If decentralized storage of website content is the main goal wouldn't Storj be a more practical way to go?

Bitshares Music (and my own DAC Bitshares Video) can store its music/video files in MaidSafe (or other of the same ink).
Lack of arbitrage is the problem, isn't it. And this 'should' solves it.

I've been thinking about this a bit too.  I think you need to wait for maidsafe to have a released product.

Distributed storage means static websites without a backend. (Well not totally static, but they wouldn't save state outside cookies)

There is still quite a bit of value here for websites with questionable political content.  (and hopefully not nauseating illegal porn)

So what platform would a distributed web-server run off ?  Anyone seen any serious projects in this area ?

If you could link up with maidsafe on this the value of .p2p would be really interesting.
*agreed* .. not sure how that linking could work though .. I need to read more about maidsafe

Sorry if this has been discussed already, i've only just started to follow this project.

Of what I have read so far i don't see an incentive to get a .p2p domain. A decentralized dns only solves part of the problem we need decentralised servers and browsers to make it interesting (and give real speculative value to .p2p). There have been 100's of new tld launches all of them with small value compared to .com or country domain extensions.

If you could link up with maidsafe on this the value of .p2p would be really interesting.
