The account is empty now.

As a result, @xeroc's and @roadscape's workers are voted out.

Seems someone is completely abandoning bts. On the bright side, one less whale to worry about. just seems strange someone with so many bts and even with xeroc as a proxy - meaning that person seems to  care - is just dumping all those coins.

someone selling +2M bts now on polo
edit: lol someone just bought 42 btc all at once, eating through that wall

Why can't I see the orderbooks or why are they hidden somewhere I cant find?
Network latency issue?

I dont know, I've always been able to see them. Not able to do so yesterday and today. Strange, never happened.
You're in the new view-only mode? Without registered an account?

Yes, I believe buy, sell orders and market history should still be shown to everyone.

I hate to ask this but with poloniex having most of the volume, can we be certain no such "Willy" bot is playing out similar to Gox?  I'm not knocking ETH, just makes one wonder about third party exchanges and exactly what the BitShares project is trying to fix.  Please do not turn my question into a ETH or BTS subject, simply asking about a third party exchange and the potential for another "willy" bot.

https://willyreport.wordpress.com/2014/05/25/the-willy-report-proof-of-massive-fraudulent-trading-activity-at-mt-gox-and-how-it-has-affected-the-price-of-bitcoin/

There's no way of knowing that. Any exchange can play the books. Except ours  :D

This fight around 2k, hope we can beat it

Colour scheme should be blue I guess?

BitShares seems to be the most scalable chain and is a project with great potential that gets overlooked many times. So I'd say a character that doesn't apparently look strong, I'd say a character that even looks weak, insecure and innocent but could explode in power (scalability) and surprise everyone, leaving them in the dust.

If I'd compare it with any character from any cartoons/anime I'd say a young Gohan from DBZ. Something of that type.

Use of the dex spiked again, with number of orders placed hitting a new high.

Its growing guys.  Maybe not as fast as we wanted, but growing.

A rising BTS price over time will also encourage use because shorting bitassets into existence will actually make money and get rewarded.

Also, people who are trying to use BTS will not be discouraged by the price crashing.

Yet precisely at these times, people can't transfer, can't register on OpenLedger and can't see the full display of the market pages.

yes, bugs in OL are a problem, but @bytemaster et al (sorry i don't know exactly who, else i would give them credit) are patching in some fixes over the weekend that should solve a lot of the issues.

we have plenty of great ideas for new features in this community, but i'll say this over and over, the best project we can be working at any given time is simply improving the user experience; that has to be something we're continuously funding, that we're all continuously making an effort to stress the UI and identify areas that can be improved.

it would be such a shame if we had new users interested in Bitshares come try to open an account, maybe place some trades, but ditch it altogether after a buggy experience.

I agree, we need something solid first so then we can start building stuff around it. If the core isn't working as it should, it doesn't matter how many features we have.

Yesterday I tried to show OpenLedger to a friend of mine and unfortunately he wasn't able to register. Also when I checked the market pairs the tables for bids and asks weren't showing, only something related to settlement. I wanted the tables to appear so he would see the entire layout.

I was really disappointed honestly, he was the person who introduced me to crypto and he only got interested in BitShares later because I've always explained him what was going on and giving updates.

Yesterday when I finally had the chance to show him OpenLedger, the situation above happened and got me really disappointed. I was saying hoe he should see 2.0, how better and smooth it is than the previous version and then that happened.

This experienced has surely happened to many other users, specially during this surge in price. During the exact time we can't afford to make mistakes like this.

Like our fellow chinese members say: it's a shame. I got frustrated.

@lil_jay890 I think you should expose that on today's mumble to get more attention. people cant ignore someone with experience

General Discussion / Re: Subsidizing Market Liquidity
« on: March 11, 2016, 09:21:22 am »
Let me ask you this. Why should someone be allowed to place an order 50% away from the peg and earn any points towards the "reward system"? or 40%? or 30%? How useful are orders that far away from the peg, really? And why would shareholders want some of the funds going to those who place such useless orders? Obviously, some restrictions need to be in place.

 +5%

Given the current BTS momentum and spotlight, BTS will gain much more value from implementing an imperfect liquidity subsidy now and adjusting it based on participant behaviour than waiting a few weeks/months to get one right. So if the cost is reasonable to start one, <$100/200 a day, then I would start it sharpish to build on the current attention and momentum & get more people onto the DEX.

And who would do this? CNX is handling stealth. abit?

yes if BTS (aka trust) has not discovered the self funding self f*ing blockchain innovation, we would be at 2100-2300 sat right now...

We might still eventual get there, but man that is pretty stupid move.

Yep he just keeps on claiming funds

It almost feels like Ethereum (and perhaps some others) has been adopted by whales and presented as a red herring, to distract the masses while they quietly accumulate Bitshares.

The Ethereum user experience is dire compared to what Bitshares is running with.

Would be interesting to see them mimick 0.9 all over again. Hilarious to say the least. We would trade positions.

What about the connection for DAC PLAY? Aren't they Chinese? If the connection is done from somewhere already within China it should be faster, problem are connections that cross China, in and out
