General Discussion / Re: Bistshares vs Waves Platform
« on: July 04, 2017, 12:38:10 am »
BitShares is better technically and on the aspect of having a true decentralized and stable token. However that is not everything. Waves is way better funded, has more momentum and way better PR than BitShares. Their DEX even if it isn't as good, looks better. So people will naturally go there becasue user experience matters.

Either way, I think what matters the most and what ends up making the difference in the end will be liquidity. People trade where's volume. So better pump these bots, which are one of the best things happening to Bts imo. Anyone can provide liquidity even if only a tiny bit.

Btw, the way that was handled on Twitter was bad. It doesn't look good or show confidence on BitShares' product. Just focus on BitShares and bringing in liquidity, let others alone. The tech is here, so it's just a matter of time until the cliente looks better and liquidity increases.

I think BitShares should take advantage of this altcoin bubble to hire someone or a team of UX experts to do a rework. It will end eventually and might be harder to do so in the future.

Have to agree with this.

Among things which waves has and bitshares does not have is funding, solid business plan and dev team which sticks to it. TPS is not a bottleneck for wide adoption, user experience is.
This simply isn't true, Bitshares has a serious amount of funding at its disposal within the reserve pool, you just need a solid worker proposal in order to be funded; we're talking about hundreds of millions of dollars within the reserve pool, much more than waves.

You've got my vote! :)

I removed my committee vote from Chris4210 due to his misbehaviour within Blockpay https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,24088.105.html

I have written up a draft BSIP-020 regarding profit-sharing for UIA tokens; previously BSIP-019 covered both MPA & UIA however it was suggested to split the BSIP so as to separate the different required functionality (minimizing confusion).

I would massively appreciate input on the BSIP.

General Discussion / Bitshares UI Customization Guide!
« on: July 02, 2017, 04:48:19 pm »
Hey,

Fuzzy contacted me on Telegram regarding the potential development of customized web wallets, so I created a draft guide regarding how to customize the Bitshares UI. The aim of this guide is to provide a fast on-ramp for new UI developers.

The guide covers the dev environment setup, editing the header/footer, changing the featured trading pairs throughout the UI and how to create new themes.

I'd greatly appreciate input on the guide, it's open source & MIT licensed on GitHub so it's open to the community to aid its development:

We need people talented enough to replicate STEEMIT if they wanted to. We are working on a large scale project and will pay for your time, and offer you a spot on our team.
Steem is MIT licensed & open-source, it doesn't take an ICO to create a fork..

You shouldn't store your BTS on centralized exchanges, trade within the BTS DEX!

General Discussion / Re: Cryptofresh update, feedback

I'd fully support a worker proposal for cryptofresh development if it is fully open sourced.
Likewise, I'd upvote any steemit posts about its development.

Thanks for all the work you've dedicated to bitshares.

General Discussion / Re: Should BTS DEX buy into the EOS ICO?
« on: June 26, 2017, 01:21:43 pm »
Given a BSIP explaining the intentions behind buying EOS, perhaps.. otherwise this just looks like gambling.

Looks good thus far, have you considered a worker proposal so you can spend more of your time developing this?

Keep up the great work! :)

I don't know what payouts are we talking about here if in another thread core bitshares dev complains that bitshares reserve can't afford hiring a team of devs to fix essential flaws.
It's absurd to suggest that the BTS DEX cannot afford developers, the reserve pool has hundreds of millions of Dollars in BTS at its disposal. The higher BTS gets in marketcap, the higher the reserve pool becomes.

So why not start spending these funds for hiring a team of professional developers first?

You don't hire someone without first coming up with tasks for them to perform. I have created a BSIP (working on splitting it in two), thus this feature request has taken a step towards potentially being developed.
Worker proposals can now be created from within the GUI, not just the CLI - we'll likely see more activity.
Point is, if someone's saying that we can't afford 'x' then they're wrong, people just need to take the initiative to work on proposals.
