Dear BitShares Stakeholders & Community,

My name is Christoph Hering and I joined the BitShares community in late 2014. I used to work in the wealth management and B2B money transfer industry before I joined the BitShares community. In my time as a wealth manager, I started to analyze the different crypto currencies Bitcoin and Ripple and came to the sad conclusion that both Blockchains cannot meet my  demands of a fast and safe money transfer system. Bitcoin's volatility and Ripple’s UIA platform were not the right solutions for me.

I fell in love with the vision of BitShares: a decentralized global asset exchange platform - open for any business via API. What a groundbreaking idea and technology! Soon after, I joined the platform and started to participate in the development, growth and advertising of the BitShares ecosystem.

Since then I helped Ken, Ronny, and others to translate marketing materials, wrote youtube video subtitles and blog articles, organized monthly BitShares meetups and visited countless FinTech events in south Germany and Switzerland to talk about BitShares and share our story. I am also organizing the Blockchain track 2016 for Germany’s biggest Start-up Festival “Bits and Pretzels” and will bring BitShares on stage.

Since fall 2015, I partnered up with Ken Code from Munich and we started to develop the first mobile wallet for the BitShares Graphene Blockchain. Shortly after we started the company BitShares Munich IVS and are now both focusing full-time on the development of more wallets, multiple mobile payment, and point-of-sales systems. I decided it is now the right time for the next step.

I officially apply for the Committee to represent the best interest of the BitShares community.

It is my personal vision to invite new startups and corporations into the BitShares ecosystem and to provide cheaper and better services to billions. I want to encourage all kinds of Entrepreneurs to start building their business based on the global asset exchange BitShares.

It is my goal to provide everyone access to the BitShares ecosystem without having to become a Coder. I want to develop Bitshares into a financial backbone for countless personalized user applications, trading exchanges, mobile payment apps, lending circles, crowdfunding platforms and much more.

Xeroc in cryptofresh.com/ballots i can see that commitee members that you, kencode n more 3 say yes to cronos proposal......

So could you explain?

So could you explain?
They are voting their private stakes (or in xeroc's case, his proxied stake) for Chronos' proposal. What xeroc means is that voting for a committee member doesn't give any more weight to their votes (that's achieved by proxying to an account).

committee members have no say about workers ..
If you vote for the worker then I can make this clearer in a video  ;)

Committee members are volunteers who vote on just a few things, such as network fees and witness pay.

However, is there any explanation about one thing: some months ago you promised to translate some articles or web pages to German for Ronny, after done and got paid, your works were judged by some people as 'not better than Bing Translation'?

I personally support chronos videos. I think it is the right time to create a set of new introduction videos about the BitShares platform next to the great OpenLedger videos. Please be aware to UI/X changes. The interface is updated weekly and some features change their position.

Yes, I translated a lot of articles + website for CCEDK and OpenLedger. I also translated the German dub for all BitShares 101 from Max Wright back then. Translating is always a difficult task, especially when certain English phrases are not existing in German. Moreover, many Blockchain industry terms simply do not exist in german or sound super strange, like wallet, exchange, merchant etc.  I am sorry if some parts might seem unreasonable, I am happy to fix the texts in the future.

I approved the latest proposal to increase the Witness Pay rate from 1.5 BTS to 3 BTS per block in the proposal http://cryptofresh.com/p/1.10.1183 .

I approve this proposal because I think it will attract more active witness, increase the competition between the paid witnesses and will give us all a more stable blockchain. However, we as a community also need to keep your witnesses accountable and I will do a routine Witness check on the BitShares Hangout to keep people accountable for their work. I am confident that with transparency, better incentives and a more active community we can grow the BitShares Blockchain. I think that is something we all can agree on.

I approved the latest fee adjustment proposal: http://cryptofresh.com/p/1.10.1899

I approved this proposal to adjust the fee structure to the formally defined price list in USD terms. The BTS platform fees are priced in BTS and will increase or decrease according to the latest BTS price movements. Hence the committee will adjust the platform prices from time to time to set them back to the normal level. The committee is inviting the community for a debate if we should fix all fees to USD terms, or if we should keep it in BTS to prevent pegging our platform fees to a strong inflationary currency like the USD.
