Maybe we could take Bitcoin seriously if core developers were interested in improving it but it cannot easily be improved. It's not future proof as a result of either the inaction of developers or the design which has created such inaction.

But it is clear there are a lot of ways to improve Bitcoin and the people who don't want altcoins are the ones who should be shouting to the Bitcoin core devs to implement these new ideas.

Clout... send me a PTS address, you earn a tip for your posts over there!

It seems to me that Bitcoin is moving toward DPOS of some variety (at least in discussion).

If bitcoin went dpos, would there still need to be competitive chains?

One chain to rule them all would still not work, yes?

I think it's a good thing. We will get a lot of feedback we wouldn't have gotten otherwise...

PPC launched the first POS cryptocurrency in 2012.
Bitshares will release DPOS, the first "super-peer POS“, soon.

According to current white paper "Bitcoin Cooperative Proof-of-Stake",
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1C4m-MFnxw0JjDorzrKs_IRQRqD9ila79o0IDt6KsbcE/edit?pli=1
"The proposed Bitcoin system is to be deployed in early 2016 as a hard fork of the blockchain within the Bitcoin network, following a year of public system testing. "

I am very happy hear this news, because I transfer all my BTC into either PTS/AGS or PPC months ago. :)

All this is good news, but i still feel like not enough effort is being put into getting people involved and interested. We are moving so fast with the tech, yet we are leaving  behind the masses that we want to adopt the tech.

Haha I forgot about this thread.  Of course bitcoin will inevitably have to transition to dpos.  Does Stephen offer a good implementation?

Also my pts adress is PfrKAPeWd1ZtmJJdcuExzHhnVCy7cYV3nu . Thanks for the tip!
