Just started up the wallet, and it seems a lot of delegates are missing blocks.

Delegate participation rate is 76.52%

Does this mean, we have to wait for an exchange to enlist DevShares before markets can be openend? I guess DevShares will be dependent on price feeds to.

Or will delegates have the oppurtunity to come up with their own prices until then?
This would make DevShares an interesting trading experience

I feel this kind of disclaimer is necessary to encourage exchanges to participate in our development network without fear of any liability. Some people will have a hard time managing their expectations, but it will be up to the community to remind them of the social consensus on the DevShares chain that there are no scams, “theft” is legitimate, and trust is a gamble.

loving this bit

Really Nice. Is a snapshot date already announced?

Yes, made another test withdrawal yesterday. Got the same error. They said they are updating their wallet and it might take some time. But this is about 10 hours ago, and withdrawals are possible again.

Time for another ticket.

I've had about 4100 bts in bter limbo since the 13th. I sent them a support ticket, and I'm confident they'll get the bts sent.

after sending them an email explaining that, their response was that BTS withdrawal was disabled, please wait to try my withdraw (then they closed the ticket).

but since it let me try the withdraw earlier (i guess the withdraws were supposed to have also been disabled when I tried mine?) processed it, and made my BTS disappear, I'm kind of concerned.

if they're still not understanding my explanation and my coin doesn't show after withdraws start back up I might have to ask a chinese member here to help translate for me.

That's strange, your BTS are in "limbo" since the 13th right?
We had the same problem and it got solved on the 14th. We had it back in our bter accounts.
So you also should have gotten it back already.

But with the freeze issue they shut the withdrawals down again, and it hasn't been up since.
Maybe they didn't get around to your withdrawal before the freeze.

This is the latest reply I've got:

Dear Sir,
As BTS deposit/withdrawal is disabled, I am afraid you can not check your BTS withdrawal record currently.
You withdrawal question will be fixed once the bts wallet is enabled again

We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Please kindly keep an eye on the bts withdrawal page for update

Best Regards

To be honest I'm not that worried, had many tickets with many exchanges and bter is usually pretty quick. But since it happened twice in 3 days, they might be taking some extra precautions before starting withdrawals again.

and that is why we should trade on BTS platform and not centralized exchanges

I agree, but since not many people are willing to play yet, it easier trading of exchanges.
That might be another reason why ripple is doing good lately.
I did a bit of trading in the end of 2013 on their network. And it already worked like a charm then, with quite a lot of markets.

[INFOGFX]

I thought inactivity fees, didn't apply anymore.
Also if they now do, I find it strange that bitassets, should have them to.

This would make our get interest on your bitassets pitch a bit more difficult, since you would have to move them. Not a problem for us now. But maybe when we reach mass adoption it's a different story.
We would have to explain, yes you earn interest, but only if you send your funds around, not real simple

Round 2.

After getting the BTS back in my BTER account yesterday, I figured I might as well leave it there for the sparkle snapshot.

Woke up this morning (5-6 am UTC). Made another withdrawal.

Just checked it, not in my wallet.

Now looking in the withdrawal section on bter, it says withdrawal disabled again. Also I can't see records of BTS withdrawals.
Now this time their not giving interest (on the remainder of my BTS) which kinda raises an alarm, especially with the last fork. interests working again

Just send a ticket, but I figure it will take a while, since it's nighttime in China.

Anyway just a heads up.

Actually I said exchange sparks belong to the exchange not to the depositors unless the exchange chooses to do otherwise.
... because you cannot force them to do otherwise (read: the "right" thing)  8)

Actually as founder I deem the right thing for the exchange to keep them.  I want the exchange to have financial incentive to list sparks so they can potentially sell them.  I want them to have a stake in the success.   I want people to keep funds off of exchanges.
What? That doesn't make any sense.
You want exchanges to list sparkle by giving them sparkle. But you do not want people trading sparkle on exchanges?

If they are stuck in a fork is there anyway we will eventually get the funds delivered?

Can your receive funds from other source ?

Yes, that's interesting. If they are on a fork, I guess they shouldn't be able to recieve funds either. Is anyone having a problem with deposits to BTER?

General Discussion / Re: Beyond Bitcoin Hangouts -- Delegate Poll
« on: December 14, 2014, 03:51:11 pm »
Let me start by thanking you for all the work you've done for BTS since day one, the hangouts give a deep insight into BTS. Sometimes I feel they give more info, than all posts combined in this forum.

The problem I personally have with delegates, is that I find it hard to estimate a value.
If there was a delegate handing out apples, or bitusd. And we knew how much they were spending, giving away than this would make it more easy.
At current marketcap I think that the devs surely deserve a 100% delegate, but if the marketcap were to get tenfold. What would the number be, we would be satisfied with?
I would like delegates to include this in their proposals, if we hit a X marketcap the percentage would go down to Y etc....

Now coming back to your proposal, i certainly think you bring value to BTS, but again it's hard to put a number on it. Somehow 100% feels like to much, so I'm going to vote no. But I would like to see you as a delegate. I hope others can give their insight on how much they value you.

Thinking about this, brothels should have their own BTSchain, they would be much easier to value :)

Edit: because of fluctuations delegates could get screwed by this proposal. Maybe it could be possible to peg the percentage to a certain price
