In the picture, solvant should be solvent

Under status, why is "snapshot" linked to the FAQ page, yet nothing on the FAQ page discusses the word snapshot?

--------

The anchors for the FAQ page do not seem to work, clicking http://bitshares.org/faq/index.php?#bips doesn't actually take you to the FAQ Bips definition, it just takes you to the FAQ page.

Holy fucking shit

It took bytemaster like 2 fucking days to make something that is not too embarrassing to show to my friends & family when other people spent like 1 month repeatedly failing at communicating these basic concepts

It takes greatness to make the difficult simple and explain it without jargon. The most urgent need is definitely that we need more bytemasters. It's difficult to delegate when you know it is so much easier to do things yourself, but that in turn can become an impediment to successful collaborative relationships. It's all very familiar and complicated :\

I see the problem. An extra 100 factor.    It is more like basis points with the bad at .000001

MIP is the basic unit of account in all bitshares systems and is short for micro-percent. All balances are represented as a percentage of the current underlying share supply.

are MIP, UIP, etc actually standard? I'm ok with using them if we mean 1/1k, 1/1m, etc

strongly urging you to consider m% and u% instead of MIP for share allocation notation

m% and u% look like math symbols and fancy notation and is not 'pronounceable'...

Either of the notations have the problem that they're mixing percent and engineering notation: m% is 5 decimal places, u% is 8. Those are not numbers that people are used to. I strongly suggest abandoning percentage altogether, and just use engineering notation:

MIP is 1,000th of supply, UIP is 1,000,000th of supply, NIP is 1,000,000,000 of supply (if needed). Please don't make people think in terms of 5 and 8 decimal places.

And I agree with bytemaster, m% looks too weird.

Please spend more time on DACs, not a fancy website...

Actually the fancy website is essential. The present site is beautiful but it lacks a lot of content that is missing badly. If you want Bitshare X or any DAC to succeed the website it is as important as the DAC itself. So in my opinion this is time well spent !!!

Getting more organized with content on the site... one place stop for all things BitShares X....

http://107.170.30.182/bitshares/bank/

I would like toast to create a similar page for DNS...

The content isn't pretty... but at least it is getting organized and we have a place to hook new content as we generate it.

you should point bitshares.org at this right away, this is already better

DON'T call bitshares LOTTO "bitshares HOPE"... too much cognitive dissonance

Well actually, I want that to be a charity DAC rather than straight lotto.    Hope for you and hope for others.  It will allocate 25% of lotto ticket sales to charity.  I am working on the details to introduce that concept.

To become a qualified charity you must get at least 5% of the shareholders to accept you, after which point those who buy tickets can select one of the qualified charities.  And of course bitshares.org will be the default charity ;)

I am working on a draft site with more content here...  after seeing the new website I found it to be lacking in content and the stock photos have constantly come up as a problem.  The single thing that made the site was the video.   Recognizing that the problem was lack of content...

I really liked the website, but I agree with those observations. It might also be more personal if you had some candid photos of you guys in a meeting, sharing a joke, struggling with a problem etc. as opposed to some of the stock photos.
I still have the old photos from that Virginia meeting somewhere if you need it.

That would be great, do you have a link?

"BitShares LOTTO" is missing  under "Unlimited Opportunities"

Brian delegated the website to a firm that did an ok job, but there are two issues:

The content is incomplete and inaccurate.

I am providing raw content and will let someone else make it pretty.

Yeah... it isn't the only one missing from that section... there will be another page that lists them ALL.

The current site is really great and everyone seem to love it. You have to let go control for these things, this is not your expertise and a big step backwards. Just talk to Brian if you have any suggestions and I'm sure he will integrate them in a nice way.
Agree. Why not  keep the current site and add all your suggestions ?

In this new age every product is a learning experience used to build new products. Notice how Daniel is constantly and radically revising his ideas.

That's very close to one of my views on living. The day I stop changing my mind about something is the day I've died.

I'm hopeful that the developments here can be a catalyst to avert a zombie apocalypse, before we succumb to the hordes.

BM , I suggest you should focus on bts-x development, recruit employee, build website and other things should give to the other one.  Because we all hope the bts-x can publish as soon as possible, don't want the other thing to bother you.

and we paid for the site design, now we have to do it again on our own ... more importantly, your precious time could have been spent on core development instead. where's Brian?

I think you altogether lack the bias for what is, Daniel - and that's a good thing. :)

Edit: I am supposing that a lot of structural and content elements that Brian implemented will be used, the video, the blog, the people hired, the FAQ text, a lot of the illustrations, etc. In this new age every product is a learning experience used to build new products. Notice how Daniel is constantly and radically revising his ideas.

I am working on a draft site with more content here...  after seeing the new website I found it to be lacking in content and the stock photos have constantly come up as a problem.  The single thing that made the site was the video.   Recognizing that the problem was lack of content which left the site with nothing but style, I have made a concerted effort to fix that situation....  I am working through all of the pages and providing the rough content.  I will then hand things over to the forum / professionals to put the necessary polish on it.

Some of the major changes with this revision:
1) bitshares.org is a community website, not the Invictus website.  It is meant to welcome everyone and is not about Invictus as a company.
     a) no more employment
     b) partners and team members, no positions / titles, open to people outside of Invictus
2) The blog should be tighter integrated and versioned with github so the community can participate in fixing typos, etc
3) Focus the main page with a call to action:  get shares and get involved.

http://107.170.30.182/

Tomorrow I will be filling out the content on some of the other pages to fit my vision for the site.   If you would like to help me get this in shape, join the team, and submit some pull requests.
