Well, guess we better get used to the bucketshop article.

If you google DACsunlimited the article is now second only to the website itself...

How about when Bitshares X gets forked into a chain for assets pegged to company stocks, we call it Bitshares Bucketshop :)

don't expect to much from bitcoin magazine. many of them have conflict of interest with bishares vs. ethereum

- just my 5 cent and i don't have insight

Hasn't anyone within Bitshares or I3 made a relationship with anyone from Bitcoin Magazine? This article is horrible.

Bad publicity is not good publicity.  The author is presenting himself as an authority on the subject, has implied that his insight has come from personal conversations with Dan and has slandered Bitshares X without a single shred of factual evidence.  This FUD needs to be totally ripped to pieces and sent to the abyss from whence it came.....

QuoteThis makes Bitshares, arguably, the first functional iteration of what's known as a Distributed Autonomous Corporation – essentially, a distributed, centreless system much like the Bitcoin network, but able to execute commands more complicated than 'buy' and 'sell,' and with a wider variety of resources. That could mean this counts as a victory for Bitshares over its main conceptual competitor, Ethereum, a DAC platform that is still in the proof of concept phase.

Nice :)

Did you read the rest of it? It practically criminized Bitshares.
I would say not a very strong article as calling Bitshares a bucketshop is a cheapshot.

+5% thanks for pointing that out.

I just happened to type DACsunlimited in google, this came up in news section. Just copied the first paragraph which seemed good and the link.

The take away for me is that people are talking about Bitshares in the media.  Sure, this person got a lot of it wrong but it hopefully will start conversations and encourage people to look into what exactly Bitshares is; perhaps just to understand why this guy called it a bucketshop, and then realize he's way off.  This article hurts the writer and helps us.

Definitely.  It isn't anywhere near technically accurate.  I had to refresh myself what exactly a "bucket shop" is on wikipedia and calling Bitshares X such is quite incorrect.  Bucket shops mean you bet against the house on derivatives, where the house can cover the bets made.  This has nothing to do with what Bitshares X is.
I speak for myself and only myself.

Edit: Since been pointed out the article is bad. If I'd read more than 1 paragraph.
