General Discussion / Re: 606 bts will prevent website from using bitshares

Fees can be adjusted at any time by the committee, they were set back when the price was far lower - if you want to issue a token and believe the costs are too high then contact your elected committee members regarding these concerns.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: BSIPs 23 & 24

RE: BSIP-0023, we've missed the opportunity to have the first BTC token sharedropped onto a graphene chain: https://news.bitcoin.com/the-first-dpos-hard-fork-lightning-bitcoin-is-on-the-way/

That said, it's still massively worthwhile researching the ability to sharedrop an UIA based on an external crypto snapshot.

Sounds good to me - let's vote to pay some great developers! :D

I remember that CoinHoarder use to be supporter of BTS.
What happened?   :)

Meh, kind of a lot of reasons.

- I realized the Larimers are greedy when they stopped sharedropping PTS/AGS, due to the stuff with the Bitshares DAC mergers, and how the Steem project started.
- I disagreed with the lack of development (pretty much only GUI work done since Dan left)
- I felt like my opinions and ideas weren't taken seriously by the community.
- I realized there are better designed DEXs that will eventually come to fruition that don't use IOUs or derivatives.
- Tether kicked bitUSD's butt.
- The proliferation of Bitshares vaporware fork scams that never seem to come to fuition (or at least to their full potential) by "community" members.

Even with all that stuff, I still root for Bitshares because I was such an avid supporter in its beginning. Some people bought BTS because of my advice, so I want Bitshares to succeed. I just dont own any anymore. I have always been a Bitshares supporter, but I am more honest and blunt than most, so my posts may not come off that way.

Am I the only one here that thinks tether usd has become total scam ?
Tether has zero proven backing collateral, and is centrally issued. I'd avoid it at all costs.

Excellent news! Takes a while to load for me, but it's great to see an exchange accept smartcoins :D

You need to interact with a full node which provides RPC access.

Anyone can perform analytics against the BTS blockchain historical data, if you're not using stealth/confidential-transactions then this is a given fact.
I do believe that this public data is valuable for us all though, we can gain insights into the utilization of BTS for use in marketing.
If google ends up publicly analyzing the BTS DEX data, then that's great for our mainstream exposure.

Would this be paid work? I've written a few BSIPs recently.

and it's still nothing they can work on right now.

Not a fact.
Current Bitshares functionality will need to be implemented as an EOS native smart contract. This work can start now.

Given zero BSIPs on the routes to EOS integration, this isn't a serious proposal and won't make it in time for the ICO. Perhaps bringing some of EOS' functionality to BTS is plausible, but BTS merging into/onto EOS is highly unlikely.

OP: Got any BSIPs to share? :)

Execution time of 1.5 minutes? Pathetic! Bring it down to several seconds then we're talking. In the mean time, ETH remains garbage tier baby crypto investment.

I’m all ears to support an MPA or SmartCoin that doesn’t require an active witness for price feeds, just contact me, and I would be happy to talk about it.

I'm present on the BitShares Witness Telegram channel, as well as here and Steemit.

Howdy!

Check out my thread on https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,25083.msg311587.html#msg311587

I'm pushing for creation of BitETH and BitZEC as new smartcoins. I'd like them to be eventually adopted by "official" witnesses, but not sure of the mechanism for that. What are your thoughts?

In the current pre-bsip-0018 state of the network, crypto based smartcoins (MPAs) are vulnerable to global settlement ('black swan') events, once the BTS network has hard-forked to include bsip-0018 at the end of november, such assets will be more plausible for the long term.

That said, there's more interesting MPAs out there especially in the Algorithm Based Asset category of MPAs, IMO.

Keep it real,
CM.

Good luck getting anything added to wikipedia.

You need newspapers to have written about bitshares before your bitshares page evades insta-deletion by the community driven moderation.

Not a new idea, but I like the idea.

Effectively, shorters will experience debt destruction whilst holders experience the slow deflation of holdings.

I believe that such a proposal will have a one-sided market, with an over abundance of sellers (shorters) and a lack of buyers.

HERTZ style assets have the best of both worlds, both appreciation and deprecation.

Random Discussion / Re: Fork of steem, "calibrae"

We're doing this because there are issues in steem and we loved the concept of steem and both got burned by the implementation of steem.
The initial distribution of steem was pretty bullshit, and the steem network has ended up with massive whales and drama, heck it was officially 'announced' on april fools day on bitsharestalk, I genuinely believed it was a joke when initially announced thus missed the distribution they did to the first couple months of content creators.

If performing a snapshot/sharedrop, it utilizing vesting balances would be smart so that it can't be massively dumped from the start and that whales aren't as prevalent until far later down the road.

It'd be worth talking to the golos guys about how they kickstarted their chain. It's otherwise a trade secret within steemit.

What'd be quite interesting would be a sharedrop against many cryptos including Bitshares, perhaps using a zipf distribution to neutralize whales on each platform. Perhaps it'll be as easy as changing the genesis.json file in steem (similar to graphene's process) however it may be more complex than this.

I wrote BSIP-0023 (https://github.com/bitshares/bsips/blob/master/BSIP-0023.md) which briefly mentioned the topic of standardizing the creation of snapshots, I'm interested in your plans for sharedrop & documenting the process for the steem fork.

edit: Oh, hadn't realized you were that faddat - DOA project, lol.
