General Discussion / Re: New Chapter for MktDirector

"Next month", "Quarter X 201X", "Can't divulge our plans", "huge marketing push coming soon". The check is always in the mail responses are very alarming. There is a pattern here.

My guess is the Marketing team sucked all the funds they could get away with without producing. I3 has to stand by the erroneous decisions due to the scam landscape in the altcoin hobby. A internal controversy could make or break these things. So, I3 keeps kicking the can hoping Bitshares will catch fire on its own throug no help from the marketing team.

If anyone from Brian's team gets a 100% delegate elected, I will be divesting. I would rather Stacey from MethodX's team be a 100% delegate. Then again maybe Method and Stacey are already part of Brian's team? Has MethodX revealed his identity?

All members of this community who I communicate with regularly know who I am. My name is Matt MacPherson. Add me to Facebook, follow me on Twitter... whatever. I am not a member of Brians marketing team. I welcome you to join nullstreet and see first hand the progress being made by community members.

I was being facetious about you being part of Brian's team.

By the way, you are doing good work. You have done more in two-three months than Brian's team has done in over a year. Here he got $100k and BTS and you are getting about $1500/mo in BTS you have to liquidate just to bankroll any marketing, go figure. Keep it up if you can afford to float it! My guess is you will have to put up a chunk of your own money (you might want to check the opportunity cost on that money, buy more bts vs. spending money on marketing) to do any realistic viable advertising. I think there were a couple other delegates wanting to do marketing and sought out advertising only to find it would take months-years to gather enough bts to fund a decent highly viewed ad.

I will allow myself to be exploited temporarily. I'm fully aware of what's going on. I view this as more than just an investment and am genuinely committed to decentralized solutions and the social change it will inevitably bring about. For that, I think it's worth being taken advantage of. Otherwise, no rational person would ever do what I'm doing.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Delegate Proposal: del0.cass

Cass is there a central place where people can access all BitShares related graphics?

Nullstreet.com and click on repository. I'm trying to get more graphics moved over.

Mobile Responsive is def important for SEO.  The smaller the site file is the better.  Speed of loading site is equally important.

SEO is a non-issue. Mobile optimization and speed is important if you're targeting long-tail keywords. When people search for "bitshares", bitshares.org will always be the first result in Google.

Site load speed is one of the top on site factors for ranking factors according to numerous analysis reports regardless of long tail or short tail.

SEO for bitShares is irrelevant. The only keywords that matter are 'bitshares', 'bitusd' and 'bitgold'. Even if you do manage to rank for keywords such as "online banking" (which won't happen after panda and penguin) you won't get a conversion event from it. What keywords are you trying to rank for and why?

General Discussion / Re: Say Hello To Stacey Everyone

Toast,Cass and MethodX all provided tons of github, graphic work or demonstrated a great understanding of marketing. It (at least for me) was very easy to see the value of any of these players very quickly. I not only encourage but applaud anyone who does anything big or small as a volunteer.I do feel that volunteer's VS paid delegates should be held to different standards and that it is important to know who is what so that we as a community can accurately judge the work said person is or isn't doing. With MethodX having a delegate(which I supported and he is doing a great job) I felt it was important for it to be known if delegate funds were being used for this idea. It lets all of us as shareholders vote on delegates that provide value to the system, whether through development of code, graphical design, or and other skill deemed useful.

Ok, I finally understand your point now. Yes this is a very valid concern to have and something I never even considered the OP could be interpreted as. She is not being paid for this. It's legitimately a fun project the me and Stacey want to work on. We have two videos planned and nothing beyond that.

Delegate? How about we see how the first video does. This is just a fun thing we want to do and see what happens.

When she said "I've been into Bitcoin since the beginning" she meant since it became popular last year by the way. She'll have my script so no worries on the technicals.

This is one of my closest and most trusted friends. Her name is Stacey, she's into crypto and she would love to do a video on getting hired by the blockchain. I think a female face like hers would attract a lot of attention from the crypto community (99% male). We'll begin working on the video around mid December. She also wants to do more if this goes over well. What do you guys think?

General Discussion / Re: Venezuela needs bitUSD

Another country where bitUSD could explode :  http://panampost.com/peter-sacco/2014/12/02/venezuelas-plummeting-bolivar-dips-into-hyperinflation/

We definitely need to translate everything in  Spanish. Clearly there is tremendous potential in Latin America for bitUSD.

I'm voting for matt608 for sure.

+5% There is so much potential in Latin America it's not even funny.

General Discussion / Re: BitGOLD & BitSILVER and other BitCommodities
« on: December 07, 2014, 04:55:46 pm »
Given the possibility that all currencies are likely to become even more volatile relative to each other & that FIAT is a race to the bottom, shouldn't BitGLD, BitSLV and other commodity pegged assets receive more of our marketing attention than the BitAssets pegged to paper?  Aren't paper currency values certain to fall off a cliff and soon?

Early adopters of BitShares and early users of BitGLD etc could benefit from a upward revaluation that seems inevitable.....

I'd be very interested to know your thoughts....

I've come to this conclusion as well.

Great idea Method-X. Anything we can do to help?
 +5%

Thanks for asking. I won't be able to do this until DNS capability is live.

I'm just wonder with .p2p would I be able to create website, upload the website files into the Bitshares program and view other .p2p sites from within Bitshares? So more or less, Bitshares would be a browser, and the server would be my laptop working with Bitshares.

I think how it works is you will add a browser plugin and be able to type nullstreet.p2p in your regular browser.

General Discussion / Re: Benefits of Becoming a BitShares Gateway
« on: December 06, 2014, 09:06:07 pm »
It reads a little bit like we are expecting them to completely change the way they do business rather than showing them a way to integrate BitShares with their system.  Maybe I'm reading it wrong but I would recommend emphasizing any smooth way for them to integrate us into their existing model.  It would be  a very hard sell to an established organization to get them to completely redo their business around Bitshares.

The intent was to add to their business not change their existing business.   If I could communicate that better I am open to suggestions.

Insert a concluding paragraph or two with the intention of conveying that all this can be done with minimal friction and complements their existing business model.

General Discussion / Proposal: nullstreet.p2p
« on: December 06, 2014, 03:11:41 pm »
I intend to register nullstreet.p2p and set the .com as a mirror. I'll use multi-sig to spread the .p2p private key amongst the founders of Bitshares. This is the same technique used to secure nuclear launch codes. Once Invictus is disbanded, I believe this model is necessary for Bitshares to operate on a similar level of efficiency as a centralized company while still remaining decentralized.

After much deliberation, I've determined it's too dangerous to have a point of operations controlled by any one person. I don't want nullstreet to be about Method-X. I genuinely want to ensure the success of decentralized money and will do anything and everything in my power to see that vision come to fruition.
