General Discussion / Re: BitShares 0.6.2 Feedback
« on: February 26, 2015, 05:48:31 pm »
Much faster speed-  I was able to replay and download the entire chain in about an hour.  And the new identicons are awesome!  +5% If they could be reversed and scanned like QR codes it'd be really cool  8)

I cannot find the 'Console'.  Is it in the web wallet?

Click your username > Advanced > Console

I think this layout is new to 6.0+

Can we trade on web wallet? I can't... Should I wait a little bit more? ;)

Trade, sure just another 1000 lines of code .. no problem!  I know it is worth it to you.  I'll make it happen.

Dude you're seriously kickass.  +5%

+5% to "BitShares Exchange" instead of wallet.

Nice!  +5%  I was able to register a new account as well as send and receive funds without any problems.  It's not quite as fast as the full client but damn fast!   8)
Question- whys the transaction fee set to 1+ BTS by default?

If you consider blockchain downloading / processing / replaying, this is MUCH faster than the full client.

Oh absolutely!  I just meant confirmation speed... and even then it's still wicked-fast.

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares now has a professional PR initiative
« on: February 25, 2015, 05:57:39 pm »
I was late to the announcement so I couldn't read the details but from what I've gathered there will be a PR representative that will help organize and translate development news which has been needed for quite some time IMO.

I think the small fish in China has been asking for this too . Just got ignored .

I agree.  BitShares is a decentralized autonomous community but we live in separate camps on the forum because of the translation barrier.  Everything is transparent which is wonderful but it's unorganized and difficult to follow for those that don't speak English or don't live on GitHub.  We need the international community to come together and I think this is a positive step towards that direction and I see this PR position as being very beneficial (and much needed) if done properly.

So I sent from bitcoin QT to the pre-sale address, how do I find the public key for that transaction?
It's your "from" address from your QT wallet.

So these are BTC addresses or how do I know what address to search for please?

Search for your public BTC or PTS addresses and compare the allocation with your allocation from the Balance section in http://www1.agsexplorer.com

If he actually stands up to the troika I will give him some credit, but he hasn't accomplished anything yet.

There is also something to be said for controlled opposition...which he may be.

That's always a possibility.  We can only wait and see.

Bump.  What's the status on this?  I've been out of the loop  8)

At the console type in the command:

wallet_collect_vested_balances <account_name>

and you will get your vested balances up to the time you enter the command. Then, thereafter, anytime you enter that command you will get the amount of shares that have vested since last time you entered the command.

That worked beautifully- thanks!   8)
For those that haven't done so already, get your sharedrops!

General Discussion / Re: ShapeShift useful for bitUSD?
« on: February 20, 2015, 05:54:43 pm »
Bitshares and BitUSD are currently unavailable on shapeshift. anyone know why?

I think Shapeshift was matching books from Bter but when Bter went down there was nothing to match.
