I believe it is easier implementation-wise to pay the interest whenever the fee is paid (when you place the order in this case). BTSX do not earn interest, so how come the one in collateral should earn such yield?

One question remains for me -- Does this mean no interest in case of manual closing of short positions???

Lack of arbitrage is the problem, isn't it. And this 'should' solves it.

It is not entirely clear to me if this is the case currently, but I think that BitAsset funds that are sitting in open orders and collateral should vote and earn interest, otherwise it disincentives market participation and reduces available liquidity.
