Absolutely delighted to hear it. Funny you should say you wish to include the video in the .org revamp, is is the 1 thing in .org that is truely impressive.

Look forward to seeing Brian and Cass work together again on the revamp
Great news! Hopefully it won't take too long to make some initial changes to .org.

I didn't say anything before because I don't jump on the forum and list everyting I do behind the scenes, but I designed the look and feel of the BitSharesX site and wrote all the content (with Cass implementing my ideas and choosing some of the images/design elements, of course).

I hear what you're saying and I agree, it's a simpler, more direct site to use for bitshares, but originally bitshares.org was what I was told to build. I incorporated every element I was told to.  If I had it my way it would have looked like the X site from the very beginning. Stupid simple, elegant, easy to grasp.

I'll discuss with the team about changing our main site to something more like that, with at least a few more elements still included.... Would be silly not to include the video, as it's the very reason many people outside the industry told me they were hooked and wanted to learn more.   B

Good points guys. I wonder who the designer of .info is?

Also who came up with the marketing jargon. Whoever it is has an excellent grasp of explaining the intricities of the product to the layperson.

I can't see it being the same ppl who have designed .info and .org

Would it be worth getting the .info guys to have a look at bitshares.org and give them free reign to chop and change and sort it out.

Remember it is not working in it's current form, need I direct you to the forum link in my first post where users who seem inpressed with the bitshares technology attack the website.

bitshares-x.info the network is all handled by dacsunlimited.com.  I guess dacsunlimited could post it on here ?   The problem is Bitshares creates open source software and consults.  They are not the same business as dacsunlimited, even if they seem like it for obvious reasons.

i agree with your last point, but the products are already being pushed anyway regardless of having full functionality.

While i3 may not have control over google page rankings, a link to that website could easily be made available on the original bitshares domain. It could also be stickied in any number of subforums on this website. It could also replace the outdated AGS banner at the top of our forums. Never going to achieve visibility if that link is buried in the forums, as number 1 pointed out

What shows up on the top of google is really not something I3 has power over.

What we as a community can do is point people to bitshares-x.info when we discuss Bitshares X or Bitshares.  This will help the google ranking of the site.

The main problem right now is that most of the functionality that is the real selling point simply does not work yet.  So there is a little reluctance to push it for me personally.

http://bitshares-x.info/ is beautiful and easy to follow. I agree 100%, http://bitshares-x.info/ should be swapped with bitshares.org as the main point of referral.

While the complexity of the BitShares ecosystem is a part of its beauty, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible for most new users to grasp everything at once. Quite frankly new users should never be expected to do that. http://bitshares-x.info/ is simple and straight to the point - more importantly it looks trustworthy AND shuttles users directly to a tangible, working product that they can actually download and use themselves right now. No vague promises of what BitShares will become, just a free product anyone can download right away without having to do any digging.

What is it with using a mess of a website bitshares.org as the main point of referral when a wonderfully designed clean cut template in http://bitshares-x.info already exists.

Everything with http://bitshares-x.info is better, the design to the marketing language; however it's not to be found via a google search but rather through direction from a vague forum post.

My advice, swap them around!

Check out this thread from bitcointalk where bitshares is being discussed . A lot of positive feedback on the technology but a general feeling that the website is destroying us.

Thoughts? Where is the marketing budget going?
