don't like the reserve fund? Vote to burn it all

fuck you cob!

You must not have read the last half of this thread. No more foul language is needed. But you still have your fingers if you need them for gestures.  ;)

Those of you criticizing Cob don't seem to remember that 500M was part of the allocation. You know, if Kanye or Apple want in, then you give them a cut.

But that doesn't mean we can't burn it if everyone votes to do so.

Stan, if I could upvote that post, I would. Plenty of people here are only beginning to understand that opportunity.

Toby has been contributing here on the forum and he's into BitShares. I'd love to see his songs get used for PeerTracks promotions.

the other cool part is how members get to vote on what to do with the 500,000,000 MUSE reserve fund that the DAC starts out with (in the unbreakable blockchain bank)

Give the developers a bonus and then...

Terrific!

I think the Music DAC could grow a lot more quickly in the beginning. Past the beginning, they'll both take over their industries.

So I'll guess: April 1, 2016

I'll stick with BTS. Not convinced the Chinese economy will get back to where everyone thinks it should be. Personally, I don't see what's wrong with growing 7% a quarter (which is not sustainable anyway, even at that rate), but perception is everything and we're told that the economy is 'underperforming'. If so, I wouldn't bet on the yuan becoming a reserve currency for a while still.

I'm happy to see this fee stability. Thank you.

I love the referral system. It is truly innovative in the cryptocurrency space and will help Bitshares grow via magnified network effects.

I do have a question about how it works though. Is is multi-level or single level?

If I refer someone I get a portion of their fees, I get that. What if they in turn refer someone? Then that someone refers someone else?

Is a MLM affiliate scheme better than a single level affiliate scheme? I have my own opinion, but I am interested in hearing everyone else's. I am thinking I may be in the minority on this... pro MLM. MLM structures promote users to recruit other users that will then recruit other users, and so on so forth. Recruiting mainly other users that will recruit other users is currently in the best interest of Bitshares as we are very early in the game. Magnifying the network affect of the referral system is in our best interest IMO. How many levels deep should it go, or should it ideally be unlimited down to a fraction of a percent?

I'm pro-levels also. This thing would take over the world. But what they've done is a big step in the right direction.

Im happy for you.

We might have been sloppy in the past, but have you seen how fast & usable the webwallet is now? Add to that we are finally deflationary!

Good time to buy back in.
The team ignore that the biggest user experience is like things making migration easier, notifying exchanges when upgrade.
It is not at the UI, but how smooth people use it. When people want to use 2.0, everyone have to migrate, and the team strangely do not think it important.
The result is, no one is actually responsible for bitshares.

I think a big reason for this massive upgrade is that they DO NOT want this to keep happening. As of this moment, there are still very few people using BitShares, so such a transition could occur. In essence, we have been the beta testers. Hopefully, we won't need to go through this sort of thing again in a big way. In the next phase, there will be more adopters.

I believe it was the concern of looking like a pyramid was the reason to not.

Two levels does not make a pyramid; I'm pretty sure you need at least one more.

By the way, pyramids have a bum rap. They appear on the US dollar bill. Strongest structure known to man. The ones in Egypt have lasted for more than 4,000 years and it's not an accident that the best preserved ancient structures in other parts of the world also have a similar form. Every organization in the world, public or private sector, essentially has a pyramid structure. And there is no better marketing structure in the world than some form of pyramid; as long as you are not requiring people to pay in and you are not paying out more than is sustainable, then it's not a ponzi. Nearly every Fortune 1000 company has a similar marketing structure. Etc. etc. Though I do understand that perceptions are important.

It's really critical to keep that network alive, just so people can export from it.

I'm going out on a limb here to predict that Colombia's Merkabahnk and CriptoBanco Exchange will be the next to join BitShares.

Edit: Oh, darn, they beat me to it!  ;)

Personally, I'm glad you sold, too. It shows an absence of long term vision on your part and I'm not sure I want people like that around. I probably bought your BTS!  ;)
