Title: Bter now accepts BTSX deposits/withdraw and trading
Post by: freeworm on July 22, 2014, 07:14:32 am
Hi dev,

BTSX(Bitshares X) deposit is enabled.

Deposit  at

https://bter.com/myaccount/deposit/BTSX

Trade BTSX at  BTC market at

https://bter.com/trade/btsx_btc

or CNY market at

https://bter.com/trade/btsx_cny

If there's any fork or client upgrade, please do notify us by email at

support@mail.bter.com

or submit a ticket at

http://support.bter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Hi Denny, thank you for your great help!

We now use the memo method suggested by Denny. However we really need to limit the number of the items returned from the list transactions API.
If there's any update to satisfy this, please let us know asap.

Thanks,
Lin@Bter

you should register a name on BTS.

Just address is a little trouble for beginners to add you as a local contact.

you should register a name liked to that address ,like  "bterdeposite233".

你应该为这个地址注册一个别名。不然转账给你要增添很多麻烦的。

以后别人转账就不用看你地址了

True!
I just figured out how to go around that issue. Not fun, if you do not get expert help!

Hi dev,

BTSX(Bitshares X) deposit is enabled.

...

Thanks!
Please remove "Notice: It might take longer than normal to deposit to Bter from mining pool or deposit solo mining generated coins if the sender pay no transaction fee to the network." it's not applicable to BitSharesX:
https://bter.com/myaccount/deposit/BTSX

Please change the name from "BTSX BTSX" to "BitSharesX BTSX":
https://bter.com/myaccount

Thanks in advance.

They should have available both options from the beginning!
Hope it is a matter of hours or 1-2 days, if not I would consider it a potential threat for the bitshares ecosystem... (to much voting power to exchanges...)

Oh come on MaidSafe coins didn't have withdrawal for way longer than that, price collapsed to like 40% of the original crowdsale price. Then it surpassed it.

On another note, here is my next prediction - as soon as withdrawals work, price will skyrocket. The delegates situation is now a little bit like a pissing contest - egos and greed wil kick in, and some BTC whale will buy everything in sight so they can "mine".

:)

(but don't forget the memo)

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH DEPOSITS!

If I'm producing blocks - I get the infamous "duplicate" transaction. It doesn't post until I stop production and rescan, and even then shows as duplicate in history. When I clear pending, it disappears from the ledger.

However BTER did receive it. But I would highly recommend you send in small chunks JUST IN CASE!!!

Read post above. If you are producing blocks, the problem may be on your end...

i wasn't producing blocks with that account. it wasn't on my end. the transaction was included into a block instantly and it took 30 minutes for btc38 to credit me.

Well, it took 5 minutes for mine. In any case we should put a giant warning somewhere, to please break your deposits into smaller chunks.

Since the BTSX wallet is quite new compared with bitcoin's, we limited the withdrawal volume for sake of safe.
We will let it run for several days and if everything goes well, we are going to raise the withdrawal volume to a reasonable value.

Guys BTER has been doing a great job. Yes, they are centralized. But bitshares x still has some issues with the software and I think they are doing the right thing limiting the amount.

One thing I may suggest however is this: limit the amount per withdrawal but not the TOTAL amount per day. I.e. To be safe keep limit of 5,000 BTSX per transaction. But make daily limit 500,000 or something

It took minutes but was a small fraction of what I had, so I'd rather wait an hour and be able to receive all of my balance so I can buy more.

It took me a little longer because the first two times I tried I entered my alphanumeric address and my withdrawal was cancelled both times. The third time I entered my account name and the withdrawal was very fast, less than two minutes.

Hello BitShares community! I have just started learning about this system yesterday and so far it seems very promising.

I purchased some initial BTSX on bter.com but I am also having the same problem mentioned by many in the thread; I am unable to transfer any of my BTSX to my wallet because I am considered an unregistered user until I can pay the fee.

Can anyone here help me get started with a BTSX transaction? Thanks in advance!!!

My address is BTSX5zU7CBvvLrofA5h9FE7HcyDpvViwkmmMJ7MJspAvtuxXtQakLc

Hello Bitshares comunity,

I am also a new investor in BTSX. All the concepts of Bitshares really amaze me and I think it will be very successful in future.

I just installed the new wallet and tried to register my account and then transfer some funds from bter.com to test it, but with no luck. Can somebody send me just 1 BTSX so I can activate it :)

For some reason I cannot withdraw any BTSX from bter.com. It still says 'Invalid fund password' - I tried several times with my bter.com password and even my wallet password, but with no luck. Maybe some temporal problem with Bter, or I am missing something..

