General Discussion / Re: 350M votes for marketing delegates WTF
« on: August 21, 2015, 05:54:07 am »
-argentina-marketing.matt608: 369M for his 100% delegate. Its hopeless, they save more in toilet paper than BitUSD.
-marketing.methodx: 355M votes - didnt he get bored and move onto his other business interests?
-market.cn.group101: 613M votes - they are "evangelizing" in China. The member that proposed that delegate has a grand total of 8 posts https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,13226.0.html He obviously got elected and pissed off.

Are we all just too apathetic to fire people?

Also, do delegates have to reapply for their 100% positions in BTS 2.0, so we can finally trim some fat?

In 2.0 no workers will be making any BTS until we elect them to do a project.  So all of these delegates people are bitching about will be making 0 again unless they get re-elected to do something (and I expect people are not going to want to vote for marketing delegates, because the expectation is marketers can make money off referrals if they do well).

We're probably going to be seeing the core dev team proposals get elected and get BTS, and probably a few other dev projects, and not much else.  I expect inflation rate to drop some.
So... You see no use for them in a few months as they continue to underproduce now, yet you let them stay on collecting +4K BTS per day diluting your share and poisoning the Bitshares image? Sound logic there buddy.  Vote them out now and show people how the democracy works. Wait, I forgot the regular BTS holder has no voting power to do shit unless he spends money buying more BTS to outweigh the counter vote the Dev group controls. Have we really come so far from bitcoin where you have to spend money on mining equipment to get any say? Look at the collusion between the large mining farms over XT.

You are hilarious with your mental gymnastics.

they just helped us tremendously to promote our affiliate program! they're offering $75 now per referral that bought at least $100 BTC.
https://blog.coinbase.com/2015/08/20/our-referral-bonuses-have-increased-from-25-to-75/

we can use this to counter some Ponzi/pyramid scheme FUD :)

How does it help Bitshares? It's for Bitcoin.

I think he means in relative terms of, "they're doing the same thing" Bitshares 2.0 aims to do.

We should just disable the self-moderation rules

That usually ends with someone drawing a dick on your face in permanent marker.   </bada bing>

not really. if you feel a thread should be deleted you can report and request it.

I am liking you more and more these days. Even though you get trigger happy moving threads from the "general discussion", it usually seems justified in context with the sub boards. I feel a lot of stuff you and Vikram move could be quite alright staying in GD as it is the most frequented sub. But you have proved to be quite consistent. Good job!

Not sure I get your reasoning because only you and a few others would stoop to those tactics.  After all, you are the first to think of it publicly.

...so BJ2.0 makes a thread, deletes it, and newmine can't help but exclaim censorship and conspiracy.

Just another day on bitsharestalk.  :D

Why would BItcoinJesus2.0 delete any thread at all? Unless to censor something someone else said in his thread, right? If he didn't like anything he personally said, he could simply erase what he wrote.  Instead he deleted everyone's comments. Seemed odd, especially in reference to what was going on at /r/bitcoin.

So yeah. I can't help exclaim censorship, because it was exactly that. BJ2.0 censored everyone's thoughts from that thread for no reason at all.

Here is what my comment was near verbatim:

Careful what you say here.

Everyone else needs to read this very carefully.

I have been posting a lot less. Would you like me to exclaim more frequently? Because your dumb fucking comments make me want to.

I didn't do it.
@newmine can you create this thread again and we will continue discussion?

I didn't create the original thread. I just responded to Empirical1.2's comment. When I came here to find the thread and see what comments took place next, my comment was gone from my history. I searched for Empiricals comment and gone too.

I just thought it would be funny if "if" someone was deleting threads and posts while all the theymos accusation of censorship are going on in the BTC community over XT.

There was a thread that started with "The most important thing Bitshares...." has been deleted because it possessed posts that questioned CNX's ability to stay true to Bitshares. I only know this because my last post was a response to a well written post by Empirical1.2. I couldn't find my post or his and decided to search my history where I found the link to the thread here https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,17994.0.html
And it has been completely removed.

Hrm......

Are we already being controlled by the new central authority CNX? Or was this a lowly mod, jealous of all the power theymos and Co. have at BTCtalk and /r/bitcoin and wanted some satisfaction too?

