Hi, new here.

What about a small bounty to make every mac client compatible with Leopard and Lion, for all the white and black macbooks out there?

Hey! And welcome :)

I have no idea if that is a good idea, as I do not know how much it would cost, or what the demographic is like. Perhaps someone else could comment on this? On a general note, I would think I3 takes care of the more heavy, technical bounties, while the community fund goes to social and promotional uses.

This also brings up the point that the "bounty suggestion" section should serve dual purpose; on the one hand it should work to prod and give input to I3 to propose the right bounties, and on the other it should work to allocate the community fund resources (currently 150 PTS a month).

I think at least Bitshares PTS, MMC and Keyhotee last versiones are Maverics only by now.

Such a DAC might be good, but we should not over complicate things and excuse our doing something simple by staring into a complex optimal solution. For certain bounties, we get the tech gurus to judge, for others we get a few members of the community to judge, for others we might hardly need judging, etc. This is the cyberpunk solution, but we know from other communities that it can be used to great effect, so the possibility of an optimal, or even just better solution, should not weigh us down from doing what we can now.

We could just put up a poll on this forum if we decide to do monthly awards, for instance:

Most inspirational post of the month,
Most helpful member of the month,
Best constructive feedback of the month,
..
..

Awards could be PTS from the bounty pool,
donations from community members,
gifts from I3,
being featured on a section of the bitshares page,
..
..

One recent thought I had is that it is important to highlight users,
show appreciation for their contribution,
and give their reputation a memory in the system.

Please add this to "the pad" (tm)

The sources of the bitshares wallet could have a CONTRIBUTORS file and a AUTHORS file as several other open source projects have. Putting a name there might seen as a highlight :-)

Is it hard to make a Vote-who-diserve-a-bounty-DAC ???
I dont think we are talking about a DAC here .. this is much more a direct, fact-based bounty program.
Do something for the community, raise hands, and get some 'money'
