I'm a coder with old experience. I'm not coding on this project, I still feel like I'm not up to speed entirely. No association with I3 or any other effort here, I'm just an investor at this point.
I haven't seriously coded in over 5 years, but coding is kindof in my blood so I use it for miscellaneous things. I know C but not C++; I know Java but not C++; I know Javascript but not C++; I know numerous scripting languages but not C++. Oh wait, did I mention I don't know C++?
I've put in half hearted attempts at learning C++ in years past but it never really clicked with me. Funny, b/c Java did click with me tho I'm only an intermediate in skill with that. If I were in a place that required C++ coders more than the skills I already had, such as UI coding, there might have been a slot open and an opportunity be on a C++ coding team where I could focus on C++ more actively. That's exactly how I picked up Java, but even then I was sucked into doing UI work b/c nobody was as familiar with javascript as I was. Javascript is one of my favorite languages actually. I prefer scripting over compiled for the immediate gratification, but all languages have their purpose, and have their strengths and weaknesses.
Sorry for the long winded response.
