IDentabit / Re: Important Criticism

---==[[  Z i d e x ]]==---

9 Great Reasons Why It's The Winner
  • Z - Last letter representing finality
  • idex - Combination of ID + DEX = Identification + Decentralized Exchange
  • 2 Syllable
  • Search it out.. unique for this space.
  • Spells out like it sounds.
  • Sounds close to the word 'index' .. which is innocuous and might even lend a little meaning that is appropriate.
  • I think it sounds out in a way that most languages can pronounce
  • Won't mean dick in another language I believe.
  • Only costs brownie.pts for my contribution if accepted. :)

GO For Zidex!!
Why not just make it INDEX ? Clean and simple.

Even better without the "n".

IDex, iINDEX, IDEx or ... IDEX !

ID + DEX + (more or less) INDEX

Even if all this renaming thing sounds funny I'm 100% agree with all of you, IDentabit will be an handicap in the commercial process. I hope it's not too late to rethink it  :P

why not iDEX

General Discussion / Re: Announcing Brownie Points (BROWNIE.PTS)
« on: August 14, 2015, 11:18:23 am »

Everyone was asked to post in a thread about what they've done and some Brownie.PTS were sent about 2 months ago or so. Are we supposed to keep posting each time we do something we think is worthy of a Brownie.PTS nod from @bytemaster or will he simply know we contributed or how do we know when to stop begging for Brownie.PTS for contributing because we didn't know we were on a shitlist?   ;D

I've been away for a while and so trying to catch up. My absence means that any contributions I've made in the past, which amount to far less than a lot here, will probably faded from memory. Still I feel like I've contributed to the debate here at times.

Brownies just seem like such a daft idea and I think they are going to switch off more people than they turn on. When I hear people like Xeroc suggesting that people should consider sharedropping on Brownies vs BTS it just makes me wonder what has happened in my absence. Xeroc was so fair-minded and he appears to be advocating dropping on what must amount to a tiny fraction of people who have supported BTS in some way.

Maybe I just don't get it. All these twists and turns - well they're just confusing. I'm hoping not intentionally so. I'm still holding, but I'm losing faith a little with this Brownie stuff.

Faith will be restored if someone can build a logical argument as to why Brownies are fair and will remain so. Whilst trying to answer this please keep in mind the quote from DataSecuirty Node above. I'm pretty sure if you read what he says you'll quickly realise that Brownies are not practical and cannot ever be fairly distributed. So this means at the very least sharedrops should be refused/not encouraged by BM and Xeroc and other Brownie holders.

I will just speculate thru questions.

1) Can "fair" be defined?
2) Why should a sharedrop should be fair? Should the distribution scheme of some part of something you own/build/produce be subject to any third party's definition of "fair"
3) Is the distribution of BTS fair? (Remember PTS bounties?)
4) Someone with no access to BTS (no money avaliable, no on/off ramp available in the country/jurisdiction etc..) be left out? Even if he/she is a big contributor to the community?

pls don't go with the IMPACT font as logo font ... if you want i woukld love to send an alternative design .. if any possible ... just said :)

Totally Agree. The logo sucks to be honest. I'm sure CASS can come up with something in a heartbeat ..

The double cross is most probably intentional and has a meaning. I bet logo wont change :)

plot twist:

What is the holy grail of a basic income? It's a decentralized social network with verifiable identities!

We'll be rich!  :D

I mean with the announcement of identabit about the airdrop allocation to brownie, shouldn't brownie be priced at 300 bts now, or at least 100?

Only if you thought that 100% of the value of BTS was from the remitabit airdrop.

I think 8-10 BTS per brownie is still interestingly low. Currently market values IDentabit ~1/30 of bitshares value, which equals to around 400k dollars.

People not being able to run the wallet, may be the real problem tho.

96
Brownie up like 200%, haha.

8.2M brownies and 2.5B BTS get the same amount of sharedrop. That is ~300 BTS gets the same amount of sharedrop 1 brownie gets.

IMHO it will go way up.

IDentabit / Re: [ANN] IDentabit Announcement
« on: August 12, 2015, 09:58:30 pm »
Great announcement, and thanks for sharedropping. However,

How will you determine "those identified as constructive contributors to Bitshares betterment"?

Thanks!

Dan's Brownie Points

puts a serious dampener on the good news. You should rename it then; calling it as Active BS Community (btw, BS :P) is unfair and harsh on those who contribute but for whatever reasons are not favoured.

I'm hopeful that no matter your holding small or large their is a win in this for you. This is the beginning of a long journey and IDentabit will have the opportunity in its own way to thank people, so let's focus on the winning the battle so we everyone gets something of something rather than thinking about something of nothing.

I support your endeavor and its a brilliant piece of news, but I don't like you saying that brownieless members are inactive/non-contributing.

did you ask for any brownies on the announcement thred, and not get any? or are you just talking on an assumption?

You cannot really build an asic that runs a turing complete algorithm as efficiently as hashing asics .. you NEED a general-purpose architecture

I dont know what the possibility is but, you can build a 256bit general purpose turing machine with additional casper specific instruction set.

General Discussion / Re: Very disappointing BTS performance

You sold at the bottom.  Look at ethereum, maidsafe, ect.  Bitshares is on pace with most other 2.0 projects, and bitshares is the most undervalued right now IMHO.  I have a feeling ether will be overhyped and overpriced to begin with considering their stage of development.  It should be an interesting 2nd half of 2015 with the launch of ethereum frontier and bitshares 2.0. 2016 is shaping up to be spectacular, similar to bitcoin in 2013.  I look forward to watching the fireworks.

I think this statement is said every year and every year has been a disappointment...
The question is, do you believe this statement will eventually be true? If yes, the rest is patience. If no, well, if you didnt believe you wouldnt be here.

Quote
3. Withdraw ROI Hourly
Every hour you will receive 1% of the amount you have invested. You may withdraw this amount at any time you wish, instantly to your desired crypto wallet, or, alternatively store it in your CoinClockwork wallet. You may also activate the 'Flush' feature in order to automatically withdraw all wallet balances to a specific address as soon as the minimum is reached.

1% interest would be ok .. per year .. not per hour ..
I'd call this ponzi or scam!
you think so?
1% being including base, takes that 100 hours  to get the original you put in..
I'm not sure, 1% per hour after that first 100 hour stage isn't the toughest task in a traders eyes. that's my opinion, and if I were trading fulltime.
that's my opinion, each to there own.
how long do you think this scheme will last?

100 hours?

The node is down and the silence from the devs makes me think there is a problem, a big one.

The price is a bit frustrating right now

If you're a seller.  It's a buyer's market right now.

+5% on that. Good thing tomorrow is payday :)

With under $7k daily volume (CMC) you dont even need a whale to skyrocket some coin's price.
