About
World wide lottery using bitcoins

Mission
Our mission is to offer a fair lottery to the entire world at an extremely affordable rate to play. We strive to make our community feel welcomed and we are completely transparent and thank you for trusting us as we care about each one of our players.

Description
World Super Lotto (WSL) is similar to your familiar state lotteries the main difference is that there is no legal currency used to buy tickets and pay our winnings. WSL uses Bitcoin as its "currency."

Unlike state lottos you can play online and buy your tickets from your phone, tablet or computer. WSL if the only lottery of its kind that uses the classic manual drawing using a machine that meets the standards of the World Lottery Association. You can watch the balls being picked live from the website.

There are many benefits playing WSL vs traditional lotteries:

1 - WSL does not use a real currency and therefor your winnings are not "taxed"
2 - The payout is done within 48 hours and goes straight to your account, you are then free to withdraw your winnings to your personal wallet
3 - The odds of winning WSL are much greater than other lotteries
4 - Playing WSL is socially fun as you can chat live with other players

May I ask about your source of randomness for the lottery?
You do realize that we have LottoShares and soon will have BitSharesPLAY which both will be competitive to your proposal?!

Xeroc!  We will actually be using a real lottery machine that you see on alll the national lotteries. The machine is built according to the standard lotto association regulations. We will do a live drawing twice per week where you can tune in, and watch the drawing live, there will also be a chat section where you can interact with other viewers...
we are working on a way to assure the public that it is LIVE and not pre recorded etc... right now the best idea i have is on the live feed to show a tablet and load a page that is a world clock page, also maybe read a news article from that day from something like BBC.com

Interesting .. I saw this concept on other platforms too

If I may give an advice: Why not put a running TV there that shows a live BBC stream?
That way you can at least ensure that you have not recorded the video .. you can still use a non-live feed and fake the drawing to later though ..

A TV in the back would be distrating and unpleasant, what i was thinking of holding a tablet up infront of the machine and loading a site like this    http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/      so people can see it load  and it has the times and dates... what do you think

Better to load https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitstamp/btcusd or simply have the presenter mention the exact price of bitcoin in the same shot as the drawing occurs.

Well, that’s a nice concept and there is no question about that. Dealing in bitcoins while playing lottery is really great as the winner is no longer liable to pay tax. Also the payouts are great and quick and this makes this concept more attractive. I am more into online lotteries (https://www.lottosignals.com/online) and definitely wanna try this one out too.

You are certainly interested in reading about BitShares PLAY (know also known as dacplay) http://dacplay.org

Live lotteries can be faked
A famous British illusionist Derren Brown 'predicted' the lottery live on TV
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUiToBs_YT0

Why use a lottery machine at all? Seems very old fashioned in the crypto world.
What's wrong with a blockchain hash?

DACplay will be serious competition for this, if you want to stay in the game I'd come up with a better way to draw the numbers.
At this early stage with comparatively low jackpots and a small number of players your method works fine, but what will happen with potentially millions on the line?
You are going to need to prove without a shadow of a doubt that you have not influenced the numbers or made shady back-room deals

SatoshiDice nailed the lottery business, IMO. there's nothing better than an algorithmically provably fair random draw that's public and all records audit able. plus, when everything is done automatically online you don't have overhead costs (which drive down payouts to players), and you don't have as much risk of confiscation and imprisonment by some a$$hole bureaucrats pissed that you're ruining their monopoly.