General Discussion / Re: Announcing Brownie Points (BROWNIE.PTS)
« on: August 13, 2015, 11:26:23 pm »
This is hilarious.

Share dropping on Brownie.PTS is brilliant!

The less you give to the masses and the more you give to the circlejerk could only help identabit or Maker spread to the masses.  Kinda of like a massive mail campaign only sending ads to people who live on East 20th streets across the U.S., or only to those who have XX in their email address.

Great plan!

General Discussion / Re: Maker sharedrop on the BitShares community
« on: August 11, 2015, 04:10:27 pm »

IMHO, because you don't really use any of the BitShares tech (software-wise),
I'd say there is no need to sharedrop at all .. unless, of course you want to
grab and motivate the bitshares community as a whole.

Alternatively, you may consider not sharedropping BTS but Brownie.PTS (the
tokens handed out by BM as an appreciation of work done for the BitShares
ecosystem -- disclaimer: I have some)

Xeroc, stop trying to ruin the BTS value, and let someone sharedrop on BTS.
Seriously, what are you trying to do.
You come off as such a POS in this post.

I would even go as far as stating that brownie.pts holders are most active in the community

You can't claim that, there will be active members whom BM doesn't appreciate.
......

What is EVM?

I am one of those.  Errr, was one of those. I lost all desire to even point out the errors of your ways and decided to let the cards fall where they may. Chatting with ABL a few weeks back, someone who didn't care but had nothing but incentive to see this project succeed, made me realize this project was dead in the water.

It probably isn't Bm decision. He is probably under nda

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If it was NDA, he wouldn't have been allowed to even hint at it. Sometimes the collective stupidity amazes me here.

The obvious thing is that it was truly hot air. It is possible that they were talking to a bank and if so, you should be worried. If a bank buys this tech, then there goes any chance of expanding your user base. A majority if people are quite comfortable with the Evil banks and using their services rather than the dark web/black market means of money services. Man, I actually hope this happens to prove my points about Cryptonomex and the licensing crap.

Technical Support / Re: Wallet won't opern
« on: July 31, 2015, 04:05:18 pm »
I have been running the BTS 0.9.1 for several weeks without a problem. Yesterday my laptop shut down unexpectedly.

When I restarted the computer the BitShares wallet wouldn't launch. I would enter my password and click on "unlock" and the screen would flash the waiting dots for a second, and then stop. Press "unlock" again, same thing.

So I uninstalled 0.9.1 and installed 0.9.2

Now when I enter my password and click on "unlock" the waiting screen with flasing dots stays on for a long time, then goes off. The task manager shows me that my memory usage keeps going up rapidly while the dots are showing, then memory usage increase slows right down when they disappear. Clicking on "unlock" again brings the dots back and memory usage keeps increasing.

I then tried deleting all the folders in my "appdata" "roaming"  "bitshares" except for wallets. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled 0.9.2

Same results. Can't open the wallet.  Repeated the previous steps, but same result.

I am using a laptop with Windows 7  with 16GB RAM  and 64-bit operating system and a solid state hard drive.

I have never had problems loading BitShares new releases on this computer before now.

Any suggestions?

Needs more grape Koolaid.  :-[

Try deleting your wallet. Hopefully you backed it up or saved the privatekeys. This was the only way I was able to get in. Now unfortunately, it's taken 2 days to regenerate keys and I still don't have my balance. I can't wait for Bitshares 2.0  ;) if you think Bitshares 0.9.2 was a piece of shit after 20 months of development, wait till you get a load of 2.0 after only 5 months of development.  It will be one of the greatest shits ever. Bigger than Bono.  ;)

"Proposals".....

Do t forget that CNX gets to distribute Bitshares code for a profit to outside parties, competitors, or anyone who wants to "plug in" in anyway, from 3rd party exchanges to payment processors. How else will the Devs get paid?

Are you saying that competitors might gain an advandage? If yes then why on some threads you wanted all of our "competitors" to have access to the BitShares code without geting permision from our devs? aren't you contradicting yourself? or it's just your casual FUDing?

How's that BTS price going?