Thanks for your help! :)

You bet!  The fund password on bter is different than your login password for security reasons.  You can request to have it reset.  Also, I've had a large withdraw pending for about an hour now.  I wonder if they're running out of supply...

What platform are you running? On windows there were reports of missing transactions from the ledger, however the total funds available was correct. This is due to TITAN privacy technology. If transaction details are lost they can not be recovered but funds don't get lost.

Ya, I don't think it's anything bter.com has done.  They've been very reliable in the past.  When I do wallet_account_balance riverhead in the console the balance is still missing the funds from bter.  I tried a wallet_rescan_blockchain but no luck.

I'll keep poking at it.

i don't believe that bter is handling transactions appropriately. on the one hand the transaction id that they provide is wrong. they are providing the block signature rather than txid which is only about 8 digits. when i tried to withdraw 45,000 btsx on their end it is said insufficient funds, which i think results from them creating individual deposit/widthrawal address for each account. they should simply have a main bter account registered on the blockchain and process transactions based on the memo field. i don't know why there are so many difficulties when titan makes it so much easier to transfer funds. can't wait till btsx is the main crypto exchange

They upped it early today or last night.  I too tried to withdraw 45k BTSX that went nowhere.  I even exited my client, renamed the chain directory and downloaded the blockchain again in case it was a ledger error.  No love yet....

I was able to transfer 5k yesterday so I know it did work at one point :).

They bumped the limit up to 45000 today. And I am in the same exact boat as clout. Missing 45000 BTSX in my wallet even though the transaction is posted as complete on bter. Submitted a support ticket to bter.com to try and resolve. I'll provide an update when they contact me back.

what do your withdrawal records say about the transaction? i keep getting "insufficient funds (31005)", which means whatever account they are trying to send from does not have enough btsx. this is understandable since they recently upped the limit. but i'm pretty sure they are doing something wrong right now.

Mine just gives the transaction id and the time the transaction went through.  I withdrew 45000 and I would hate to hear there were insufficient funds because I have a lot more to withdraw!

If you are sending it to the wallet which houses your delegate, wait till you just produced a block(so you have less chance.of missing the next).
Then turn off block production
rescan blockchain
turn block production back on.

I have had to do the after.every send or receive so far. Turning blocks off, rescan blockchain and turn back on takes less than 10 seconds.  So you shouldn't miss a block.

This is if you are sending to a delegate wallet I think.

It is far better to have a separate wallet for your delegate.. you can import the private key into multiple wallets and just keep block production disabled on one of them.

I keep them completely separate mostly because the wallet has to be unlocked to produce blocks and a delegate is a fairly visible target.

Is anyone else having their withdraw transactions cancelled with the error message "cancelled:BTSX account is not registered or memo is too long"? I didn't add a memo and my account is registered (same name as forum handle). It is especially odd because I was able to successfully send BTSX to my wallet yesterday. I've already submitted a ticket about this on BTER.

Did you use the account name rather than the alphanumeric for withdrawal address? I had my withdrawal cancelled twice because I used the alphanumeric. Switched to the account name and it was fine.

I have the very same problem with a 5000 BTSX transaction (2014-07-24 19:02:17) from BTER to my account. I used the account name, no luck so far. BTER lists the transaction without error message, so I must have filled the withdrawal form the right way.

edit: Ticket submitted as well.

Yes. I am putting in "arhag" (without the quotes) into the BTSX Registered account field and its cancelling the transaction with that error message.

If your transaction is not cancelled with an error message then I think it's a different problem than mine. It seems others are also having that delay issue with withdrawals. Hopefully BTER can address all of these issues soon.

Read the previous 10 or 15 posts. There is some kind of problem. When the withdrawal limit was 5000 btsx/day the withdrawals were done in a couple of minutes. But today withdrawals are not happening and some people are speculating that bter.com is on a fork.

It's unfortunate though, really unfortunate.  Definitely won't buy if I can't get it out.

Next reply said, "if I received the earlier ones, I should receive the last".   Thanks. I feel the same way.  Doesn't seem that they are actually doing anything other than saying, it should work.   :(

Hi,

Yes the withdrawal from the wallet doesn't work very well until now so we limited the withdrawal amount back to 5000.
We have upgraded to the new wallet version and got several expired transactions of the withdrawals like this:

2014-07-24T13:42:31 EXPIRED   btercom              -197.00000 BTSX          from bter                                   N/A                     0.10000 BTSX        e4b9c991

We are going to re-send the withdrawals and see if the new wallet works.

