorry if I sounded like interrogating or asking publicly about your private time. I was just giving a toast sort of thing to the cheerful event!
Hopefully everybody enjoyed their time!

@Stan You'll have to give me a hint: what is the meaning of this image?  :)

You asked where Xeroc is.
He's sitting to the right of KenCode.
Ken's team is turning Oktoberfest into a major BitShares conference.

This wiki entry should shed some light :)

The big scientific question here is:
What impact will two weeks+ of golden beverage drinking have on BitShares future, adoption or development?! :D

You have my vote!
Thank you! Once we have the support of @xeroc, we will be ready to roll. Does anyone have a way to contact him? He's been absent from the forums for nearly a month.

I have voted to approve this worker proposal.  I cannot thank you enough for your hard work and time.

These videos are worth 1000 fold their cost to have done.

Offline Chronos

We need your support! Cast your vote to produce Chronos Crypto Videos!

First, let me introduce myself. I've been around Bitshares since late 2014, back when workers and witnesses were combined as "delegates", and we ran v0.9 as a desktop client. Then in the summer of 2015, I contracted directly for Cryptonomex for a couple months, doing UI work for the light wallet. I've always been fascinated by the tech behind Bitshares.

For several years, I have run a Youtube channel under the brand Chronos Crypto, which consists primarily of news, lectures, walkthroughs, and product reviews. Check it out at https://www.youtube.com/c/ChronosCrypto.

The channel just completed it first worker term, which produced the following videos:
  • Intro to Bitshares, where we take a brief overview of some of the key features that make Bitshares stand out from other blockchain technologies.
  • Buying Bitshares the Easy Way, where we quickly demonstrate one of the easiest way to buy Bitshares: using a bridge inside the online wallet.
  • Bitshares Inflation Rate, where we take an in-depth look at the inflation rate, or change in the supply, of the core Bitshares token.

Below are a few ideas for future videos:

# Tech Lectures (Example video: Xtreme Thinblocks)
   - DPOS for Dummies (witness roles; the advantage over PoW)
   - Hired by the Blockchain (worker roles)
   - Power to the People (committee roles)
   - Decentralized Consensus (proxy voting)
   - What is a SmartCoin? (shorts and margin calls)
   - Peg All the Things (price feeds and forced settlement)
   - Refer a Friend (referral/registrar system)
   - Custom Account Permissions (Threshold accounts, weight-based accounts, and multi-sig accounts)
# Walkthroughs (Example video: Getting Started with Electrum)
   - Creating an account on OpenLedger
   - Trading on the DEX
   - Securing your wallet with cold storage
   - Creating and managing your own assets
   - Setting up a witness node
   - Buying a lifetime account for marketing referrals
# News & Announcements (Example video: Bitcoin Classic)
   - New features (stealth transactions, subsidizing market liquidity, trollbox in the DEX, etc.)
   - Announcements (new worker or witness proposal to consider)
   - Trending discussions

I propose to renew this worker role to produce valuable Bitshares videos under the Chronos Crypto brand. The YouTube channel has over 600 subscribers, and is well-known in the bitcoin community, so this content will be dual-purpose: to bring new users to the platform, and to help make Bitshares more comprehensible for all of us.

If elected, I will produce a minimum of 3 Bitshares-related videos per month, and publish them on the YouTube channel. In exchange, the worker role will be 500,000 BTS per month, which is the same rate as the prior worker term.

Here's a quick walkthrough video on how to show your support. Vote now.

(Note: I accidentally created a duplicate worker proposal for zero pay. Just be glad I burned $16 of BTS to create the duplicate, as you vote for the correct one.  :) )

Thank you!
