currently if you search for "open ledger" which is what people will search more I guess, it shows OpenLedger related results, only when you specifically type "projet" will the IBM thing appear. Guess this could change with time but yeah, like xeroc said, free exposure for OL.

Ronny should issue a UIA where the proceeds go toward legal fees to sue IBM, and the rest for whatever (publicity)
I'd buy some just to read the articles:
"IBM,JPM, Cisco, and Wells Fargo sued for stealing IP"
If they pay to buy the name off us, then we split it up into however many UIA shares are issued

Then they come to the OL site and just see a login that doesn't explain anything about what it is or what it does. People really want to see a login prompt when they visit a site for the first time. :'(

You guys behave like OL is bitshares... should I say they are not quite the same, very much the opposite is true.
Let's look at the facts.
- The Obits offering is sketchy, to say the least. Profit sharing is fine, details are gold [severely lacking details in this case]. How about anwering some of those question, instead of the never arriving into reality card:
What will happen if not all Obits are sold? What percent of the income will go to the one actually sold? What will happen to the unsold ones?
-basic explanation why the Obits sells are needed in the firs place would be also good... but no one cares to mention why they need 1 mil or so USD, and/ or what they will do with that cash
- Proceed of obits sells are used to simply dump BTS on the exchanges. It might be unavoidable evil if it was clear what the money are needed for, but OL hates explaining facts of life (great words for the departed or the one yet to come, is their strength, it seems)
-If the above is not bad enough, instead of efforts to improve in someway its core business (exchange on the bts chain), the money are used to buy all kind of unrelated and semi-related businesses (casinos, advertising networks, tipping bots etc.)
- The way this 'exchange' is run is also a big suspect... I often think the guy was indeed journalist responsible for the obits section of some newspaper... great media contact and total lack of idea what he is doing on the exchange side (aka core business). What I mean? well, I semi get that bitAssets are a total screw up in their mind so they rather not touch them but run their own UIAs -OPENBTCs and the like... but even those IOUs are totally totally ridiculously done.... you send your btc and you get some OpenBTC... then you have to sell them for enormous premium to get into BTS...things get even more crazy if you want to exit the system... Currently, OL do not care to offer their OPENBTC for anything close to market rate... actually they do not care to offer them AT all for people wanting to take their btc out...some random guy is left to do that for them...and he is asking for 160,000 BTS/BTC with a market rate in the 125,000 range...
So, let's get some money to everyone promoting the above nonsense, shell we?

I'd say its just the right time to rename BitShares as openledger, this is a great publicity opportunity , we should not miss one. I hope Ronny has the trademark registered.

The current performance goal for OBC is to achieve 100,000 transactions per second in a standard production environment of approximately 15 validating nodes running in close proximity.
The initial OBC release package will offer three consensus implementations for users to select from: 1) No-op (consensus ignored); 2) Classic PBFT; and 3) SIEVE (an enhanced version of classic PBFT).
Does OBC have native currency?
No. However, if you really need a native currency for your chain network, you can develop your own native currency with chaincode.
This software is made available under the Apache License Version 2.0.

Can we use bitshares dex to trade the IBM stock as a derivative of the real IBM stock? Something like what DACx was doing..and do we know why they stopped doing it? Or can we create a market pegged asset with feed for IBM stocks?
If that was possible I would consider to take that bet since in the end of the day it will be centralized blockchains (IBM, etc..) vs. decentralized blockchains and startups. So it would be a hedging.. :)

Looks like a strong competitor to Graphene toolkit if CNX wants to push Graphene to potential private chain owners.

I am already actively in talks with IBM and the hyperledger project .. the IBM proposal is the best that I have seen so far .. but the whole hyperledger initiative is still in its early stages ..
