Title: BitShares the Book and internet Show to launch this week
Post by: bitmarket on December 16, 2014, 09:37:55 pm
Hi Forum,

So later this week I plan on launching a couple of initiatives that have been a long time in the making. I have written a book and will launch a weekly internet show about bitshares.

The primary purpose of these projects is to give a greater suite of tools for people interested in Bitshares to learn more.  I hope you enjoy the tools and they assist everybody in explaining the complexities of BitShares.

I am pleased to say that BM and Stan (among others) have read the book and are pleased with the way it educates the reader about BitShares in an easy to understand way. Even some passionate Bitshare enthusiasts learned a lot and had some difficult concepts crystallized after reading the book.

I am really hoping to get this book to best seller status in its category on Amazon Kindle.   Hence I am giving everyone a heads up now so that you know the book will be available as of Thursday.

If you are on this forum or on the newsletter list you will receive an email also.  The book will be 0.99 cents on kindle and I intend to give away some prizes for reviews and posting on facebook that you purchased the book.  Stay tuned for details about that.

The weekly internet show will also launch at the same time. I think this will be a great avenue to get the word out about bitshares. Hopefully you find them entertaining and educational enough that you might choose to share them with your friends and contacts.

Thanks.

PS: A lot of people worked very hard and contributed to all of these projects, not just me.   On Thursday I will properly credit each of the contributors and thank them for their efforts.

Sounds awesome. Will definitely be buying this. Will buying more than one per person get it a higher score or are there anti spam systems?

If the book gave back a return in BTS it could work as a mini faucet and we could more efficiently get it to number 1 if we wanna buy more than one at a time. Will be perfect to buy a lot as small gifts. In fact if the book could be easily transfered it could even be work for "tipping". Anyway just a weird idea, i thought it could maybe work with the valentine referral faucet.

Charles have you ever thought of running to be a 100% delegate?

Given how high profile you are in the crypto community, I would vote for you.

/Sorry for hijacking thread this idea just occured to me.

It would be fun, but I think there would be some who react this way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2RmzwZNXfk

That said, I'm impressed with some recent changes and I have a lot of faith in Toast, Max and others.

Make it the first book only available for print via BitUSD. You'll probably pick up a nice bitcoin mag article.

Since when does that matter?  If people want you in there will be enough people to vote you in that you will get a position!

Even though you never answered questions about why you left, if you produce good work that helps bitshares on the whole I see no reason why you couldn't have a delegate.  If you don't want to run one, though...that would be a different story.  Do you want to run one?

The biggest thing people on the forum can do for this is to buy the book, leave a good keyword rich review of the book.  Then share the book on all social media outlets, and emailing contacts and people you think will be interested.  Bitmarket and I will be working on getting some publicity for the book - ANYTHING you do will be helpful.

Once the plug-ins are available, do you plan on selling for bitUSD?

I have chatted to BM about this.  I am not sure if it is kosher.  Just so everyone knows I am/was one of Brian Pages underlings.  I already receive performance based remuneration.  My original thought was that a delegate role was double dipping.   BM suggested that a delegate role would be supplemental and perfectly valid.  He brought me around on the topic somewhat.

I will just focus on delivering massive value to the community for the rest of this year and perhaps in January I will send out a pulse to see if it is something the community would like me to pursue.

That was why I posted my delegate proposal for the media portion - for supplemental funds to assist in the buildout of the unfortunate part of marketing that isn't fun - paying for exposure.

Either way, keep rocking what you are doing.

With us getting closer to the 1.0 launch, this is absolutely the wrong time to nickle and dime.  I support a delegate for you and Bitmarket. We can evaluate the results and modify voting the following month or two. Now is the time to go balls to the wall.

I support, and will vote for, paid delegates for murderistic and bitmarket.

I will periodically reassess my voting and lack of transparency will garner a rescinding of my vote.

I doubt we will see many more people get voted in as 100% delegates... we have voted in several already and have seen no improvement to the market cap.

Spending money on marketing delegates may seem like a good idea, but these are a bunch of people without a leader to make tough decisions and direct people towards a specific goal.

I would have a problem if all these proposed 100% delegates got elected, but clearly the heavier bts holders know that several separate "marketing" delegates will not work.

Its been like two weeks.  The things they have been working on have barely even been released yet.

I will say this wherever it applies: "Double dipping" by a paid delegate would be only acceptable for me if I know what the pay through AGS funds is. This is how I vote (made an exception with toast but still waiting on clarification there as well). I have not yet heard any good contra argument here.

You don't seem to have any perspective on what has been going on at Nullstreet. Do you?

An enormous amount of organizing has been going on, and the results of this phenomenal amount of voluntary labor by MethodX and HPEnvy and others are about to hit the airwaves. Bitmarket's book is about to be released, as are his bitshares.tv interviews with Dan. Murderistic's contacts are bearing fruit.

These movers and shakers shouild be paid for their time and effort. Or should we just all just sit back and be naysayer's? And watch our investments peter away? What are you doing that you would like to get paid for?

Are you ready for what is about to unfold? How about you help to fund registration and advise some of the newbies about to begin pouring into our paradigm? Or how about you start marketing to Argentina or Korea (or vote in those ready and willing to do so)?
