he's right .. the qt_wallet is just html browser .. nothing more .. a little menu bar here .. a right-click menu there .. but the content and actual user interface is a angularJS/node/lineman web_wallet

This is extremely low priority, but a true "qt wallet" could have some value in the future. The current app is great, but an additional one that doesn't depend on all the JS stuff would be icing.

Xeldal, good suggestions! I absolutely agree with #1-#3. #4 1hr Avg. Price looks good to me.
Also I can assure you that developers read forum topics like this and I think these suggestions are going to be implemented soon. There is no need to post this as issues on github.

There is an issue tracker for these suggestions which can be tracked by developers more easily .. I recommend posting there:
https://github.com/BitShares/web_wallet/issues
Thanks for the link.

I think the feature rich platform would be the desktop client not the web_wallet
I'm guessing that's here:  https://github.com/BitShares/qt_wallet/issues
web wallet would be a condensed streamlined version or the desktop client.

It's actually the other way around: the desktop client is a viewer for the web wallet. If you want to improve the graphs in the qt desktop client, the code for that is in web_wallet

:) ok, thanks.  That seems backwards to me, but I'll take your word for it.  There seems to be a great deal more activity on the web_wallet section.

Its useful to post here in the forum as well where a discussion is more likely.  I'd like to hear what others think before I go posting what may be poorly thought out recommendations to github.

feature request can be placed there to .. they will be labeled accordingly by the devs

putting those things there will make devs' life easier as they don't need to crawl the whole forum then ..

Its good for everyone to know that is how github is used. Thanks.

I am not sure if the suggestions in OP are considered as issues.  I think they are more of 'request for features' or sharing ideas for improvement?   I like the suggestions too.

I'm happy to see the chart has been updated.  You all are doing great work.

I'd like to make a few suggestions that might help you improve it.

1) Zoom - Currently this changes the full scope of the chart to the selected time frame.  I have always hated this method because it gives no indication of time period of individual candles.  I would suggest using Period: instead.  5 , 15 , 30 , 1hr , 4 hr , 12 hr , daily, weekly. This would change the time period of each individual candel.  The overall time frame of the viewable chart is already listed and changeable across the bottom and top right.

2) The hover box OHLC -  For me, this is annoying and is always in the way.  I'd suggest instead making a stationary section that displays the OHLC information along the top(like bitcoinwisdom does it).

3) Indicators such as Volume should be separated from the actual chart(or given the option to separate) as they often get in the way on high volume periods.

4) 1hr Avg. Price - the dotted line down the middle of the depth graph should be a solid color line with no text and simply referenced at the top like all the other colors are.

I know this is a work in progress so I'll leave it at that.  And obviously these are only my own personal preferences that may not be shared by others.

For my own taste I prefer charts more like the following
https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitstamp/btcusd
https://cryptrader.com/charts/bter/btsx/btc
I'm not sure if there's an easy way to demo TDAmeritrades ThinkorSwim platform but that was by far my favorite software to use.

None of them are perfect and they all get on my nerves in different ways but it's the right direction.
I have been using TOS for 7 years, prior to TD and earlier investools acquisitions. I love them and give them nothing but high praise. If BTSX could look 1/3 as good as TOS, we would be sitting pretty.

Which charts are you talking about in thinkorswim? They have their TOS charts and they also have the prophetcharts. Personally I like them both. The TOS charts are way more intense technicals wise and prophet is just a prettier format for minute to yearly candles for chart periods.

Ya ThinkorSwim by TDAmeritrade is a very good platform.  The team if they have not should get the free trial to use as an example of a great working system.