Hi,

Sorry for the misunderstanding from our customer rep since they didn't get what happened with the BTSX withdrawal.
Actually, we do credit customers' BTR back if the cancellation is due to problems on our side or the technical issue.
I have notified our customer rep and they are going to handle this for you in your  ticket.

Not that it was going to save me a ton of shares, but just seems like bad customer service or a bad system.

Thanks FreeWorm! It's not much points. I just thought it was odd that the immediate response was essentially "too bad".  Your customer service rocks though!

Yes we re-sent the unconfirmed withdrawals after upgraded to the new version

yes we credit 1% extra coins when you deposit and charge 1% when you withdraw

The small amount of withdrawals work find now  with the new wallet. However there're still issues with big amount withdraw processing.
We are discussing it with the dev Denny. We are going to raise the withdrawal limit as soon as it's solved.

I withdrew some funds from BTER. First I tried with my account key that starts with BTSX...

and I got this error message..
cancelled:BTSX account is not registered or memo is too long

Just after I tried to withdraw to my registered name and it worked.

Why did I get the above message when sending to my account key?

Also when will the withdrawal amount be raised from 5000?

I just asked this question to bter support today, but no answer yet........a 5k withdraw limit on a token that cost's 0.0000154, is nothing short of just stupid.....

1% withdrawal fee on BTER.. Anyone pissed about this? Yeah it's 1% deposit bonus also but for those who had their BTSX issued from the exchange we are always down -1% from our balance until we redeposit.

Bter is the best exchange I've used. The problems they had yesterday showed it was a good idea to have a limit to get comfortable & safe with the system.

At the same time there are a lot of buyers who want to buy more BTSX but not until they can withdraw the BTSX they already have on bter off the exchange. So yes it's frustrating :(

I would recommend they do both deposit and withdrawal limits for newcommers, just to be safe. Not on the total per day but just size of transaction.

Being able to buy so low is frustrating?  :D

I hope it goes down to 0.000012 and even 0.000009, so I can back up the truck.

I agree with this one, BTER is the top alt exchange there is. Since my involvement with cryptos in December I use them and never had a major problem with them. No hacks, no drama, they just do what they are supposed to do. OK now and then there is a withdrawal or deposit stuck but when you are dealing with this many new coins this is bound to happen.

There is demo wallet set up by puppies which you can use to transfer some funds to your wallet. All you need is 0.2BTSX
Hope this helps  :)

in the mean time http://104.131.238.223:8080 is up and running for your viewing pleasure.  username=demo password=demo walletpass=qwertyuiop.  Please don't change the password.  If someone does change the password please PM me so I can fix it.

**edit** I uploaded a very small amount of BTSX to the wallet.  Feel free to withdraw for registration purposes.  There is about a dollars worth of BTSX on this wallet.  Taking it all won't make you rich.  Please leave some for others/replace what you take.  This is assuming you have the wallet up and running already.  If you need help getting the wallet up and running, please ask for help in another thread.

in order to register your account on your local system.

1) Open your local bitsharesx program and go to my accounts. click your account name.  Click advanced.  Copy your account key.

2) on the web-wallet select my accounts on the left.  select demo-wallet.  Select transfer.  When the transfer page comes up enter .2 in the amount.  then select the green button to the right of the to <contact name> window.  This will bring up a new window.  Enter your desired user name in the top window.  Enter your account key below.  Click OK.  (if the name chosen is already registered on the blockchain its gonna throw an error.  Just pick a new name.  this is not your permanent name.  This is only to fund your wallet.  Enter a short memo like "I like puppies".  Click send.  Count to ten.  Go back to your local wallet.  Yes it is that fast.

3) go to my accounts.  Click your account name.  Click register account in upper right hand corner.  (This is your permanent name, and will also throw an error if you attempt to register something that is already registered)

Alternatively if you are super cool and don't need any of this GUI sissy stuff select the _console button on your local machine and type
Code: [Select]
wallet_list_my_accounts
copy your account key and then on the web-wallet
Code: [Select]
wallet_add_contact_account <account_name> <account_key>
wallet_transfer .2 BTSX demo-wallet <to_account_name> "I like puppies"
back on your local machine
Code: [Select]
wallet_account_register <account_name to register> <account name as it shows up in my accounts>

If I have left anything out, or something needs clarification please let me know.

