Ok, I'm done! I promise, I went to each and every one of these links. Whew....

Let me tell you first how I eliminated some of these. I did not count the link it if it was:
-  not written in english, (obviously, I need it in english to use on our site and I wasn't going to google translate all of them, which was probably 20% or more of those submitted, sorry I didn't think of that orginally, but english only).
- an announcement (hey! Check out Daniel Larimer coming to Atlanta)
- a blog that pointed to another article  (ex: a brief paragraph with, 'hey, check out this artice Joe Blow wrote') ....there were a lot of these
- was just a list and happens to mention us (ex: here's a list of 10 alt coins you should look at).
- a repost of our own content (hey, check out Stan's article on LTB), etc.
- and lastly, if I had seen it before, I didn't count it.
I was more than generous, giving credit at times for things that were certainly not "articles or press."

Thank you so much for everyone who contributed. I had no idea I'd get so many submissions. There were certainly a lot of nuggets I found in the list that we can use. Please, don't ask me about whether a specific link was counted or not. I was fair with how I counted these and I don't plan to go back and recount. :0)

Also, keep your eyes out for new bounties from marketing - I have some more "Easy Money" bounties that I'll post soon for those of you who are good at finding things.  All that being said, here are the winners and how many PTS they have won.

Jernau - 4PTS
38PTSWarrior - 13PTS  (congrats on quality links and being super fast to post them. Most of the articles we'll feature came from you).
ffwong - 4PTS
Nutterboy - 1PTS
Troglodactyl - 1PTS
Currencydebt - 5PTS
CryptoVape - 1PTS

So we can get these paid today and for bytemaster's convenience, please re-post your PTS address after this post.  Thanks again.

Brian told me he would have the final list approved by noon EST (2 hours from now) and then I will pay it out by 5 EST (7 hours from now) which should give 2 hours to confirm prior to the snapshot.

Hi Todofixthis, please write this link on the spreadsheet next to your name. It was coincidence. Apologies accepted, everything alright again. Go linkers!

That's very kind of you 38PTSWarrior, thank you.  I have updated the spreadsheet and referenced your post.

I'm glad to see you back on this thread.  I know things got a little tense earlier, especially with the deadline looming; it's been great to see the passion that we share for these projects in action!

Thanks for helping get us paid. Because you activated the filter, I can't see why some of mine were rejected. These four in particular...

As a reminder, here are the criteria I used to evaluate URLs:

I'm looking for formal articles and stories written from large or small sources, well written blog posts, etc. In other words, something we'd be proud to post in our Press section, without editing.

There's a lot of room for interpretation in there.  If I rejected an article you posted, please don't take it personally.

I understand that there's money at stake here – your money – so please do make sure I got it right, and call me out on anything you think needs to be discussed.

And again, I'm really sorry about leaving the filter on.  I've disabled it now, and as jernau noted, you can also make a copy of the spreadsheet if you want.

Hey guys.  Coming back online now; it's morning here in Asia (:

I understand your concern over some of the links; I tried to get through the list reasonably quickly to give the I3 team as much time as possible to review the links.

My interpretation of I3's needs might also be different than your (or even I3's) understanding of what they are looking for, so some legit URLs may have been filtered out incorrectly.

Also, I apologize for leaving the filter on so that only accepted URLs were visible; I (incorrectly) thought that anyone else who viewed the spreadsheet would be able to toggle it on and off.  I will leave the filter off now.

Thank you for double-checking my work.  I will be going through the remaining posts on this thread and correcting any URLs that should be forwarded to the I3 team.

I thought about everything, and I think I acted like a drama queen. Everyone makes mistakes and I am happy with any outcome. The most important is that we pull together on one rope and not let get little things in the way that blocks the whole flow.

This http://btcgeek.com/cryptocurrencycon-2013-complete-coverage/ is off topic?:

The next panel was Future Development, dominated by Charles Hoskinson and Daniel Larimer of Invictus Innovations who unveiled their BitShares project along with the Keyhotee project for identities. The BitShares project, as promising as it seems by tracking prices based on a prediction system, needs to prove its worth in the real world. The beta is slated for December 2013 and it would be interesting to watch it grow and progress. Charles ended with a mention of a mysterious hardware device that will be coming soon but didn’t provide any more details.

Crypto Currency Conference 2013 Atlanta Charles Hoskinson <2 Pictures>
Charles Hoskinson introducing the BitShares idea
Charles Hoskinson talked about “A New Approach to BTC Exchanges” and introduced the BitShares ideas and Daniel Larimer talked about “Decentralized Solutions to Centralized Problems” introducing the Keyhotee identity system and a plan for decentralized, secure communication including text and voice.

Todofixthis, you already had to admit to users that you made mistakes. I have no nerves to check if you also made a mistake with some of my links. I also don't know how to filter things.

Regarding the last point (http://www.slideshare.net/marksmalley1/bitcoin-is-technology-presented-to-bank-negara-on-4th-of-nove), check out bullet point 8 which corresponds to slide 8 of 10. I'll quote it here:

"8. THE FUTURE – PROJECT KEYHOTEE Communication and Payment as One - http://invictus-innovations.com/keyhotee/"

I'm not sure about this one, but I'll go ahead and add it back; technically, there is an entire slide dedicated to Keyhotee, so it could qualify.  The I3 team has final say anyway, right?  (:

:) Yup.

