Forking is not a bad idea if and when it is actually a step forward but when the post isn't even written well only idiots will be attracted to the fork.

I hate to say it, but the use of the word "idiots" made me laugh...

WTF,

it's another one!
Lol .. you faster my less than 10 sec .. congrats :-)
I'll say let go all propose a fork of Bitshares on bitocintalk !!!
Nice this is what gives us a good presence on bt

Actually, that's not a bad idea - except show them how to do a fork honorably.

Every DAC instance needs a forking third party champion who will love and nurture it as their own baby.  Where are the champions in this forum who want to take a shot at doing it right?

Anything said on these forums does not constitute an intent to create a legal obligation or contract of any kind.   These are merely my opinions which I reserve the right to change at any time.

(I'm impressed that none of the "interested" folks had to ask "WTF is a BitShare?")

:)

I don't think they knew, I think most didn't care. Something for nothing. Whatever-thing.

I think they are mostly a large group of sock puppets of a very small group of con artists who know exactly what Bitshares are.

Forks!
Forking is good! Forks of bitshares will diversify the selection of assets to hold value in. Forks will most likely honor AGS/PTS because it is the easiest way to garner interests and participation in the DAC initially. The success of these forks is just as contingent upon participation as it is upon the software. Stop freaking out!

forking  is a way to evolve something better. Just take a look at UNIX being forked into GNU/Linux. Linux has done wonders esp in mobile business applications.

Revelation 22:18-19:

"I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book."

I'm not a Bible thumper, but that's a pretty good hit on those with forked tongues. Honor ye the Social Contract or else...build your own "community" with eight pages of brand-new "interested" newbie posters on the bitcoin talk forum.

What if Bts is forked 100% to bitcoin holders, many of us would be screwed

Stan's Ten laws at work. And this guy wont even honor PTS holders a single iota.   :P

No? This sounds like they will honour PTS and AGS with at least 10 % each:

Quote
All of the BTF will be separation to 10,000shares,if you own one shares, you will get 400k BTF. Our team will own 200shares, for Dev,for marketing and some free giveaway. 1,000 shares for PTS holder, 4,000 shares for AGS holder. 4,800 shares for IPO.

10 % PTS
40 % AGS
50 % premine of which 96 % sold to Bitcointalkers and 4 % kept

Does anybody else think moving the decimal mark is a major improvement justifying a fork? :)

Anything can and will be used justify a fork.  From the Ten Laws:

2.   It is ethically acceptable to clone alt-coins from anybody else’s open source.
3.   If you demonstrate a good idea, others will clone it – without market objection.
4.   They will clone it if just to give it a better name.
5.   They will clone it to slightly modify one of its parameters.
6.   They will clone it to better appeal to another group of stakeholders.

Now we will see what the marketplace does with it...

Awesome work. I think we might just squash it again. I assume it was mods who closed the previous thread (or could he have done it himself?).

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=499211.msg5545455#msg5545455

Eventually there will come along someone who presents themselves in a proper way. We should think about how to approach the issue when such a time arrives.

A part from the bullshit about "a better world", I think is great as we need more advertisement for BitShares. Their focus is about marketing which is what we need. I assume we all are going to create our own DACs later on, which helps in the decentralization and deregulation.
But of course, the model and driver is BitShares.

More attention than I3 has on bitcointalk, unfortunately =[
Do not use this post as information for making any important decisions. The only agreements I ever make are informal and non-binding. Take the same precautions as when dealing with a compromised account, scammer, sockpuppet, etc.