I wasn't aware that they were having issues yesterday but if so I can understand temporarily decreasing the withdraw limit. The limit has been set to a 100k and I am testing it now.......

!WOW! as I typed this I opened my btsx wallet and my bter transfer was all ready in there we are talking about a transfer from exchange to wallet in less the 1 min. I take back everything I have said, I am very impressed.

Once people start sending money to various exchanges and back and realize the funds are available in seconds they will become addicted.  Transferring BTC can take 20 minutes to an hour.  Who has time for that legacy nonsense?  8)

GaltReport - are you running the newest version? Sometimes transaction details get lost, but if transaction was confirmed it WILL show in your balance, just the info that it came from BTER might be lost.

Do the following in the console if you have version 0.2.3.

First make sure your delegates are not producing blocks, in fact you should NEVER be producing blocks on a client you use to do transactions:
Code: [Select]
wallet_delegate_set_block_production ALL false
Ensure all transactions got parsed:
Code: [Select]
wallet_rescan_blockchain
Look for transactions that say UNKNOWN in any of the from/to fields for the amount you are not seeing.
Code: [Select]
wallet_account_transaction_history <your user name>

Hi freeworm,

I have sent you PM yesterday regarding withdrawal problem, but just to let you know that I have received it  :) this morning.
It would be nice if you could increase daily withdrawall limit as 100000BTSX=1.37BTC per day is very low.

Thank you

I just got my withdraws working.  I did several upgrades and really did a lot of testing.  Untimately I had to rescan my block chain.  However, I thought I was re-scanning but I really was not due to some missing console output:  https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares_toolkit/issues/589

I think it has been safe to withdraw.  Someone reported a delay that support helped fixed.  BTER will keep your withdraw attempt in there database so that is a layer of protection too.

Verify that your account is "registered,"  you probably don't want to pay some stranger.  Make a backup of your wallet first using the JSON wallet export.  Withdraw 2 BTSX first.  The computer is going to treat 2 just like it will treat 100000.

Maybe you can start a new topic for the giveaway.  Owning BTSX is a good thing.

They canceled my transaction and took all my BTR points. This clearly was their fault, not mine. Had they disabled withdraw, I wouldn't have been able to try. After trying 3 times to withdraw I emailed them. After emailing them they said:

Dear Sir,
Sorry, I am afraid the btr can not be returned. As the BTR is granted and deducted by the system automatically. BTR will be deducted when you try to withdraw, no matter the withdrawal is cancelled or not

Without the BTR, you can still withdraw freely.

If there is any question, please let us know
Thanks

"Without the BTR, you can now pay full price. Your loyalty to us previously, doesn't mean jack" FTFY

Not that it was going to save me a ton of shares, but just seems like bad customer service or a bad system.

Never got the BTR back. They wanted to know how much I had. I can't remember, so I guessed and was told that it was the wrong amount and it was probably under 2000 points. They wanted to know the exact points and trade times. Trade time were not recorded in my trade history since the didn't go through. I don't remember the exact points. It's kind of odd that I first get told, "BTR cannot be returned". Then I am told by FreeWorm that it can. And now since I didn't write down the number of points or the time of the failed trades they can't figure out how many I am owed, but they do know it was for sure "less than 2000". It's not worth anymore of my time.

Hi Bter,

If anyone who have withdrawl limit problem to get out your BTSX, please submit a ticket to us or pm me.
We will improve the limits for you manually.

Basically withdrawl limits is 6BTC equal to 350,000 BTSX :)

I would like to appeal to you once again please try to increase daily withdrawal limit at least in line with your competitor Btc38.

Kind Regards

Currently the wallet makes it easier to send btsx to registered accounts

New Bitshares holders are not able to withdraw there shares from the exchange because the wallet charges a small fee to register there account.  The fee is a good thing that must stay.  However, if they could just withdraw to there public key (or to there registered account) you would have both easy and 'it always works.'  This would avoid having them go to a faucet as a work-around.

I am pretty sure this will one THE WALLET allows that too .. currently you nees to create a local contact for each pubkey .. not registered .. devs are working on it ..

I made a small withdrawal of 8 BTSX from BTER last night but I still can't see it credited on my account.

The payment appears to be processed and I have a transaction number from them.

Should I contact them or this is a known problem?

Is there a BTSX explorer I can check the transaction ID number like in bitcoinblockchain?

Make sure your name is registered; has a registration date.  If so, you may have to rescan the block chain.  It will take a little while.  Your console has that command.