Hello,

I don't agree with your summary that these two links (the first one being a dutch article on BitShares and the second being the dutch author's english translation) are not articles. If you read them carefully, they definitely are articles...

http://bitcoiny.nl/cryptocoins-2-0-stabiliteit-door-speculatie
http://kasper.re/tag/protoshares

Also:

http://www.cryptocurrencycon.com/speakers/daniel-larimer/

This is advertising Daniel Larimer's expertise in cryptocurrency and presence at the 2013 Atlanta Bitcoin Conference. Why is this not press?

One more thing:

http://www.slideshare.net/marksmalley1/bitcoin-is-technology-presented-to-bank-negara-on-4th-of-nove

I quote the summary: "This presentation was given to representatives from Bank Negara on the 4th of November, 2013 in their first official public meeting with local Bitcoin enthusiasts." Isn't that pretty strong publicity?

Thanks Nutterboy for pointing that out.

I re-reviewed the link in question.  This one's definitely not a repost; sorry about that.  I'm still not sure if it qualifies, though; the article did not seem to be specifically about I3 nor any of its products — one sentence out of a page-long article is tough to qualify as press for I3, I think.

http://freedomwat.ch/2013/10/09/entrepreneurs-engineers-evangelists-crypto-currency-con-2013/ - third last paragraph

You've cut this link putting it as a repost, but the article part that is relevant
Quote
Invictus Innovations introduced a new platform dubbed BitShares which is intended to replace all common Internet applications such as domain names, e-mail, and payments with a cryptographically secure platform comparable in scope to Android or iOS.

It is part of an article spreading good press about the company, not sure why its been cut out :/

The others that you've cut of mine were reposts annoyingly :/

Add that one back in tho? Thanks todofixthis

Working through the list now.  About halfway done.

I added two columns to the table:  Pass QA (whether the URL meets minimum requirements) and Notes (specifies reason for rejecting URLs).

Pass QA can have one of three values:

  • Y - URL meets minimum requirements and should be reviewed by I3 team.
  • ? - I was unable to determine whether the URL meets minimum requirements.  Review by I3 team recommended.
  • N - URL does not meet minimum requirements and does not need to be reviewed by I3 team.

Reasons why a URL gets rejected include:

  • Broken link - The URL does not link to a valid resource, or I am unable to get the resource to load in my browser.
  • Duplicate - The URL was submitted in a post that was created after another post that already mentions that URL.
  • LTB - The URL links to an article by Lets Talk Bitcoin, which is not eligible.
  • Not article - The URL links to a forum, aggregation, homepage or other resource that is not an article.
  • Not press - The URL links to a whitepaper or other instructional article that does not qualify as press/news.
  • Off-topic - The URL links to an article that does not cover, or is only tangentially related to, any of the required topics.
  • Repost - The URL links to a repost or summary of another article rather than the article itself.

I went ahead and activated a filter, so only the "Y" and "?" URLs appear.

Awesome!  I'm glad the spreadsheet was useful!

I'll start going through the links and filter out the wheat from the chaff (:

Offline bytemaster

I would like to offer someone 10 PTS to go through all submissions, remove duplicates or simple reposts, and create an XLS spreadsheet of links, posters, and PTS addresses that may need paid.   Very simple table, sorted by PTS address to be paid.

Brian and I will then sort through this table and make payments by the 28th.   Anything posted after this post will not be paid out prior to the 28th.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Z7LvCIBXrQovQ53WbPgoc0yFFmPt_-eXLxjxl4V5NGc/edit#gid=0

Notes:

  • Duplicates are highlighted in gray.
  • I used the last edit date for any edited posts to be fair.  I'm kicking myself for this one, as I edited my post early on to add a note pointing out that a previous post had been edited to include the link I already posted.  But I'll forfeit the 1 PTS so that I can apply the rules consistently to everyone.
  • LetsTalkBitcoin.com [re]posts are highlighted in red.

Thanks for putting this together.   You have earned your 10 PTS... now can you please filter out anything that doesn't meet this qualification:

I'm looking for formal articles and stories written from large or small sources, well written blog posts, etc. In other words, something we'd be proud to post in our Press section, without editing. Also, negative press also counts, so send that as well!  Thanks and happy searching.

A quick sample of many of the links revealed they did not meet the spec.  200 links to visit will be very time consuming, especially if many are reposts.  One simply had a title and no content.  We certainly couldn't proudly link many of these articles on our website.    Another 5 PTS for filtering it down to articles that are actually worth our time to look at.

the article in chinese is ok ?

Hello Forum!

I'd like to ask for your help.  We're attempting to catalog all the press and articles from third parties that exist currently about BitShares and Invictus to create the new "Press" section of our website.

So here are the rules:
There's no limit on hold old or new it can be.
It has to mention Invictus, BitShares, a team member by name (ex: Daniel Larimer), or one of our products or concepts (Keyhotee, DAC's, etc).
It can't simply be a post from another forum.
It needs to be something I haven't seen yet.  If you're not sure, post anyway.
Post 1) the link and 2) your PTS address  - and you'll get 1PTS for each one accepted.
Bounty will be paid to whomever posts the link first, if there's multiple posts of the same source.

I'm looking for formal articles and stories written from large or small sources, well written blog posts, etc. In other words, something we'd be proud to post in our Press section, without editing. Also, negative press also counts, so send that as well!  Thanks and happy searching.

Hello Forum!

* UPDATE * This bounty has been changed to 0.1 PTS rather than 1 PTS as of the post in this thread where I announced the change.

Bigger than bitcoin,
B
