Payment processors adopting Bitassets will bring them more utility and people can use them for eCommerce, increasing the likelihood someone would buy Bitassets. Having eCommerce on the block chain will increase the rate of deflation as transaction fees are destroyed, thus improving the bottom line of BitsharesX. There are several multi-coin payment processors and some have a form to submit or vote, and I will list some of the bigger multicoin payment processors here. Payment processors with an automatic coin add form or vote are listed below, for the ones that don't we will try to contact via social media or emails at a later date. These are the services known to work with alternative cryptocurrencies.

Being able to exchange BTSX at more places will get BTSX more exposure, as some people just prefer some exchanges over others or feel safer with certain exchanges, that brings more liquidity, and it spreads the risk around multiple exchanges. Getting Bitassets added to more exchanges will create more exposure (and thus demand) for Bitassets, and allow crypto currency exchanges to trade decentralized commodities (gold/oil) and FIAT... that is our selling point there. :)

The first mission of this campaign is to get added on a few more exchanges and a payment processor. I have ranked the top 11 exchanges in the last 24 hours comparing their volumes in USD and payment processors known to work with alternative crypto currencies. Any help with links, emails, new services, etc. would be nice.

Pretty much all of the campaign missions you can complete for free, please also suggest other people do the missions as well. Some exchanges allow voting for coins to get them accepted, so a community effort might could get BTSX or bitassets traded on them, and others will need to be contacted via other formats. We need you to vote, submit forms, send pre-filled tweets, and comment on their Facebook to really get their attention!

The red exchanges do not trade BTSx or bitassets.
The orange exchanges allow voting or form sumbittal for coins to be added.
The green exchanges have at least BTSX already trading but maybe not Bitassets.

General Discussion / Re: Nxtty going +5% monthly

Has anybody looked at their tech?

I'm guessing this 5% thing is an inflationary marketing stunt like the recent storj promotions?

Sent from my SCH-S720C using Tapatalk 2

Yes. The 5% interest is paid manually like dividends in a security every month in a centralized manner. It is not similar to the ways the proposals for bitasset interest would work.

These are some long term ideas- they are things are needed IMO to provide more
buying interest to bitassets like USD. It would be cool if this was the first
big security- that plans on developing all of these things. ;)
No so long term imho

- Payment gateway to quickly convert all bitassets to into Bitcoins. Then
bitassets would have all the utility of Bitcoins.. Ie. The Bitcoin
infrastructure.. Services, Stores, Etc... Preferably multi signature setup.
I've seen plenty of recent talks about ripple gateways and also a bitGLD gateway.
There've also been talk about a 'vending' machine (cant recall correctly .. sth. similar to vennd.io

- A payment processor or get added to current one. Create ways to spend and receive bitassets.
Once the market(s) stabalize and more money flows into bitUSD and other bitFIAT
version, they will probably see the power of it (+10secs confirmation time ..
that has to convince them)

- Create a hot wallet with client side private keys. Creat an easy way to store them.
Not sure what you mean by that, but BM already has plans about multi-sig that
works as easy as darkwallet with bitcoin. I remember a recent dev hangout where
he described the plans. I am sure once all those bugs are fixed they can get
back to coding more and more awesome features into the toolkit.

- A lightweight client like electrum where users don't have to download the
Blockchain. Create a convenient way to store them.
That's also already been discussed and addressed by BM. But AFAIR this does not
have a high priority currently. Although it would greatly simplify their
'webwallet' implementation of the wallet (think of this as a HTML5 version of
the software that works fully in javascript and thus can work on your mobile phone)

Yes I hope these are not long term goals, because I think they are needed for bitassets to reach parity without too many market restrictions. I think we need to keep it as free a market as possible.

Re: vennd. Something like vennd would be ideal, as bitassets exist you need to convert them to do anything useful with them. The ability of having a service to do this for you automatically makes it a lot easier to spend bitassets, so there is more of a reason to keep your $$ in them. It is hard for alternative coins to get adopted by mainstream companies.. They all seem to go with Bitcoin as far as payment processing. This would allow bitassets to gain business (transaction fees) from this added ecommerce activity and thus make the company more profitable, at the same time it will increase the demand for bitassets.