If your going to look it up, this is my understanding: you still need to contact BTER to get the transaction ID.  PM freeworm, regular support did not provide this to me when I tried.  The ID I see there recently is 130 characters and probably will not be found in the block chain with a search.  The transaction ID is much shorter.

For whatever reason what they're putting there is the transaction hash which isn't very useful.  I suspect they'll fix that eventually.  I've had some larger delays in getting funds transferred but they have always gone through.  I suspect they are manually executing them so you'll probably get your money some time Monday.

We have been working on a solution to block syncing and should soon be able to sync at 1000 blocks per second on the Mac.

On Windows it seems to be about 50% slower for no good reason, so we should be syncing at 500 blocks per second.

freeworm,
Is there a BTC deposit limit on bter? I have sent 12 btc to my bter account as a BTC deposit but after 2h my balance is unaffected, nothing has showed up even though the bitcoin transaction is confirmed on the blockchain.
https://blockchain.info/tx-index/0c75c796475a05a49f38fefed52d93a557b089d2da9130dd6924c6d4e61f733b

The BTC deposit address that I used is correct, there is no mistake here. What is going on?

EDIT: I contacted bter support on
http://support.bter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
and after a few hours they replied "the issue has been solved" (without giving any reason) and the missing funds did appear on my bter account. But still things like that should not be happening... Beware of depositing bigger funds there.

1% withdrawl fee - thats eye wateringly expensive. I was using Bter for buying, but once more mainstream exchanges pick it up I will have to look for opportunities to try and convert my BTSX to BTC and BTSX on them to withdraw.

1% is just insane - how is everybody happy with it?

It's a bit of a wash.  The only way out of BTSX->Fiat currently is BTC so you're going to be going the other way at some point and you get 1% bonus when depositing.

I just want BTSX in my wallet to be safe. I will probably try selling there and buying at some other exchange.

The 1% fee is insane, I am PMing them. Hopefully others do the same.
This only helps all those are cashing out as they get extra to sell. All those who want to pick up more have to pay  a premium.

I too can't stand the 1% withdrawal fee...it feels like I'm being coerced to keep my BTSX on their exchange instead of my wallet, or I'll have to pay up to keep my coins safe in my possession. But the risks of staying on an exchange nowadays are just too great, so I just had to pay the fee. In the future if I decide to cash out, it will probably be into BitUSD through the wallet, so I have effectively lost 1% of my coins.

Very uncool.

I've just added it and uploaded the changes.

If what BTER lists in their transaction history corresponds to the actual transaction id registered on the block chain you'll now be able to find the block by searching for the transaction id here:

There is a 1% bonus for depositing.  It works out to be a little less when you go full circle.  I know it is not ideal, but at least one can hold the coins until something needs to be done with them.  This assumes advance notice will be given before bter's removal of the bonus/withdraw fee.  I have not confirmed this.  @luckbit, can you say anything about the permanency of the 1% deposit/withdraw or will advance notice be given should this change?

Is it possible to get English support directly through their site?

Is it possible to get English support directly through their site?

Two weeks ago I had an issue with bter concerning a BTC deposit not showing up several hours after sending it. However posting a support ticket in English solved the problem:
http://support.bter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new (http://support.bter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new)
(even though they never explained what the issue was - they replied "issue solved" and the missing btc showed up)

Seems my problem was on my end rather than on Bter's, I've now received all transactions that I made after moving my wallet over to windows and the newest version. So far so good.

That 1% fee is insane though!! I notice bitUSD or bitCNY have 0% fees but I don't think I can move all my BTSX through them atm. Anyone know if Bter is planning on reducing that fee anytime soon?

One thing I discovered recently was the Interest BTER gives you each day, if you go and accept it by clicking. Free BTSX, that is pretty cool.

Is it normal that it takes over an hour to deposit BTSX in Bter?

Not normal. Did you include the memo?

BTER, Your take interest page is still showing BTSX, needs to be changed to BTS. I am not sure if daily interest is being accrued, maybe as a result of the name being wrong?

http://cointelegraph.com/news/113238/chat-logs-allegedly-show-bter-creating-and-pumping-its-own-coin

Is there an official statement from BTER  about this case ?
That's why we should not store even a Shatoshi/Larimer on centralized exchanges !!!
BUT because that will never happen from the majority of users, it is better to try to "cooperate" with more exchanges* so we can be more confident that not TO MUCH of BTS are ONLY on ONE (or 2) exchanges !!!

* and better we advertise better our decentralized exchange !!! (hope we can soon deposit & withdraw FIAT from our wallets!)
