Title: Next Generation Virtual World with Blockchain Tecnology
Post by: jae208 on March 23, 2014, 04:35:10 pm
What if we were to use "mining" not only to secure a network but also to create a next generation virtual world on where you would use a distributed network of computers to render the virtual environment with life like detail? Apparently the guy that created SecondLife is working on a next generation virtual environment that will make use of distributed networks to enhance the experience.

Maybe Dan Larimer should contact these people and figure out a way to create a "proof of render" algorithm that will use Bitcoin blockchain technology to construct a high quality virtual environment?

They are thinking about it too but I don't know if they know Bitcoin

"In exchange for virtual money, virtual citizens will assign their computer’s unused processing power—when they’re sleeping, for example—to construct High Fidelity’s world in exquisite detail."

Here is a link to the article that exposed me to this

And here is a link to the website for the company that wants to do this.

It'd be interesting to have a collaboration with them. In addition, DACs work just as well, if not better, inside games as they do outside. Exchanges, Assets, Lottery, Keyhotee, ... :D

Yeah I think that that would be awesome if we can get Dan Larimer to contact Highfidelity and figure out how to create a profitable distributed system. Who knows maybe than can issue shares or currency to people that fund the project? AGS/PTS style?
