Title: Is content beyond Music part of the vision/roadmap ?
Post by: unimercio on November 20, 2014, 05:27:14 am
I see tremendous potential for the Music Blockchain and all it's extensions. I have a few questions/suggestions:

What digital media types will be supported  (audio, video, still images) ?
Music Videos
Songs (audio only)
Digital Band Posters
Digital Band art for official T-Shirt

What content types?
Music
Movies
Audio books
Pay per view events
Subscription News Letters
Subscription News Magazines
Radio Broadcast Archives

Are 3rd parties encouraged to develop clients, support sites, etc  targeting these markets?

Thanks again, I'm looking forward to collaborating and will continue to increase my investment.

Cheers

The blockchain does NOT support any binary data. It's a ledger of ownership and
licenceship. The data as to be distributed in a different manner (for now) ...
Though the profit is shares with the shareholders onchain. Please read the
whitepaper or the FAQ:
http://www.bitsharesmusicfoundation.org/faq.html

Are 3rd parties encouraged to develop clients, support sites, etc  targeting these markets?
Short answer: YES!!!! of course!!!!
Long answer: Peertracks is a company making profit out of the bitshares music
blockchain. The blockchain is owned by the shareholders of NOTES. EVERYONE can
use the blockchain as he likes to. You can add your own assets, add your own
applications ontop of it .. It's a little like Bitcoin vs. Mastercoin vs.
Counterparty, although BitShares tech is alot more advanced :)

First, thank you both @cass, @xeroc, etc.. your contributions to the community rank well up there with Bitshares greats (no smoke).

I misspoke, regarding what content was welcome and/or compatible with the platform. I meant to say, Peertracks as the repository/library not the actual music blockchain.

But along that thread, I wonder is it possible/practical to integrate a "MaidSafe-Drive" or "Storj-Meta Disk" like storage solutions. Reaching out to these community would add strength to the Bitshares ecosystem and potentially address single points of failure, censorship, privacy and further decentralize the end product.

As an AGS/PTS supporter/investor Bitshares has been mostly a passive investment for me, that is about to change. Waiting for the toolkit to mature is no longer an option and selfish on my part. I'll be posting a series of bounties and requests for proposal in the next fews days. Some will tie back to the 501c(6) non profit foundation I co-founded the other a full commercial venture leveraging my resources in my healthcare business. All will fully honor the AGS/PTS contract.

I'm very much looking forward to engaging, the sidelines can be quite boring !

Thanks again