Re: payment processors/exchanges. There are some multi coin processors that have voting for which cryptos they add. Coinpayments.net for example. We can gather as a community and get enough votes or donations to get supported by them. This may be the quickest way to get a payment processor on board, we just need to get organized. Same goes with getting added to more exchanges would be a good thing as well... Some rather large exchanges have votes and donations to determine what to add.

Re: hot wallet/electrum. I was referring to something like a Blockchain.info wallet when I said hot wallet. Something very convenient as there is no download necessary and no syncing or downloading of the Blockchain. Then, separately something like Electrum that is a program instead of a website, which pretty much does the same thing. In both cases private keys are stored and kept client side. Deterministic public and private keys (like Bitshares) would be a nicer feature too compared to older cryptocurrencys and wallets.

Then maybe more people will buy bitassets, it's a win/win for Btsx
*confirmed* :-)

I'm glad some other people realize this. We need to get organized as a community to get exchange and payment processor adoption. I am going to do a bit of research as to which exchanges and payment processors that allow voting and donations to get added and start some sort of community goals in those regards. There's a thread Re: bitassets low hanging fruit... This is some as all it will take in some cases will be the Bitshares community to go to a website and place votes! An easy way to add utility and liquidity IMO.  :D

General Discussion / Re: Litecoin Sharedrop Fork
« on: September 03, 2014, 06:54:18 am »
I can tell you with 100% certainty that the Litecoin community views any innovation that doesn't help with improving the ease of use of Litecoin to be an unneeded gimmick, built to feed the appetite of crypto nerds, and any cryptocurrency with them will never achieve mass adoption because they are too complicated. I've heard them call any new features.. no matter how innovative... gimmicks, whiz bang features, shiny new balls, gizmos, doodads, gadgets, crypto feature circle jerks... I'm probably missing a few.  :D

That is why I am starting to get involved with cryptocoin 2.0 projects and leaving Bitcoin/Litecoin behind. The cryptocoin 2.0s are the ones that are truly pushing cryptocurrency technology forward. The big 2 cryptocurrencies' development has somewhat halted due to lack of development funds, too many opposing opinions (think congress.. democrats vs republicans,) and the majority thinking they are perfect just the way they are.

In summary, on top of it being a poor business decision for Bitshares, they wouldn't be interested in it anyways.

General Discussion / Re: Decentralized VPNs

with the fact that TOR has all ready be compromised what would be the purpose for using it at all?

Well, there is not concrete evidence that TOR is compromised. There is some circumstantial evidence and speculation, but nothing that would lead me to think it is for sure compromised. Whether TOR is actually compromised or not is pretty much anyone's guess. My opinion is that the government is able to reveal a very small portion of the traffic, but are unsuccessful for the most part. Otherwise, I think they would shut down some deep websites quicker than they have in the past.

Also.. TOR has been working on making browsing the internet anonymous for years and are still fixing bugs today.. I would argue that creating a new TOR-like system would be less secure than TOR itself due to the (possibly many) unkown bugs creating a whole new network would create.

eagleeye, since you're so worried what Nxt is doing..  be on the look out:  http://www.nxttechnologytree.com

check out monetary system. Nxt monsters are under your bed.

I've never seen the Nxt technology tree before. I must say... that is one sexy way of highlighting the features and development path of a cryptocurrency.

I think everyone should stop worrying about Nxt and start worrying about Bitshares.  :D

beta was released yesterday or so .. really need to check that one out .. very promising ..
I am also interested in this, not so much for it's SR features but I am hoping that it will legitimately give people a ebay/amazon alternative. I also like the find that their will be no TOR integration from the start. This should allow more openness to the system and perhaps even make it a little easier for the devs to focus on the code/fixes. I would of course love to see the use bitUSD here so buyers dont have to be dealing with the volatility while waiting to make purchases.

Me too. Supposedly EBay banked 60 billion last year. Imagine if that was in the hands of the sellers that work hard selling things on eBay. #killerapp

Looks like it's coming along nicely and has a beta release out already. Planning an official release by the end of the year.
